Thanks for the instruction man, I need to do this to my sequoia roof quick before the raining season set in. Also, thanks for the short, to-the-point without any crappy noise or music.
Came over from VanLifeRocks live. I'm Sue from Lucky Dawg Productions. Nice to meet you, Shawn. Good idea to do a video on taking off our your roof rack and finding your leak, and installing the new roof rack.
If you have caps over the holes for the roof rack, then yes. Otherwise you would have to remove the head linear and install some nuts and drill holes through the roof.
How can I possibly find a roof rack system I'm talking the long bars not the cross bars that run front to back... as my sienna 2017 didn't come with one the dealer told me they can't get them I ordered a off brand but the dealer said it didn't line up with the factory holes so it void any warranty...what is the deal is there any roof rack that will fit a sienna?
Thanks for getting back to me its 8nsane I'd have to pay about 2500 if I can even find one to get the dealer to find one ..its buzzare they don't make extras ..I'm still on the hunt from salvage yards...thanks take care🌞🕊
Is there any concern with anything falling in the roof liner that requires it to be dropped when removing the tip rack? I know on fj cruisers you need to drop the headliner. Thanks
What did you do to fix the leak? Just silicone over the bolt or did you do something else? Our 02 is still leaking after getting the windshield replaced so I’m going to inspect the roof rack next. I took off to repaint it years ago so I think that might be my culprit.
Two bars with support 175 pounds. I have four bars now and I have 100 pounds up top and I stand on my basket all the time and I'm 200 pounds. So 300 pound I know for a fact lol.
@@diyoverlander3672 I’m going to do it tomorrow the leak I have the water is coming out between the passenger side pillar behind the windshield where it meets the headliner is that where yours was leaking?

Hey great video.
Got a question. If you got a sequoia with out the roof rails. Can you install them? Probably not right.
If you have caps over the holes for the roof rack, then yes. Otherwise you would have to remove the head linear and install some nuts and drill holes through the roof.
Thanks man. I have been looking for a decent lift kit for my sequoia. Very limited options. What did you use?
I got mine from www.1stgenoffroad.com/#/

Have you found replacement bolts for the roof rack? Mine are old and the star is starting to wear away
Same year toyota sienna roof rack bolts. That's the secret.
@@diyoverlander3672 Thanks!

Silicone in the bolt hole.
Any idea how much weight each crossbar will support?
Two bars with support 175 pounds. I have four bars now and I have 100 pounds up top and I stand on my basket all the time and I'm 200 pounds. So 300 pound I know for a fact lol.
i have a leak how do i seal the bolt hole when i put it back together?
Shoot some oil based silicone in the hole, then put the rack back on
