The Les Paul Custom didn't have an ebony fretboard from 2013 - 2019 - it was synthetic during that period.
The material was a paper/resin product called 'Richlite'.
I’m pretty sure that it has a richlite fret board instead of ebony.. but I don’t dislike the richlite if you didn’t know you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Cool guitar for sure.
Obviously, this guitar is a real rocker...it rocked the glasses right off of Lemmo's head!
Now to be clear, I enjoy Michael's presentation & playing, BUT, I do miss Mark telling us about the GOTD's that were sold. It's always nice to know a guitar made it's way to a good home.
That LP stayed in tune just two minutes and 49 seconds!

The fingerboard is probably Richlite being its a 2016 model. Still a nice guitar though.

Whoa that thing was smoking , Lemmo just lets loose on the Les Paul , don't remember you ever doing three heavier songs all in one demo , crazy dude , luved it , bangin your head in the early Wednesday. I think he is mistaken when describing the knobs, what he stated as the bridge pup knobs are actually the neck pup knobs and vice versa.
Lovinng the Lemmo jams. I notice sometimes (rarely) he doesn't play the songs like the artist but Lemmo rocks . Hands down the best at Norm's. I dig the use of the fender amp but i wish u would play thru a Budda18 or 36 or 45 or 80. They have , in my opinion the best tone of any amp except for a Marshall with kt66 tubes. I dont know what it is about that Marshall with kt66 that gets me but i had an amp given to me by my grandfather and it was a Marshall with kt66 tubes and i played my 76 white custom through it and I ammed RR and EVH and it had such awesome tone with only a tube screamer and a tuner and reverb g ok ing in front of the amp. It was stolen guitar and amp . My soul was lost. Now im into Budda amplification. Sounds great also Germino amps but i cant afford thoe Germino.
Str8shooter 1 The amps they use are actually for sale at the shop... unless it’s Lemmos giant Marshall stack. They used to have a vintage Magnatone until someone bought it. So if someone sold them a Budda...
Germino's are excellent. So are Brays, Friedmans, and the Metropoulos Metroplex. You can't go wrong with any of those 4 amps..When I bought my Friedman BE-50 Deluxe, my tone quest was complete, other than Maybe a Metropoulos Metroplex, which is an amazing Boutique Plexi Amp!
I'm a soon to be beginner and I think this is one of the best looking guitars out there and it's very likely to be my first one. Someone tell me I'm wrong.

Blues Brothers at Winterland, New Years Eve 1978, opening for The Dead. Thought you might be at this last show before they tore it down. Turn the quality to 480 for best resolution and sound.

Any vintage Ibanez guitars ?
Does anybody, that commented on this post, know what the necks feel like on a Gibson Les Paul Custom? I've never played one before. I just recently bought a Les Paul Classic from Sweetwater that I'm very pleased with, and like it's slim taper neck, although, I wish it's neck was a little more thin. Do the Les Paul Customs also have slim taper necks, or are they like baseball bats? I'm very picky about necks. I don't like them too slim, like Ibanez, but I don't like necks like baseball bats either. Always something inbetween the two that I like. Thanks in advance. Sonny in Nola.
The necks on Les Paul Customs can vary, however they tend to model the 50's rounded necks. The VOS Customs have an even more rounded neck, almost baseball bat-like. I put an order in for a 2020 model through Guitar Center that is still on back order!

If it's a 2016 it's a richlite fret board not ebony, and customs have been built by the custom shop for years, there is no non custom shop custom. Hasn't been for along time.

I have the same Custom in a beautiful heritage figured finish, and sounds much better than this Custom and it’s the same year 2016

I never liked the pickups they put in those. I had one from `1994 that had the 490 and 498s and thats what they keep using, Custom Shop or not. I prefer Burstbuckers or 57 Classics although my 1986 LPC has Tim Shaws. They are supposed to be revered but they aren't very good either.
Funny how people hear different things. I had an explorer with 57 classics and a les Paul standard with burstbuckers. Bought a studio with the 490/498 and was instantly hooked. Has that classic rock crunch to my ears. Felt my burstbuckers were too bright and the 57 was a little too low output. I guess that’s why they make more than one. Different strokes for different folks.
Richlite customs are hardly been selling well no one seems to want a guitar with processed plastic fretboard

Nice guitar, and pretty cool video, but doing a Randy Rhoads song, other than maybe, Dee, which was done on acoustic, through that Fender Amp, is Sacreligious, and a damn shame. If you're gonna play some Randy Rhoads, through a Les Paul Custom, and you want to use a Fender Amp, atleast do it on a Duo Sonic, or Pro-Sonic, for Christ Sakes. If you don't want to do that, play it on a Marshall or Friedman Amp, otherwise, it's like playing Flying High Again, on a Gibson Les Paul Custom, through a Hello Kitty Amplifier! lol
the silkscreen gibson logo on the back of the neck is kinda gross.

I think beyond any doubt Lemmo’s a fine player. As for GC, I was in the L.A. store in January, and never been in such a quiet dull shop...same in Sam Ash opposite and another in Santa Monica. Do people actually try before they buy outside of Norms in the USA?
