Even two years later, on the SuperCross 3 model, Salomon did not reintegrate the pocket in the tongue to store the lace. The solution I found is to add a Lab gaiter from Salomon. In addition to allowing the end of the lace to be stored there, it protects the ankle and prevents small pebbles from entering the shoe!
Great review... Thanks. I've hiked In the alps through Bavaria and Switzerland in these for many, many hours and love them... The durability of the upper isn't so strong but the sole is solid and as long as you don't put too many miles tarmac and road it will last a LONG time. I love how soft they are and the grip is amazing too. I have warn mine for, almost, daily runs and hikes for 10 months and the sole is still good. They get put through all sorts of conditions, wet, dry, dusty, boggy and all good. If you don't get the Gortex then it wetter conditions water will permeate the upper very easily (I just order the cortex for this reason) but aside from that they're ace. Where they will slip is on wet roots and polished wet rock but it is hard not to find any shoe that will cope with this. Thanks again for the review!
Thanks Duncan, that's appreciated and I glad you enjoyed it. It's a pretty solid shoe and great value! 👍 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏😊
hello, duncan. can you tell us your experience with this model in goretex? because i have read some reviews people complaining that even goretex let water in only walking through wet grass. thank you
I have chosen this as my next trail shoe. Unlike you I need 10mm offset and was after a replacement for my soon to be worn out Brooks Cascadia. I was wary of going with Cascadia 14 as they apparently have issues with durability like they had with the version 10, and was struggling to find the 13 in a decent price in my size. I have never been able to wear Salomon before as they are too narrow but these are wider. They are roomy too and instead of my usual size 10 I actually went for a 9.5, really unusual for me. A shoe like this seems good as an all rounder too, I run on a wide variety of off road, hardly any road. I'm looking forward to wearing them but for now the Cascadia 11s will be my shoe for a bit longer, the supercross will be put away for a birthday present to me in 3 months time. I would have waited but sizes were running out and these were available for £65 in my size so it was time to snap them up. I got the fully black version even though I prefer colourful shoes too, in the end my 10 year old daughter urged me to go all black because apparently is was "wayyy cooler"!
Hi Harvey Thanks for watching the channel and I hope you found the review helpful 😀 Your right sizing on Salomon shoes has definitely changed! They’ve gone from being quite small in size to quite big in size 👍🏻 It’s definitely a good all rounder and for £65 it’s a total bargain!!! 😳 Once again thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe to our channel to keep up to date with new content 🎥🌵
Hello!I ran my first 6 miles this morning..Things are as you've mentioned in your great review..The only disappointing fact, to me, is that the the Achilles tendon area was irritated because of the high ending of the shoe. Similar to Pegasus 35..But I'm sure it'll soften up eventually. Cool shoes! Nikos, Greece.
It takes a few runs to bed a new shoe in most of the time so I'm sure it will soften up 👍 Really glad you enjoyed the review and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
Great review. It is a shame I cannot find this shoe in the market I live in, albeit a boring one. How does it feel on pavement? I am looking for a shoe for runs from doorstep to simple trails and gravel road. Would this shoe be good for that? Thanks again.
Hi and thanks for watching the channel! 👍🏻😀 The Supercross is really good on most surfaces. It’s designed to run door to trail 😀 It’s pretty well cushioned for the tarmac and has a good lug for loose trail or mud. The only thing I did find on a few road surfaces when they were wet I did lose a bit of traction! Not all roof surfaces but some. For the money I think it’s a great shoe! Hope this helps and Don’t forget to subscribe 😉👍🏻
Not all the time Tim 🤔 I might sometimes put in some of Inov8's Boomerang footbeds, depending on how the shoes feel and fit. Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
Not all Salomon shoes have rock plates. I’ve run the shoe over lots of rocky terrain and it runs fine even without a plate. I was looking at next season’s Salomon shoes today and they’ve taken the plate out of most of there shoes 😀 Thanks for watching the channel 👍🏻
Yeah it actually works OK doesn't it Jonathan, I still think it looks a bit untidy though 🤔 Thanks for watching the channel and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Hi Carlo You could but it has got a pretty deep lug on the outsole so maybe not the best for casual wear 😀 Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 👍🏻
I use stability shoes for road running and have just started getting into trail running, there are hardly any stability trail shoes. Are stability shoes need on a trail or is it counter acted due to the terrain therefore making neutral shoes fine for over/under pronators? Thanks in advance.
Hi Paulio Stability in your shoes when trail running doesn’t really matter. Because Trail is a less repetitive surface it’s much more forgiving 😀 That’s why you don’t really find trail running shoes with extra structure for over pronation. Hope this helps 👍🏻 Thanks for watching the channel it’s really appreciated and don’t forget to subscribe 😉
Hi Nugraha The Alphacross is very similar to the Supercross. I did mention it in the review 😀 The Alphacross has a slightly different upper and a standard lace rather than a Speedlace. The Alphacross RRP in the UK is £80!!!! For that kind is money it’s an excellent trail shoe 😀 Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 👍🏻
The Alphacross has a standard lace and the Supercross has Salomon's speed lace. Plus the Speedcross has a few more overlays on the upper. A part from that they're very similar. Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel John 🎄🙏

Which is the best choice, Supercross or speedcross 4?
I personally think the Supercross is the better shoe 😀 Firstly it’s cheaper! It’s a lot more responsive and comfortable 👍🏻
Do u switch out the insoles?
Not all the time Tim 🤔
I might sometimes put in some of Inov8's Boomerang footbeds, depending on how the shoes feel and fit. Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
No rock plate is probably why it feels softer in the midsole? This must be the first ever Salomon without a rock plate, curious.

Hi, what about Contagrip TD compound and how it resists to wear in time?
Hi Marius
Thanks for watching the review 👍
The TD rubber is pretty durable, my are holding up really well! 😊
Hope this helps.
@@Run4Adventure thanks ! 👍
You get pretty used to the lace storage after a while. I prefer this to their tongue pocket
Yeah it actually works OK doesn't it Jonathan, I still think it looks a bit untidy though 🤔
Thanks for watching the channel and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
How does it do on street running?
It’s pretty good for a trail shoe but if it’s just road running you’re doing I’d look for a different shoe 😀
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Hey, true to size?
Yep definitely true to size 👍

Hi Carlo
You could but it has got a pretty deep lug on the outsole so maybe not the best for casual wear 😀

Coz I bought 2 pairs of this, i want to use for trailing and the other one for casual wear if ever 😄 anyways thank you! 😁

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ALPHA CROSS AND SUPER CROSS??. THEY LOOK IDENTICAL. NOBODY SEEMS TO MENTION THIS.
The Alphacross has a standard lace and the Supercross has Salomon's speed lace. Plus the Speedcross has a few more overlays on the upper. A part from that they're very similar. Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel John 🎄🙏

@@Run4Adventure me neither. Read it a few times and still no idea.

@@Run4Adventure I have no idea too, maybe the commenter have a crush on you lol.
They are waterproof? 🤔
The pair I reviewed weren’t it they are doing a Gortex model 👍🏻 Thanks for watching 😀
Run 4 Adventure Ok, thanks
