Marty, thank you for this lesson. Fantastic song from the 80's. I'm with you, this comes on the radio, crank this and remember the great times we had in the 80's!!
Marty, I’m a rock and metal guy, but I always loved the outfield. I don’t care what people say: oh it’s pop music, I say, what is good is good! Equally as important the band, could do harmonies not just in the chorus of the song but in the verses as well so that’s fantastic!
love this whole era! Outfield; Bryan Adams' One Night Love Affair; the hooters day by day; Engine 999 -- something about that tone and melodic soloing is so pleasing to play and listen to
Wow, this takes me back. We had the album on cassette and nobody knew who the artist was. It was not until one of their songs appeared in Grand Theft Auto or something I finally figured out what the band was called :-D Great songs, thanks for the lesson!
Was just thinkin' about you yesterday! Wondered if you were still doing videos, haven't seen any in my feed. I told myself I was going to just go to the channel and scope it out today and low and behold! This shows up! Good to hear and see ya brother! This is a great tune, I'd have to sing it about 2 octaves lower! LOL!
Thanks for the support man! I'm glad you're still checkin in. Yeh this is a killer for vocal range... it's like journey and Boston. Need a really special singer to cover this one lol.
Thank you! I play medium Tortex (the yellow ones). Recently I had 100 custom picks made by D'Addario that are the same gauge and yellow and I like them too. The Tortex has a nice powdery feel that grips well and there's just enough bend for me in the mediums. I prefer 9-46 Ernie Ball slinky hybrids which are like 10 and 9's combined. I also like Ernie ball 9-42 D'Addario 9-42 for my floating Floyd Rose guitars.
Thank you for another great lesson! You always have great song choices.
I try to pick songs that are fun and doable! 😎🤘 (for the most part lol)

KILLER SONG! Rest in peace Tony Lewis!
Happy Days. Voices of Babylon, one of the best albums from the 80s. Killer title track 👍

I remember this one! Thanks Marty 🤘
I’m all in on power pop from that time, great music. Remember the Hooters, another huge band for my time. Thank you for these lessons.
I love The Hooters. Great band!! So original and different. Where Do The Children Go is so beautiful. Love that whole album.

Great song and lesson thanx again Marty! And their longtime drummer now is in Maiden for live shows replacing Nicko McBrain

great choice. Platinum Blonde next :)
Good lesson thank you. Great song. What is your preferred pick and string gauge, and does it vary by guitar? Thanks 🍻

Can I put a request in for TWILY or it's about time with Mitch Malloy
Agree...38 Special chug...Cars
I think 'Say It Isn't So' from the same album is a better song and fun to play. Very similar chord progression to 'Your Love'
Great tone!
Thank you!!! That's my favorite compliment to ever get. I really appreciate it 😎🎸
@Ranch5150SkinWalker
Welcome man!
What's your rig besides that badass LP?
