Really excellent. Much thanks for sharing it. What can I say. We lived this back in the day (1967-1979). As far as many of us were concerned, it was the only way. What was not to like. Surprised, and thank God, I've lived past 40. Never thought I'd get that far much less 25 years on top of that. Still rocking at 65. Peace, blessings and grace to all. We all need it.
I love all of you so much,,each time your movie is on tv I cant stop watching.. You take me back to the best times in my life, You are all awesome, plus I have you here on my tablet too. Forever your fan,,you ARE BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL

The songs were written by Nancy Wilson (of Heart fame, and Cameron's wife at the time) and Peter Frampton. The vocals were recorded by Marti Fredriksen and Mike McCready plays lead guitar.
Sergio: YOU ARE A GOLDEN GOD! My all time favourite movie and soundtrack which, I think I have somewhere...anyway, YOU are the best for posting this AND providing the link for the whole album! CRAZY 🎸
I MUST have had a past life in this time period cause whenever I see this movie and hear the music.....it strikes a chord in my heart and soul that I can't help but smile and tear at the same time. I identify with the band-aides in a way for sure. Girls who werent there for the fame and glory.....just to have fun and show appreciation for the music they love and the people who make it.
I worked as a grip on the filming of Almost Famous........one of the most fun films to be a part of the crew. Everyone from the cast to the technical crew were working so close together, it's nice when you're apart of a project like that where everyone is pulling no punches to put 100% into the film and into being apart of a team........ It shows in the final product of the finished film. Peace & Love
That may explain why it’s such a damn good movie! It’s one of my very favorites of all time. Kate Hudson and I are the same age. The movie was released the year we both turned 21 and oh what a year it was, though this movie will always remind me of a time in my life between ages 17-19… The best times of my life when I wrote my first song and this movie inspired me to pursue my love of writing. About 12 years later, a piece I wrote about a popular local record store was published in print in Record Collector News (an international publication) and I couldn’t help but think of ‘Almost Famous’. I have the movie and the soundtrack. I love this ‘Stillwater’ album too. The film and the music seem to get better with every new year that passes by. I’d love to hear all your stories from being on that set! I’m sure you have some great memories. Hope life is treating you well! 🌹

Always respected how much effort the producers invested into making Stillwater songs as good as they are. Thanks for having this on RUclips man. Fucking awesome.
To bad they didn't use any of the real Stillwater band's songs. I worked with the bassist of the real Stillwater. He said they offered them some songs. Mindbender would have been a good one. This is Bob by the way.
Wow! This is among the best records ever made for me😍❤️!! Never heard of it before so this was a nice treat on a Friday night with a cold beer 😘😍❤️🤘🏻👍🏻🌹💕..!!!

I found out it is really about Cameron Crowes experience when he worked for Rolling Stone magazine. He toured with rock bands. Went on to write screen plays for movies and direct them and was married to Nancy Wilson. What a life and a millionaire too. WOW!!!
Thank you Sergio Roldan for sharing this. These six songs would have been classic hard rock hits in the 70s. They could have composed three or four more in order to make a full album. I would have loved to see Marty Frederiksen and Mike McCready start a band together to play these songs live.
On the special edition DVD, you got a CD with all of these songs on it, which I unfortunately lost years ago. So happy to have found this!! These songs are only touched in the movie, but are SO good!!
A sincere Thank You to SERGIO! Finally someone put all of these songs together in an album format! Thanks again! Fantastic album! Thanks again sir! well done.

Stillwater was an American band of the 1970s, which played Southern rock with a folk flair. Their song Mind Bender charted in the top 100 singles in 1978. Cameron Crowe, writer for Rolling Stone magazine, first heard Stillwater playing in Macon Georgia at Unlce Sams night club and Lakeside Park. He ended up using the name "Stillwater" for his fictional band in his movie "Almost Famous." Audio and video are the property of the respective authors, artists and labels, provided for entertainment purposes only. But hey hehehe thats rockn roll man :) AND IM A GOLDEN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD with a dog who has fever :)
I love this movie. Cameron Crowe is on my short list of people whom I would love to have drinks with and bullshit about music and/or Led Zeppelin for hours. Incredibly talented guy.
The 'Almost Famous' Stillwater from Troy, MO is actually a composite of four or five bands I toured with back in the early 1970s- a little lynyrd skynyrd, a lot of the Allman Brothers, some Eagles, some Neil Young, and a large dose of Led Zeppelin. There was no band from Troy, Missouri, called Stillwater. But there was a Stillwater, and it turns out the band included a semi-famous harmonica player named Jimmy Hall.
Yes, the movie may have been based on the kid's actual experience for writing for rolling stone (the absolute worst), but the band is completely fictitious... they made the music for the movie.
There was actually a band from Warner Robins Ga by the name of Stillwater, some of their original music can be found here on youtube, Mindbender, I reserve the right and many others, and jimmy Hall was also from this area or Macon Ga former home of Capricorn studios but he was part of a Band known as Wet Willie famous for such tunes as Countryside of life and keep on smiling
They aren't the real Stillwater band. The real Stillwater band is from Warner robins ga. And started playing inthe mid 70s. One of their hits is mind bender.

The director's cut, or some alt cut was on youtube tonight, so I watched it. A few minor added scenes, worth seeing. What an incredible movie! I can watch it any time. But I like 'that thing you do' better, in a way. (which also had a DR, with very interesting added scenes). It's about being in the band, where this is about being with the band. Some of these songs are really great!
Shiet, fever dog and hour of need sounds a like a grunge stuff :D out fcking outstanding music I am falling in love with this band. The movie was so good, i regret that there's so few good movies that take me to the 70s and to the rock and roll culture.
Thanks Nancy Wilson, Peter Frampton, Marti Fredriksen and Mike McCready for these amazing Stillwater's songs!
I can't believe a band for a movie can be this damn good...
Ann And Nancy from Heart wrote these with Cameron Crowe, the director and Nancy's husband at the time.
Have this on CD still. I worked on the film for a few days, and they gave us copies at the wrap party. Frampton played a set too that night!

+Jon Doeringer Cool man... I will check it out...

Shiet, fever dog and hour of need sounds a like a grunge stuff :D out fcking outstanding music I am falling in love with this band. The movie was so good, i regret that there's so few good movies that take me to the 70s and to the rock and roll culture.
03:10 : this is what happens when you plug a Gibson in a JCM 800 or a Plexi....and nothing more! Pure rock n roll!
Really cool, I am enjoying every bit of this!
