Marty... that guitar is killer. But man..... the jamm was EPIC!! Brother, you are just such an amazing player. I get lost watching and listening to you play guitar. Amazing. Rock on!
Hi Marty, I slept in today and checked out my subscriptions and this was on top again wow I love your playing style it just makes me want to pick up my strat and try and play that good, well it looks like I need a ibanez.haha. Thanks
Awe Wayne, thanks dude. I appreciate you man. That's nice of you to say. Glad to inspire and provide some entertainment for you all. Keep playing man!!!
I've got one a couple of years ago, and I could buy it for a steal! So happy with it, its a beast! I've got the fluor green strings on it as well, which makes it sound a little dull. But I love this guitar, the S-series it probably one of my favorite models Ibanez ever made. Thanks for the vid and demo!
Marty Braddah….Aloha! Your playing is so on point, MOJO fingahs! That number you did is so dreamy and creamy….Nice playing Marty! Mahalo nui for sharing a Blast from the Past….
Nice score Marty…I find now that I’m doing more playing sitting, I really enjoy a light, comfortable guitar that kinda hugs my body…if you know what I mean…rock on my brother 👍
Working on trems has always freaked me out. I put a VegaTrem on my fav MIM strat and it was very hard to set up correctly. Nice find and great jamming! Love the effects. Very "Satchie".
Nice Marty! I am the same way...always looking for good deals locally on Craigslist or online via Reverb etc.....my wife keeps an eye on Estate Sales as well! Feels so good when you pick up a gem like this!
Awesome demo I remember when they came out with that anniversary series they did some RG ones and the Saber series ones there was a yellow one just like the one you have!🤟🏻
The S is for Saber, that think is cool I love that green. That’s the Ibanez Trem that rides on balll bearings I believe ? I believe the tremolo is the Edge ZR and the spring tension system is called the zero point or something, that bar hooked up by springs on the block is supposed to stabilize the trem like a trem stop but still be able to pull up too.
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker no problem I’m a little bit of an Ibanez nerd. I’ve never played the S series too much but I remember seeing the green one you got a couple years ago and I think maybe they made a pink one too ? I love that color of green though they got it just right. I’ve never played a ZR bridge but they are supposed to really smooth. The S series are so thin where as the RG series pretty thick for S shaped guitars. People don’t understand just how thin those S series are until they’ve actually held one and it was freaky for me anyway, this thing can’t sound good it ain’t got enough “ tone wood “ ha ha , they sound great at least yours does and I bet it’d be comfortable playing a couple or three sets on a Friday or Saturday night also .
@Marty5150 I have 2 of Fujigens own guitars. Seymour duncan pickups on both. Absolutely love them and would never sell them. The build quality is top notch.
Not sure if your still looking for one of those Ibanezs, but there are a couple on reverb right now. A little out of my price range, but there's a green one like this but with some John petrucci pickups and somehow still mint. Hope whoever gets it will take good care of it.
Congrats man 🎸 You might be interested in my little story. At the risk of being overly bold, I may own the only new old stock S1XXV green anywhere. I bought it when it came out and it has never been played since other than to change the awful green strings that were originally on it. I have thought about selling it, but it is hard to assess the price bearing in mind it’s unique condition. That said, I am a big S series fan so may never sell it. As for your trem, the hole on the top side you thought was an alternative arm location is, in fact, the hole where a retaining bolt was originally stored. This bolt is used to screw into the back of each string block on the trem when changing the strings. I also own a S570DXQM, which is a fancier version of the XXV but with a quilt top and binding. I also own a rare made in Japan black SF470, which as a fixed bridge version of the S but with a Gibson scale length and narrower Viper neck. They were around for a couple of years in the mid 90s, and it is in amazing condition for its age, pretty well like new. The S series is a great range and I hope you have many years of pleasure playing your green machine🤘🏻
Oh yeah, I forgot to add............awesome guitar. A friend has one as his main guitar. I think he's on his second set of frets. He's played that thing for hours every day. Great design and lightweight.
I used to own an Ibanez S420WK (Weathered Black finish) guitar that had the same ZR trem system as the one in this video, the thing I remember most about it was that it was a Royal PITA to keep in tune, a double-locking trem system is supposed to stay in tune no matter how much whammy abuse you give it, not my old S420WK it went out of tune if you so much as breathed on it, I think I remember paying over Au$8,00.00 or so for it.
Nice ! Great playing !! I had a red Viking and loved the trem., it was very smooth. The guitar was very thin and so was kind of weird playing as opposed to my other guitars. It also smelled funny. Ha ! Ha !
Marty my friend FedEx sucks! I feel your pain LOL they lost play guitar I ordered last year claiming that they delivered it. I fought for two weeks before the company delivered me a new one to my job. Decretar look sick and I have no idea what's going on with that tremolo. I only know Floyd's. It sounds great,!
I like the 50s style necks the best too but the Ibanez Rg are great guitars so got. My 7 yo grandson o.e for Christmas and of course a Femder amp 2 weeks ago I picked up a Les Paul 25 miles away for a cheap price it's the 60s style neck not one I'm a fan of but I paid the same you paid for your Ibanez then ordered a custom hard case ots a great time when we get great deals but I felt bad for the dude I got mine from due to a bad divorce she got half of what it sold for
Hi Marty, I'm from Indonesia where guitars are made. I like your review, but sorry if i ask, has the guitar been confirmed as authentic? Because you wouldn't believe what the DIY copycats can do with the tools they have here, you have to be really careful when buying a guitar made in Indonesia. Please correct me if i'm wrong, because at 5:05 i don't see the 25th anniversary logo in the guitar backplate cavity. Is there a possibility that the logo has been erased considering that it is a used guitar or the cavity backplate has been replaced by the previous owner?
Marty, let me just say, you suck! LOL I had a S540 back in the early 90s and have recently wanted another S series. I had a hard time finding a deal and ended up geting a RGA42HPTQM. (Ibanez and their names). You got a KILLER deal on that! Love the retro colors and that trem system is really good. -Dave
At the APT complex where I am the Maintanence Manager I see Fedex toss, throw, drop and launch packages all the time. They rarely even knock on the door. They take packages to the office all the time and tell us "they can't find the apt." I've seen fedex leave packages on a sidewalk 25 ft from any door. We tell all our tennants to avoid using fedex at all costs. UPS is getting slightly better (they at least knock) and the USPS guy we have is awesome. Fedex employees are nothing less than a satanic group of heathens who hate the world.
The hole on the opposite side of the tremolo (vibrato) arm is the screw hole that holds the allen tool for intunation of the trem. It misses that little tool

Total shred guitar!!! this is a side to your playing I haven't seen before. love it!!!
Thanks Mike! I'm a little eclectic. I should show more of that side I guess! 😎🎵🎵
I love this guitar, bought it from a pawnshop a few years ago. FYI it’s the missing intonation screw, at 4:58. Screws into the bridge .
400 is a steal for that thing! I've wanted a 25th RG and S for some time now. The Yellow color is also sick. Nice Find!
Yeh. I saw it and was like... well... I can't pass it up. I'm so glad I didn't!
Thing sounds great Marty, I like the color too. Cant miss that!
Thanks man! Yeh this green is like UFO alien green. Hahaha.
Marty Braddah….Aloha! Your playing is so on point, MOJO fingahs! That number you did is so dreamy and creamy….Nice playing Marty!
Mahalo nui for sharing a Blast from the Past….
If Vai had an S-model this would’ve been it👍👍 Nice find Marty!!
I agree. This is totally a Vai machine without the monkey grip!
Wow sounds amazing when you played it, and it sat in the rain 🌧 wow. If that guitar could tell stories
Hard to believe they wouldn't walk 20 feet up to the porch. Well... at least she's ok!
Really sounds great!! Great find🤘🤘🤘
Thanks so much man!!!
Great playing, love the sound
Thank you Timothy! 😎🎵
I am a huge Ibanez fan... Great channel Marty. I love your content!
Thanks so much for watching Tom! I really appreciate it man. Ibanez are great guitars. They are very consistent!

Thanks man. I was really pleased to find this one in the wild! 😎🤟🏻
Nice guitar, I remember playing one of those when they came out. I believe the "S" is for Saber.
Thanks man! Saber ... good to know!!!!
Marty you are a most excellent guitar player!!
Thank you man! 🎵🎵🎵😎
LOVE it! Huge Ibanez fanboi here but great find and playing!
Thank you man! I am really digging this guitar too. It's pretty incredible man. 😎🎵🤟🏻
Very cool guitar, sounds great. I look forward to seeing it in future videos
Thanks you. I will have to do some 80's lesson on this one!
Working on trems has always freaked me out. I put a VegaTrem on my fav MIM strat and it was very hard to set up correctly. Nice find and great jamming! Love the effects. Very "Satchie".
Great buy very def lep sounding demo. I’ve been thinking about picking up a wizard neck ibenez cause I never owned one
The single coils really can get that clean distorted Def lep things as well as the humbucker thick grind. This guitar is so versatile!
Nice Marty! I am the same way...always looking for good deals locally on Craigslist or online via Reverb etc.....my wife keeps an eye on Estate Sales as well! Feels so good when you pick up a gem like this!

Another cool guitar Marty. Has 80s hair metal all over it. Probably came from the famous Fujigen factory in Japan.
Good find, and good luck with it 👍
Thanks bro! I bet it did. It's a really nice guitar. Super solid and crafted so well!
@Marty5150 I have 2 of Fujigens own guitars. Seymour duncan pickups on both. Absolutely love them and would never sell them.

Nope. It's a 2011 model and made in Indonesia. See back of Headstock at 8:59. Still a fine guitar though!
Killer deal on a killer 80s Ibanez. It's a drag about the Wang bar but hey when you get lemons....LoL Great playing and tone. Great video
Thanks so much man! I really appreciate the kind words. 😎☮️
It's a 2011 model...
Mart, I LOVE that guitar! Do you ever sell guitars to buy new ones for the channel? I'd love an opportunity to buy that one.
Hey man! Thanks for the support! I actually sold this guitar a couple months ago. I'm sorry!

Very nice! I have an export S with a hard tail and love it. So thin. That thing has got it all! Love the color!
Cool man! Didn't know they made a hard tail version. 😎🤟🏻
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker Its a Gibralter bridge. It's made in Indonesia but has a 3 piece neck. (side by side pieces, not a scarf joint)
Awesome find! Looks and sounds great! 🎸🎸
Thank you! It's got a vibe to it that's just classic 80's. I'm loving it.
Congrats man 🎸

Not a bad smelling guitar! Haha. I have a kit guitar with a smelly neck. My unshark EVH build lol.
Ibanez is a favorite of mine!!!
I dig them too. I play fat necks so I just have to get adapted!
Steve V loves his Ibenez's high outputs tò sounds great my grandson loves chartreuse too so I swapped the poweer cord out for one
Most definitely. He sure does! 😎🤟🏻
Awesome Axe Bro Congrats!🎶🎶☮️

Thank you! I appreciate it. Sometimes the thrill is in the hunt. But this one was also in the after stage... it plays great. It's a keeper!!
The way you feel about Ibanez necks is how i feel about EVH necks. I love the guitars, but the necks are too wide for me.
Tremolo actually doesnt go up , that area is to put ur intonation tool, its like a screw and its missing in ur guitar
I love those S bodied Ibanez. Those trems are so smooth.
Yeh I just agree. I am very impressed!
Awesome Ibanez

Although they are very Slim guitars and I might be wrong (I'm always wrong) I think the "S" stands for Saber. (540S Saber guitar)
Used to have one in this color. I miss it. Wanted to come here and reminisce. =_)
Oh wow, I am surprised it survived shipping, that was terrible packaging. But cool guitar for the price!
Yeh. Packing was bad. And it was in the rain all day! 😩
Definitely a keeper....👍
Yes indeed. I will hang on to this thing for sure. It's got personality and the sound!
Hey in the 80s they were wearing those types of colors thanks to Daved Lee Roth
Yeh. DLR was the pioneer for these colors for sure! Yankee Rose man!
Almost bought one of these for 75 bucks from OfferUp. Guy didn’t want to ship it though. Would’ve been the deal of the century.
Awe man... that sucks! No shipping!
What are you plugged into?
Fractal AX8 with a Friedman BE patch and Friedman IR's 👍
Always hated the trz trems...never stayed in tune..even when I'd get it set up at the store it never stayed in tune.
But that color is so cool...slime green
My younger brother is Ibanez on the brain
Haha! Good for him man! 😎🤟🏻
very cool! ping me if you ever want to move on from this, I may want to buy that from you. Looking for something like that.
