Great to see more of this series! I can help answer some questions you had in the video: First Plastic glue vs superglue: Plastic glue is usually preferable to super glue when you can use it. It dries MUCH faster, and has similar if not better strength than super glue in a lor of cases. It works by having acetone in there with the adhesive, so it is literally melting and welding the parts together. however, you can only use super glue on polystyrene plastic minis, the acetone won't melt resin or other materials minis come in. superglue also does not have a great sheer strength, so its prone to breaking off when dropped or hit with any sudden, sharp forces. It is also handy to keep around to re-glue painted minis, since plastic glue does not work as great on surfaces that are not the raw plastic. Priming before gluing: in most cases you can fully assemble a figure before priming, however you may want to keep some parts separate in some cases. This is called sub-assembly. Some people prefer to keep the heads of minis separate , or to keep crew off vehicles and such in order to reach better. Its ultimately up to you for what you think would make painting that particular mini easier. glad the bit about washing off paint came in use for ya, Its saved me plenty of times when I've messed up.

The glue thing really isn't that difficult. Use UHU glue. Add a little paint to a blob of it. Then use a cocktail stick to apply it. Just move it slowly from point to point. You'll get the hang of it quick. Also if you use the glue without colour it makes great looking drool when it dries. Dead easy to do.
The wooden stick is a coffee stirrer I got from a coffee shop! 😂❤ it stops the risk of you ruining your brushes and allows you to layer the product on a little thicker x
SO excited you bought more boyz. Not sure how many people have and will answer but the plastic glue is MUCH stronger than super glue because its not really glue, its a chemical that will melt it together! Super glue will actually be the less permanent option so some people prefer it because you can break it apart as its just glue holding the two pieces together while plastic glue fuses the pieces. Generally you will need super glue for anything that isnt plastic such as resin and metal miniatures, I often use it for adding special touches to the bases like bits of bark. My favourite glue out there is tamiya super thin cement as it melts the plastic and can be applied so precisely that you can even apply it after the figure is assembled to melt off mould lines in areas its hard to get a knife and most importantly you can apply it over gaps and it will close them after a few layers. Some people take this a step further by buying a second bottle of tamiya cement and putting bits of the left over plastic from the sprues the models are made in. This creates a thick goo made from the melted plastic you can apply into gaps.
Hello Sheepy!!!! Thank you buddy - I share your excitement for the BOYZ. I really look forward to making them look even more battle worn and gruesome to look at. Hey thank you so so much for all the advice on the glue, let me write all of this down and when I’m in need of some more I can try out the brand that you recommended. Different glue for different minis. Plastic glue for plastic obviously and superglue for resin or metal. Also for plastic glue I highly recommend Revell Contacta. It's got a needle applicator thats a lot more precise. You won't waste as much, the whole bottle won't dry out and you'll have more control. And if the needle does dry up, just run a lighter along the needle. It'll burn the glue out in seconds and you're good to go again,
Thank you Steven - this is great and I will write down your glue recommendation. Really appreciate your comments and help buddy! I hope you have an amazing weekend 😃👍🏼
Glad you remembered you can wipe mistakes away :D Looking at this mini it's a pretty decent improvement over your first one, paint thinning is the most improved. I'd say this is the level of quality most people aim for tabletop standard. I would say keep pushing it, put a black wash over the metallics, and highlight the edges(particularly the Axe head) with silver or a bright steel metallic paint, also paint those rivits connecting the hood too. Add some bright brown highlights to the edges of the robe and hood.. don't worry about it not being clean or accurate, you can always come back in with the your normal brown to clean up the lines. You can also use the photo you took as reference... see the light reflection going down his left leg? just paint a light brown line in 1 stroke over that part. I find highlighting probably the most engaging part of the whole process so don't be afraid and give it a go. Most edge highlights can be applied easily by just going along the edges with the side of your brush(think skateboard grinding a rail), like on the axe, you don't need skill to do those parts.

Then put the colour over the top of that. It'll define it more. Just need to make sure you leave a little bit of the black around the edge.

They don’t have to be perfect or even good! All that matters is that you just relax, have fun and escape reality for a little bit. You’ve got this ❤️ I’m here if you want to chat about it!
So you only want super glue when sticking together metal or resin models. Plastic glue is perfect for plastic models as it fuses the two pieces together, making them almost impossible to pull apart
@@star_wars_miniatures okay cool, thank you buddy. So how come super glue doesn’t do the same thing? In fact don’t worry about answering that 😂 I don’t expect you to explain the science of it to me - especially on a Friday night! I expect you’ve got better things to be doing haha!
@@EzrasJunkyard super glue will indeed stick plastic to plastic, but I wouldn’t recommend as it’s so brittle. You want a really strong bond between the pieces. Once dry plastic glue is like a hard cement and almost melts the two pieces together. Plus plastic glue doesn’t dry instantly, giving you time to position things perfectly before applying pressure!

i really wanna buy a set but painting is possibly the most intimidating part for me
Hey buddy - I totally get why painting would be so intimidating, they’re going to be your minis, no one has to see them, you can paint them how you want and in what ever colours you want. They don’t have to be perfect or even good! All that matters is that you just relax, have fun and escape reality for a little bit. You’ve got this ❤️ I’m here if you want to chat about it!
Yaaaaay ❤❤❤
EPIC DISPLAY PIC. Aust will be SO happy to see this ❤️
The plastic glue melts the plastic and welds them together and super glue doesn’t
Thank you sir - that is good to know! 🔥
Plus plastic glue doesn’t dry instantly, giving you time to position things perfectly before applying pressure!
hey man this is awesome, got my first little set of 40k orkz yesterday, almost finished painting. are you looking for an editor by any chance? where can i contact you? thanks
