The Supremes took this to the top of the Billboard 100 chart during the summer of 1964, selling 2.5 million copies. Much covered, their version has never been topped, until the Drums made this their own. wow, Wow, WOW! These guys deserve to get lots of airplay & exposure! Thanks for posting!
Very Manchester-ian sound, with flavors of The Smiths and Joy Division, wrapped up in Factory box designed by Warhol himself. Something that could be listened loud in Hacienda during new wave music block, before Stone Roses.
There's potential all over this song, but it is too unorganized. It's three good songs put into one. And please get rid of that initial long drum roll. It definitely doesn't add anything. But I love different parts of this song. Great job to the band. But filter yourselves, refinement.
everything about this makes me sad, from the unimportant things like their sleeves being rolled up and their trendy haircuts to the more important things like them completely flushing this song down the shitter and the fact they're doing it for the sun.
Still come back to this every so often and it always hits!

almost as praiseworthy as Soft Cell's version

Just murdered a classic. Leave to Ms D Ross and co to do
6/10 total.
10/10 for the arrangements, and 2/10 for the execution.
Been listening to the Strokes too much.
be my boyfriend--kimberley
Hardly ruined a good song just a considerably different take on it
everything about this makes me sad, from the unimportant things like their sleeves being rolled up and their trendy haircuts to the more important things like them completely flushing this song down the shitter and the fact they're doing it for the sun.
That's a bad version
Of the song? Not really.
