I think that right wing politicians understand the power that education about racism can have in transforming the lives of young children, and they don't want that change to happen

Working for NYC I learned the secret about municipal "funding." A budget is an expectation of funding to meet needs, pieces of which get traded off for other needs, or cut for other municipal interests. So funding for the education of children classified as Special Ed rarely if ever get individualized to fulfill the children's Individual Education Plans (IEP).

Did you know that WWII Black veterans and descendants are STILL not allowed GI bill benefits? Can you imagine teaching WWII and GI Bill and not mentioning this. There is a bill in the house to change this. Authentic CRT seeks to uncover and remedy these inequities causes by systemic racism.
Interested to know the name of the Bill to support it. I will look for it. Thanks for commenting about it, I did not know and it is shocking and tragically consistent which is a regular state of affairs in understanding the unending negligence/ intentional violence of american history/ life.. Hoping the bill includes benefits for families of WW2 veterans that are no longer alive to receive them.

A remedy on the table is called the GI Bill Restoration Act which would provide descendants of these *1 million Black veterans* a transferable benefit that could be used to obtain housing, attend college or start a business. Congressmen Clyburn and Moulton introduced it. Can we get some conservatives to support addressing this *systematic racism* ?
This was so thought provoking. The statement " I don't see color/race" always sounded so dumb. Why? How could you not see it in this country where it was founded. What it really means is I don't have to think about it because it doesn't effect me.
An especially amazing segment. Two things, there are that small core who can exactly tell you what they think makes them white and that certainty makes them the ones to watch. Two,, while it is our responsibility to teach the next generation it does not absolve us of action now. I feel we put too much off on what the "young people" are going to do and how their job in the future is to make things better. Many of us over about 35-40 often use this as an excuse to not do our part outside of teaching and setting examples to follow and make any real effort..I say to all of us, roll up your sleeves.
Educators have so much to fight against these days. In many homes a child's first teachers are video games, movies, tv and social media. So by the time the school teacher gets them they have been indoctrinated to believe certain things and what's worse is those e-teachers spend about 6 hours with children daily including weekends and summers. Our value of where we spend our time and who we give ourselves to is misplaced.

A young Bm has a better chance of getting a PhD , BA, Masters Degree or becoming a lawyer, MD, engineer or even learning a good Blue Collar Trade to get out of poverty than he has of becoming a Professional Athlete. But for some reason the Blk Community over Glorifies Bm in Sports & entertainment while ignoring Bm who're: business men, white & blue collar professionals, Civil Servants ect. Then you get Blk folks who're educated live in white Surburba they make a good living while talking about Racism. When racism didn't stop 🛑 them from Achieving.
That's why Jesus said it will only be a few to make it in. Prof. Hunter said it, when she said too many people are benefitting from the bad and they don't want to give that up. Jesus also said what does it profit a person to gain the whole world and yet lose their soul.
