Been there, done that ! My parents died & my best friend in the world died, now I have three years of sobriety and life is harder but better without Demon Alcohol 🍸 ! You can do it brother 💪 🙏 GBY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy that you are taking control. It's true, the odds are stacked against those seeking sobriety, and within those odds lies the unfortunate truth, that alcohol use has psychologically woven its way into virtually every aspect of society & life itself. Birthdays, anniversaries, job promotion celebrations, tough days on the job, depression cures, etc. I do like Henry Rollins' take on how he kicked alcohol & drugs: "I listen to music, I write, I workout, and I do things. All the chemicals you'll ever need are already in your mind & body, you just have to access them naturally." ❤🎉
Way to go! The most important step in anyone's journey is the beginning. The confidence to be surrounded by alcohol (grocery store, parties, hangouts) and never wanting a drop of it will feel more & more like a super power. ❤🎉
This is exactly what I've always believed! I don't drink for many reasons and people take the piss, but having had an alcoholic mother, I swore that would never, ever happen to me and if people take the piss, they're not true friends.
One of the interesting things about not drinking for a while is you will convince yourself to drink again based on the best experiences you've ever had with alcohol. But after taking a lot of time off, the negative effects will be amplified. If you repeat the sober for a while then have a few drinks periodically enough times, you'll eventually associate any amount of alcohol with feeling like garbage. If you keep going back to it as I did for a long time, keep quitting and just make sure you remember the last time you drank and how you felt. It gets easier to stop until one day you are hyper aware of what you're going to get out of it and will laugh at the consideration of drinking.
Day 7 for myself, and I feel great. Never going back. I've switched my mindset so much on it. I'd rather eat good food and spend money on things that I truly enjoy
If anyone ask me how I did stop alcohol and I don't crave it anymore and don't need to run away from it like before. I always tell people it's Sober Leon's videos😊...😊
Haven't drunk for 2 months after 35 years of average 3.5 liters of beer, the cravings still come as a reminder to stop the conversation in my head. Yup, inner silence is the only key which has really opened the door to sobriety. I' m hoping that my attention will budge of " me me me" eventually so that I can use the key on other doors, who knows where that will lead. Point being, not drinking isn't necessarily the goal, but it will free up energy to continue your journey. Thanks Leon for your great work!
I'll settle with my swill thank you. I don't want tea or coffee because of the caffeine and I can't stand milk. And fruit juices have mad sugar in it. But love mineral water.
Yup, pretty much the same way Nike and big business shoe retailers get people to buy a $180 pair of Jordans, even though we all know as soon as they run off the cheap-labor Nike Factory assembly lines, those shoes are worth no more than $25, before mark-ups via advertising & marketing, driven by a "military psy-ops" caliber product placement team.
Where did the few thousands of dollars come from. 😂 the easiest way to quit is realize that big alcohol taking advantage of people's ignorance. You are better than that, don't let them win..... focus on your health, fitness, and relationships. You got this.
We do have control. We can control what we consume, whether that be media, food, or other substances, we can control it. Faith in God really helps, but the key is to pull away from propaganda.

Was sober for a little over a year. Fell off course last year. I’m back to 40 days and reevaluating my mindset. I hate alcohol.

Great explanation Leon. Many of us have been taught WHAT to think and not HOW to think.

Plus, in movies and TV, nobody gets hungover
This!!!! Whenever I watch something and the characters are having all this alcohol I’m thinking “Damn I’d be passed out!”
😂

This one was especially well done. Thanks mate.
I like non-alcoholic beer... Love the taste of beer, but I'm too damn old to be dealing with the consequences!
That is Not beer, it's swill ! Stick with tea, coffee, mineral water, milk, fruit juice....

Almost 2 months no alcohol (and 3 weeks caffeine free, but that’s another story)
