Islam don't allow alcohol 😊
History has already taught us that prohibition is exactly the wrong approach. The right approach is what is already happening. Alcohol is losing its cool. People are caring more about physical and mental health. Alcohol companies are struggling to grow so instead they compete for market share.
Islam would drive me to drink.@@dpboy8315

Alcohol becomes your friend. Then it becomes your only friend. And then it becomes your enemy.
@user-oy5fp9ub1q This is more of a metaphor than anything. However , it has been the experience for many. Don't be so serious.
Not for everyone, maybe you but not me.
The Bible says to love ❤️ your enemy.

This is scary accurate.
I am a chronic alcoholic. I haven't drank for twenty four years. Quitting alcohol at forty-six years of age, I can say I've lived two lifetimes.
Life without alcohol is infinitly happier, healthier, and satisfying. Keep coming back !
That's very nice for you. You wildly overdid a simple thing and quit. Fine. But don't ever try to tell another adult they can't have a drink after dinner. Not everybody lacks self-control.
Me too, suffered the disease and caused so much suffering for others also for over 35 years, now im four years sober, free, so, so greatful 🎉 Alcoholism is an illness that I will die with and not from 🙏 🎉 just for today life is so peaceful and meaningful and worthwhile 🎉❤

Most people who consume beer, wine, and liquor, do so soberly, in moderation, without becoming non-sober,… or rarely being tipsy. Drunk is not an option, that's just stupid, generally.
What's the purpose in drinking an alcoholic drink, that you can't achieve with a non-alcoholic drink? @@bonsummers2657
Amen, turn to God for true life and Peace.
I wasn't even an alcoholic, but cut it out of my life anyway and my life is 100% better. I really bought into the "lifestyle," not any more.
Alcohol just isn't cool anymore.
I believe you are right drinking for the most part is a cultural thing
and with the cultural shift and drugs being everywhere and cheaper
then drinking and pot being legalized drinking is taking a back seat
with the younger generations.. That's probably a good thing..
But the drug Alternative is definitely no better..
Plus all domestic and imported beer's and liquors are owned by In-Bev a
Globalist Lizard People company partnered with big pharma I have noticed that men who drink beer regularly have "gynecomastia" -->men who grow titties and lactate
I know this is conspiracy theory Alex Jone's gay frog water thing
But I personally would not trust anything that Globalist Lizard people
and Big Pharma have any part of period..
It also seems strange to me that like half the population of the world
has become homosexual, transgender or pedophiles or all three together
over night..
Amazing how you sober up you start to notice these things..
Just seems kinda strange to me..
i beg to differ. whenever I'm too amped up, a depressant to bring me back down every now and then is quite nice
Especially as you enter middle age
It's very cool
You do you
I quit drinking in 2020. Never looked back. Been drinking since 1980

@@pjokkenroll There is more evil to be found in controlling others than there is in letting people make choices, and prosecuting them as needed if the consequences are damaging. If God lets us choose...who the heck are other humans taking choices away from each other about their own bodies?! 2 years 100% sober in 17 days. Was a daily drinker. Quit cold turkey one day. Just woke up and was done, no defining moment, no big speech, just a moment of clarity I held onto and never looked back. Best damn thing I ever did for myself. Have dropped 40lbs, I go to the gym everyday, have real relationships. My life is so much better without these things it doesn't bother me to be around it. That stuff is poison for us and poison for our society.
I drank a beer last night. Ho hum it was no big deal. I had another beer four days ago. Same thing, no big deal.
Same here, woke up one day and just decided to quit. If ANY routine doesn't benefit you, why continue to do it?
I always say only you can decide and make that choice. No external person or event can do it. It’s a choice not a disease. Definitely physical addiction that can kill you if not handled correctly. I know first hand
@@tech5298good for you. Enjoy what you think is good for you.
@tech5298 then you are not an alcoholic or even someone who has problems with drinking. For a lot of us in society alcohol has absolutely destroyed our lives and no matter how hard we tried "just having one" we couldn't control our consumption once we started. People get DUIs all the time. People drink and get into fights all the time. People kill each other in those DUI accidents and in those bar fights. So for you it may be "no big deal" but for a large amount of society it is a big deal.
Prohibition does not work, socially alcohol must become unacceptable for us to move away from our addiction to this chemical
True. I think thats where the real fix lies. Once it doesn't appear to be cool anymore, SO many less will try it. Banning it makes it almost sorta edgy and risqué. It will never fix the problem
@@thomasfisher763alcohol has literally been with humanity forever. Ever heard of that guy Jesus turning water into wine? It's got nothing to do with being whatever cool is or is not. Because people are always going to desire some form of chemical, be it alcohol or whatever drugs we had, have now or will have in the future.

I'm 62 . I never drank really my whole life.
Two years ago I started drinking .

And spiritually I strayed.
I haven't drank really since January 21 .

Don't give up! You deserve the very best!
Hang in there. You'll make it. It sucks. I know. I made it.
Sober a couple of years now - unbelievable how better I am at everything. I will never go back.
Since my childhood alcohol has always proved itself to be absolutely negative in every way.
Mine also. It's a soul crushing drug. Even for ones who don't drink but live with...ban that poison
Same here I used to like a couple of pints myself but I rarely bother now I may have a cool cider on a sunny day but its been well over a year since I did that.
Then don't drink
Currently active alcoholic. Planning to quit in the near future. This video literally brought tears to my eyes. I think the hardest thing about this video is it forces me to confront the fact that every night I drink until I pass out, and I know I'm hurting myself, but I'm so fucked up inside I keep doing it. Even though I have an amazing job, a once in a lifetime spouse and two absolutely beautiful children. Every night and all day long during the day on my days off I'm always under the influence. I don't want to escape my reality anymore. My life is amazing. I think I just hate the person I am without it. I don't know how to be light hearted and easy going without it. I don't know how to be or maybe just not motivated to be funny or outgoing without it. I can't just relax and enjoy life without it. I can't love and appreciate my wife and kids without it. But it's all a facade. It's all fake. It's induced. It's like I'm doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Only Mr Hyde is who I am when I'm sober. Inpatient, harsh, rigid, cold. I want to be who I am when I'm drinking without being drunk.
I've been exactly where you are at.. and it took me nearly 10 years to finally quit.. unfortunately, someone in your situation usually stops drinking in only one of 3 ways. 1- your brain becomes so damaged from years (or decades) of abuse that you start recognizing irreversible signs of alcohol related brain damage and dementia. 2- something horrible happens that forces you to rethink everything.. car crash, dead family member, financial loss, jail, dismemberment, alcohol related diseases (mouth cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer, etc.. . 3- Death. The wake of destruction that alcohol takes on you and those around you grows with every passing year and those negative effects are exponential and compound with each year, Quit now before you have to go through what a real long term drinker has to go through.
♡♡♡ You can do it.!

I almost died some 45 years ago After attending a party when in college. I took my bottle of Paul Masson Rose wine home, even though we all had plenty to eat during the function and plenty to drink -- I woke up the next morning after going to bed to sleep it off. I'd gotten sick while asleep , had I choked Ugh the laundry I had to do that morning, a shower to get the smell off me ... I'd not be here to tell the tale. I'm in my mid-60s now. Swore off all wine and social drinking from that point on, anything drank by myself was limited by me for only special occasions. Like maybe a couple times a year birthday, wedding invite, etc. Had my last drink at a restaurant over 36 years ago. Don't miss any form of alcohol. I have seen people's lives unravel from it! Best thing is to avoid this 'evil' little social crutch.
Alcohol should not be banned. Just because some people have problems does not mean we should destroy freedom for everyone else.
Same argument can be used with Meth.
exactly, all drugs should be legal, everyone should be able to put in their bodies what they choose to.
People who have problems often say "other people have problems". Also people who have problems are the loudest when saying "its a freedom for everyone to chose". Someone who understands the problems of alcohol would never say things like this :P

Yup.
I quit drinking 15 months ago, after a 43-year run with a few months or so of abstaining here and there. Definitely the longest I've gone without a drink and I haven't craved it or been called by it. AA helped a lot as did some voluntary outpatient sessions. It was time to let it go. I feel a lot better without question. I do enjoy weed though but it's not detrimental to me. I've been into and around it since I started drinking but I was able to quit it without any trouble a few times so I'm not concerned about it since I learned moderation a long time ago. It does help with my anxiety and Parkinson's. I learned some eye-opening stuff about alcohol when I was in outpatient.
Understandable but disagreeable. You can get drunk, just don’t be a drunkard. If ur sober a lot of the time, you can let loose and have a fun experience. If ur doing it all the time, ur decisions become impacted along with everything else in ur life. The fun times are also no longer fun. So ppl should enjoy life n have fun while not letting it control them. It makes u a better person

At the age of nearly 70 I look back on a life of almost no alcohol - often zero for decades at a time - with gratitude. But the motivation to ban it must come from something greater than our previous failed attempts to do so. It has to come from an inner transformation of our social thinking and values. Sadly I do not think we are ready for this just yet.

One of my moms friends left a 5th of Jack Daniels at our house when i was 9. I started taking sips and ended up drinking the whole bottle over a few months. After it was gone I started sneaking bottles of Amish Wine from my grandma's house. I was a full-blown Alcoholic by 14. ever since they legalized weed in Canada now i see a new old trend among teens in Canada :cigarettes. cigarettes are the new thing again... cuz they are more expensive (status) and a big no no look down on (rebel aspect to it) more then weed ...fucking go figure.
Alcohol sucks in my opinion, what a terrible feeling
I drank around the clock 24/7. My body began to shutdown from liver disease. I was dying and close to death. It's coming up on 6 years without a drink or a drug. Thank you God!
I’ve created “Sober Healing” to wake up the world and see how much better our life can be without alcohol!! I’ve been sober for 2 1/2 years and My Life is totally awesome!! ❤
As for sobriety, no one has ever regretted quitting drinking alcohol. I’m 9 years sober. 👍
When I was in my 30s 20 years ago I went to rehab 3 times and I heard the same thing alcohol was the drug that brought them to there lowest point in life
I have gotten my drinking under control since six years ago when I went on carnivore diet. Now I only have a celebratory drink on holidays, and I am around alcohol all the time. I face the temptation all the time and have zero issue staring it down. Occasional cigars are much nicer and enjoyable.
Now to take issue with the video. I will never support the banning of any substance. Prohibition was a disaster and the drug war has been an even bigger disaster. Dangerous liberty is the answer, and we must embrace this fact. External controls backed up by threats of force and violence do not solve problems for society or individuals. The individual will not be free from his weaknesses until he learns to overcome them. No law can bring this to us.
There is also a second area of consideration. There are disease processes that ethanol is known to have a positive effect on. You'll find plenty of studies on this in the area of epilepsy and maybe even depression, and more if you care to look at the NCBI.
I always tell people its really amazing to never even think about even wanting a drink because I haven't had single drop of alcohol in my entire life
I’ve been fighting alcohol for 20 years however I stopped just before Christmas and never gone back. Coming up to 5 months now I feel great. I don’t even miss it. Don’t crave it. It’s like something has just changed in me.
17 years sober but If you want to drink have at it. I would recommend that you pay attention to what it does to the people around you.
13yrs Sober ... But I own a liquor store ... Am I a hypocrite?😂
I don't think so. Liquor stores sell other things too. It's your business to survive. It's legal. The government needs to be more accountable with the fact they legalized a drug that was once outlawed for a number of valid reasons. I still struggle with it every 2 months of sobriety, I go on a 2 day binge, detox/sleep for 2 days, then get sober again. My goal is to be like 👍 u. Congrats 👏 & I appreciate 🙏 the inspiration ❤️. Stay sober no matter what!!!!

Drugs impact different people in different ways. Contradictory to Jordan Peterson’s assertion that alcohol makes people more aggressive, it affects me in exactly the opposite way. I am far more aggressive when completely sober than I am after a drink or two.
Of course, my nervous system is a contradiction to the typical models of science. I suffer from ADHD and OCD and am an unorganized, ineffective, and impatient wreck without Adderall. I’m an engineer with an IQ considered in the exceptionally gifted category and my primary school teachers were perplexed by me. In the third grade we took the CAT test and my reading comprehension was on a college student level. I was a behavioral nightmare sitting in those classes waiting on everyone else to catch on to what I immediately understood and could innately abstract to other contexts and paradigms.
My third grade teacher finally just put me at a table by myself and told me to learn at my own pace. This was in November and I finished the entire curriculum of that grade before Christmas, passing all tests with As. I then just made my own curriculum and had to request books from the high school library to stay engaged. I was reading about algebra, geometry, physics, biology at a high school level.
I had basically the same experience in every other grade. The teachers eventually just let me go at my own pace to keep me assuaged.
I haven't drank in 10 years, I wasn't an alcoholic, I just got to where I hated it and being around people that drink. Life is much better without it. ❤
The vast majority of people drink responsibly, if its band, then it goes underground, and we have another Al Capone problem.
Very helpful video Leon! There has been a significant cultural shift in recent years towards more mindful and moderate drinking, as well as a rise in the popularity of sobriety movements. People quitting alcohol, because of health concerns, wellness and self-care, personal reasons. It's important to note that while there is a trend towards reduced alcohol consumption, alcohol still remains a widely consumed substance in many societies.👋❤
I drank because i had a really rough life from childhood all the way to in my 40's . I know there's a God because once those deeply wounded situations disappeared 🤔 well not disappeared, I confronted those demons. I still dranked but not often, i went from drinking 4 times a week to drinking twice a month, now I don't drink at all.
The people i hung with , i realize they were a great influence. Either they'd talk about their problems or I talked about mine , can you imagine comparing problems. Instead of enjoyment I was depressed all the time . After awhile I would drink alone and i was still depressed. Drinking wasn't fun anymore, it made me think about past situations.
Many reasons why they're called ", Spirit's, alcohol literally open negative doors. I have family members who passed from drinking, that in itself is enough to want to stop .
Now I'm working on stop smoking 😊
I quit over a year and a half. I'm been rocking it. I've started a successful business and wouldn't have done it unless I wasn't completely straight. Thank you Leon for your videos
I quit for my health journey. I also loss a lot weight but that's my choice.
Celebrating 11 yrs in 2024🙌 Keep Coming Back It Works If You WORK IT🚀
Alcoholism and drinking among women is at an all-time high.
Incredible video. Well, edited and well put together. Great job.
moderation is the key. don't be an addict.
Right even jesus drank alcohol!
😂 Okay 😂
But they said even moderation is significantly harmful
I've been clean and sober for 40 years as of last January. A lot of the things this video says is true to some but not all. Opinions are overwhelmingly to some because it's inconceivable to most that suffer from alcoholism. The hardest fact of all is that the effects are different for different people and the results are the same for all alcoholics. Focusing on the problem excessively looses the solution, and that is SELF commitment.
Anyone who calls for the ban of alcohol doesnt learn from history. Personal responsibility is what everyone needs. Thats called freedom. Just because you can doesnt mean you should
Booze has never improved anyones life.
Yes it has => the salesmen 😀
Okay. These are extreme cases. It isn't the alcohol, it's the person. Many people drink and don't get wasted. Too bad for those who can't control themselves. And power to those who have overcome their addiction. What's the solution? Banning it? We did that in the 20's. What happened? We strengthened organized crime. If people want it, there will always be a supplier. What is the message here? Stop drinking? Okay, stop drinking.
Prohibition only ended as the IRS was missing out on taxation. They were not getting their cut. That's the only reason. They could care less about what the masses want. They wanted to ensure with legalization they got their cut.
"It was very dark for a very long time." Just sums it all up for me. Thank God i quit...thank God I could quit.
Its been 14 years since i did quit. I never thought i could as i loved to drink, but my body hated it. Eventually, do to other health reasons i had to quit...
After going 6 months w/o any alcohol. I stopped thinking about it. After a year total abstinence i even lost love for the stuff. It was absolutely the best thing i ever did for myself because alcohol is so unnecessarily destructive. To me there are no good excuses for drinking. You don't need it...for anything! If you fail...try again until you are free
Goodluck & God bless!
I quit drinking 10 years ago. A habit turned into an addiction and for a year I could not live without it. It was a crutch that made everything worse in my life. From the people I hung around with to the bad decisions I made when drinking. To this day the X friends of mine are still drinking and they were the first to wag their finger at me. How ironic, but the point is NO ONE thinks clearing drinking and it is a depressant and you will be depressed.
I work at a liquor store and our business is so dang slow! Either people cant afford it or they are quitting.
Probably can't afford it. A decent bottle of wine was around 12-15 dollars a few years ago. Santa Margerita, which is a good wine costs about $22 years ago.
Alcohol isn’t to blame, it’s how people discipline themselves in being responsible.
That's is just not true. Alcohol is a highly addictive poison. It is 100% to blame. Not the person.
@@benwilkinson5457yes…. Literally poison
