- Watch before buying a used Maserati Ghibli because there are many reasons why this is a great car. This review features the 2014 Maserati Ghibli S Q4 performance model. If you are going to buy a used Maserati, please be sure to get a warranty. You do not want to be stuck with a Maserati without a warranty.

Slight mistake I said it was a 2015 in this video it's actually a 2014. Now OWNERS, I really wanna hear from you for this one haha. Let me know how this bad boy has held up for you. Thanks again everyone for watching, if you would like to see what cars I work on next, follow on insta @exhaustsports or you may become a Patreon member. Thank you and please do take care.
I’ve had zero problems in 2 years of ownership. I’ve had to replace the battery but that was it. Most service is easy to do at home apart from oil changes. All air filters, cabin, and intakes were insanely easy to replace and helped justify the maintenance costs.
Justin Wallace Yeah. Makes sense because I know that it’s usually very hit or miss with reliability. Either they’re not much of a problem or their quite problematic.
I bought a 2015 sq4, 50k miles. Super impressed with gear shifting smoothness and engine power. The engine purrs like a kitten. The exhaust note screams Italian and under over passes its always tempting to redline it. A really comfy and fun car to drive. Take care of it and perform routine maintenance and it will take care of you.
How’s going so far
Just got my 2014 Maserati S Q4 under 30k with mids 30s in miles
Feels good runs good
Very happy last owner took very good care as still looks like new 😊
I just got my 2014 Ghibli a few weeks ago. I love it!! Right now with Covid, driving my "G" fast is the only thing that is bringing me true happiness lol. The worst part of the car are the tiny cup holders. Drives beautifully and even smells amazing :D
Let me know about maintenance
I would like to know about maintenance as well
@@fnubcak I owned one for around 3 years, maintenance is pricey when done at a shop by oil changes and spark plugs is very easy, overall, the car is far more fun then any other comparable car, the sound and handling is amazing and the ride is truly great. I had sport suspension and loved the car, truly was an amazing car to own

I had sport suspension and loved the car, truly was an amazing car to own . I had a backup camera get moisture in it and had a new higher quality one put it with warranty, apart from that, it gets great mileage too. I would average about 34-39 on the highway and around 15-20 around town. They get a bad rep but I truly believe that it’s one of the best bangs for your buck.
@@justinwallace3848 thanks for sharing which year you have ? I am currently driving c300 2013 I love the car too much...fun to drive...was thinking about getting the 2016 c400 upgraded model...I am just scared for the maintenance for this car bro ....
A new one is stupid but used is a excellent buy. Under 30k is a steal. Suck for the person who brought it brand new.
is it expensive to repair?
@@p.capes1 if it’s major yes. They require Ferrari labor. Spark Plugs alone were like $180 to swap out.
Cool. The car has character, a big badge, cheap plastics, and needs a warranty. I guess you summed it up very well. Thanks as always for the great reviews.
Hahahahahahahahah yup there it is lol
😂
“ You can’t have it all baby.” Love it! Great video.
Haha thank you my friend I appreciate you watching!
I freaking love Italian cars with V6's and V12's please review the Maserati Levante if possible
Haha same yes I would love to these things drive great truly. Perhaps I may get the opportunity in the future, thanks again for watching my friend!
maserati is a small car maker they just do not have the money to develop most of the things so they grab some stuff out of the fca basket. lets hope they sell good so the quality keeps improving ! still like the brand
Owned by Fiat
I don't know why people don't like this car.that ghibli mean nice car💯
Looks like it's been in a crash judging by the poorly fitting trunk lid and the gap on the leading edge of the hood.
Then every new mustang has been in a crash as soon as they leave the factory lol
I love the looks of the Ghibili, lots of mixed reviews it seems. Hard to know if one would be a good idea or not. A unique looking car. If I ever owned one I wouldn’t drive it everyday.
Great review. Thanks for the info. I plan on picking up a Ghibli SQ4 this weekend. Cheers
How's the car done the last year?
@@chprod4303 love it. Drives amazing and sounds incredible.
@DucNguyen update on maintenance and reliability?
@@anthonymorales3478 no issues since I picked up the car. Meets all my expectation in performance and luxury. Love my SQ4!!!
You can get a CPO vehicle. It has a 6-year warranty.
It's not "Ferrari derived", it's a Ferrari engine, made by Ferrari, plain and simple.
"Ferrari derived" insinuates it was "based off of" a Ferrari engine. It isn't based off of Ferrari, it IS a Ferrari engine.
The inspiration for the Kia Stinger GT1
Cant wait to pick mine up next month
Did you buy?
Hey man love your videos I just found your channel about a couple weeks ago. I was wondering how the acceleration on this felt versus your stinger gt. Which felt faster? And handling wise how do they differ?
Hey so handling and acceleration would both go to this Ghibli but the Ghibli feels like a tin can whereas the Stinger felt more like a solid product
@@MeynMotorGroup ah thank you. Have u reviewed the new cla35 or a35?
And another One thanx bro keep up the Great work u always do 👍🏾😎
Of course my friend and congrats on being number 1 haha
Exhaust Sports Auto 👆🏾🤛🏾💪🏾
Cary Imports coming through with anotha one
Haha yup
Luke Edward11 They legit must be a pretty cool dealer to let Kevin review some of the cars he does and he’s not always that gentle on the cars (why his reviews rock) I guess they are probably getting some customers from it, but still not every dealer would be so trusting.
I think the one car that actually got sold due to my review was that white Genesis with 100k miles. Another local viewer came by and test drove the Lexus Lx470 but didnt buy it. As a whole tho, one of the other benefits dealers see which isn't evident at first is they will rank better on Google because I include all their info in the description so that's another good thing even if a car is not sold. I feel like that Trans Am I reviewed has a chance to sell out of state Cuz it's so clean haha
Good review... but the car is very unappealing from every angle imo, I don’t get the “swagger” aspect at all... It would look much better in any other color but silver too so that’s not helping, but really I’ve seen these cars around and just don’t get them... sorry!🤷♂️
It's in the badge haha
Having the exact color spec of this videos car, I take that personally.
I'm sure your Toyota Corolla is heads and tails more sexy....
@@hippiewithacowboyhat Nice try but I drive a 1989 Mercedes Coupe with a Ford V8 in it (which I installed myself).
@@CarswithNasha 1989 mercedes… next
Yet another nicely done review. You should review a Lincoln MKZ 3.0. Pretty sweet ride
Will def try to feature more lincolns on the channel! Thanks so much for your support!
I own a 2014 Ghibli SQ4. It's fully loaded with all the leather and carbon fiber trim. The one you are reviewing does not have the luxury leather dash/doors, paddles etc. Mine is much nicer. Check out the videos on my channel and you will see.
Nah it's not that nice
That's right James, let these punks know that don't own the car, how great it is
It's a great machine for sure I loved driving James here being a little prick about it hate when car owners are like that but I def see the appeal in Maseratis now would love to own one myself one day
i have a 2015 maserati ghibli with 38,000 miles on it and it’s not under warranty anymore. Service is no joke for the small oil change still gonna cost you about $850 at the dealership then they told me i have to get control arms that’s around 2700 then they have to do an alignment which is about 350 this might be my last maintenance before trading it. I’m thinking about swapping it out for the new CLS 53 mercedes you can’t go wrong with Mercedes benz. Ghibli is a sensitive car also they told me at the dealer to drive my maserati more and they said to drive it faster so i don’t get carbon buildup but you have to be careful because it’s easy to get a misfire and go into limp mode so you def have to be careful. i did get the car tuned and it’s so much fun to drive but again for a car of this caliber and price you can have a Amg
These cars depreciate faster than it’s 0-60... lots of recalls cheap materials ....good sounding engine but that’s about it.
Yea that's an accurate summary
My favourite design
Good review
Thanks!
I’m on it bro 💯
Haha you're the best bro thanks
Exhaust Sports Auto U already know Exhaust Sports Auto Representing
Big love OG
Exhaust Sports Auto Thanx bro Love your energy as long as your here on Utube ima be here to support 👍🏾
👆👆 Any new audience members out there reading this, it is viewers like Theodore here that make this channel possible and worthwhile
By the way you rev the engine , that car didn't last long! Jack
Love my SQ4. Blows all the other brands out the water .Say otherwise and most likely you don’t or never will own a Maserati or anything past 60k new lmfao.
Yeap... reliability was on my mind. LOL It is a sweet looking car. The right wheels would be perfect
Haha I know man, and yes there are some crazy wheels available for this car I think as big as 21" lolol that would look hot but I think that's the model where reviewers had issues with the ride 😂
Is the maseratti reliable?
@Real Napster okey thank you for help mate!
Need PaddleShifters “
That interior is horrible in design and materials and would 100% keep me out of one of these. The exterior design also doesn't seem to be aging very well either. This car is ready for a redesign.
Lol so basically anyone that can’t work on thete own care needs warranty 😂 that’s why it cost so much? I get the parts but like labor on me fam. I’m not worried about oil change all that crap this car cheap only bad part is the taxed parts nothing crazy
Is it reliable like a G80?
I owned one for 3.5 years, perfectly reliable, never had one problem and truly loved the car, I put on around 62k miles after buying the car CPO with 4K miles. It was a truly amazing car and I wouldn’t hesitate to get another one. If you have the money to afford higher maintenance costs then it will 100% be the car for you.
Another great review as always bro, but to me, purchasing this Dodge-erati is like putting cheap lipstick on a very ugly pig! And like a wise man once said, 95% of Maseratis are still on the road today- the other 5% actually made it back home
Hahahahaha I def hear you my friend. Yea I've never driven one of these cars before and I was so curious as to what it would be like. Kind of knew it would drive good surprised it rode well. Not surprised by the interior lol
Dumb
Fix. It. Again. Tony. 🔦🔎🔧🔩🔨
My dumb ass: is this shitty ass Chrysler cracked all the way down the back?!
Lolololololol that's funny but I would def have fun driving this Chrysler lol love this comment tho
@@MeynMotorGroup glad you enjoyed it haha I hope you get a response to your question to the owners but truthfully I think a ton of people are too smart to own a Ghibli! This car died April 19, 2017 and Doug Demuro killed it.
Ooh I enjoyed it I was legit laughing so hard I loled in real life. Yea I understand the world automotive world despises this car but I still think this was a success in that it made Ferrari levels of prestige accessible to normal humans as long as they are covered. I think that's all Maserati really wanted to accomplish with this lol hell i would love to have one lol
@@MeynMotorGroup yeah and then Alfa came and stole that thunder and they look better too in my opinion. There's still a market for the car though, unless FIAT just pays for a bunch of fake commenters on facebook, there are people that "love" their "Ghibli" .
What a POS. Had a Ghibli traded in last year at the dealership I work at, it was revving passed 4500 rpm with out some one gas pedal.
I appreciate you sharing your ownership experience what did you replace with?
@@MeynMotorGroup didn't own it. I'm detailer there. A person traded the Ghibli in for a 8 series I believe. I went to go check the car out and it when it starts up, it continued to rev pass 4500 rpm.
Haha gotcha that's crazy
Do you still have the ls460?
Nope got rid of it to get an LC500 or Hellcat manual but then well this situation happened.....
What made u want to get rid of it ?
Answer is right there boss
“ the presence of this thing” this car is bland af. Only thing cool about it is maybe the sound and the badge. The styling is bland. It’s a shame because Maserati used to be such a respectable brand that used to give the Germans a run for their money. Nowadays even a Kia Optima or stinger look better than this pos.
Kind of a subjective topic opinions vary i was referring to the majority of humans there are exceptions as you have proven to be one
Its not even a real Maserati....this model is made using cheap FCA switches and knobs. Even the infotainment system is pulled off an FCA. The Ghibli is made so you can look like a wannabe baller.
Well Maserati is owned by FCA what can you expect
@@MeynMotorGroup Exactly. But the average Joe prob doesn't know that. They see a Maserati badge that the Ghibli has as well as a more affordable price point, they're gunna assume it has the fit and finish of the Quatroporte. Every manufacturer has to fill certain price points I guess
Yup and that's what is most important to consumers they want to buy into the prestige and now they can. There are people out there that think Lexus is made by Ford nobody knows anything about cars, this is the equivalent of rolling up in a Ferrari and that's all that matters.
I considered a Maserati before I bought my last Vette but I was worried about the reliability. Unfortunately my Lambo is in the repair shop right now and I expected better reliability from Lamborghini but at least it's not a cheap repair.🤔
Yea unfortunately I still love the Gran Turismo and can certainly make for a cool lease. Sorry to hear that about the lambo I've actually heard from owners that their Gallardos and Huracans were surprisingly reliable. Probably still is when compared to other exotics
Miserati...
I don’t see the swagger.
Giblets :P
Lol how do you like em?
@@MeynMotorGroup I don't!
Hahahahaha understandable you're certainly not alone
