  • Today on ‘In The Shop’, a 1937 Martin 000-18 is on Joe’s bench for a bridge removal. With the right tools and a lot of patience, Joe will remove the saddle and bridge to prepare this guitar for the next step of the bridge replacement.

No more Face Mask to muffle your voice! I'm not knocking Face Masks for their purpose, just the "progress of the Vaccine".
Love watching your Luthier and Woodworking Skills in action. A#1. Bravo. And all that hip hip hooray stuff.

Great to watch. Painstaking effort but it is a 1937 Martin. That replica bridge looked pretty accurate to my untrained eye. What was so off that a replacement bridge was deemed necessary?

Though you’re being extremely careful and taking your time to remove that bridge, it always makes me anxious to see metal spatulas against an unprotected vintage guitar top. Do you ever use a thin sheet of clear plastic to protect the wood surface and finish, while doing this type of work?
