I’ve never called one right in like that but have turned heads,ignored and once had a hind circle me trying to get my wind and barking constantly. I she barked over 60 times, she was clearly distressed. I’m sure there was a calf near by.
@denniswells9340 My belief is if you call a hind in, she has a young calf somewhere, and if you shoot her, you will orphan the calve most likely to die.
I bought the Renegade Lowa's for hunting farm fringe country this week, they arrived and were terrific for that purpose walking the flats/fields/crops/forested areas! Thank you for the tip and your videos Zeb which are appreciated

What a ripper stag for a first deer my first stag was less than half the size and I was happy as ,any deer is a good result on a hunt for me it's all about food not big antlers but congrats anyway well done guys.
First deer are always special regards of his antler size.

I used my thermal reflective ground mat for this trip as we intended to hunt an area where there was going to be snow on the ground. Thanks for your comment 👍
Great video! What bullet was the stag shot with? Interested to see if the was also an eldx and what the damage was on the shoulder... Pretty interesting that if the Boys both shoot eldx that you get a passthrough and an instant drop with a shoulder shot- kinda myth -dispelling.
I'm pretty sure the stag was shot with some Federal ammo not hornady

Hey zeb i seen a big 30 inch stag up top glassing and we stalked all the way to it and we got to abt 200-100 metres and cause we didnt know if we could shoot 400 cause we seen it again in its bed at rouphly 300 metres but as we gpt to 100 or so the wind circled and it ran but we reckon it was in velvet but wat do u rekon we do if its never smelt a human beforw
Not many haven't smelt humans before but if he was in velvet there is a chance he'll be back in that area if he wasn't too badly spooked. Velvet stags tend to stay in a small area while growing.
