Japan looked like they were still in shock over their silver medal finish. My heart goes out to them.

What is wrong with the sound? The sound for the opening ceremonies was perfect. Now I can't hear anything except the audience and the sound from the apparatus and gymnasts! Can it be fixed?

Thanks for posting this. This is actually much better than TV. You get to see more gymnastics/ I love the commentators. I like the opening ceremonies.

To the person who said that Chinese haven't done "artistic" gymnastics since 2000:
You must have color eyes. Just look at 2008 Olympics! Who can deny the art, perfection and execution of Chen yibing on rings, Xiao Qin on PH, Li Xiaopeng & Huang Xu on PBs, etc.?! For 2012 Olympics also, Feng Zhe & Chenglong on PBs, ZouKai on floor ,etc., A 2014 worlds, Deng Shudi on floor, Chaopan Lin on PBs Liu Yang on rings, Chenglong on HB, etc., the list goes on and on. Yes, there were sone imperpect routines for Chinese, but who doesn't has? again, China has more than 3 points in D scores over Japan, considering all routines and scores, Chinese men's team deserves team gold.

Both of these commentators are very very good and most helpful in helping this unsophisticated fan understand what is happening with each of the routines.
Or at least they are when they can be heard.
    Thank You

I think that Japan should have won. : ( So happy for the USA...That was an awesome competition....wish I would have watched it live so I didn't already know the results. I did think it was an awesome moment though when the home crowd sang along so loudly to the anthem. It gave me chills.

The sound crew didn't do their job. I tried turning it up all the way, but was blown away by the other sounds and those of the competitors. Unfortunately lousy jobs on their parts.

I guess EVERYBODY is speechless about China's victory once again, as expected. Just keep pretending like it never happened. But I will congratulate them here. They never gave up even though the trouble happened right from start. Great job, China Gymnastics!!

Lin chao pan's twisting form on vault. yucks. and Lin did a horizontal piro on the bar. so horrible the fact that he got 8.333 for his hb routine is beyond me. bad judgement by the judges.

"Lin chao pan's twisting form on vault"
But if you look at Max's twisting form (Britain) and his score, you won't complain about Lin's score. China's Deng's score on vault should certainly be higher than 15.300, so are Yang Liu's score on rings and Lin's score on PB, both routines are almost flowless, yet they didn't receive the scores they deserve. In fact, Chinese have been underscored fro many years due to 2 major reasons: 1) Chinese don't have strong representation in FIG and FIG has been tightly controlled by a small group of people (check who they are and where they come from); 2)Most power judges are white, some unfortunately conciously or unconciously have bias, either racial or ideological, and they often judge Chinese more strictly. For twisted legs and feet people just need to see Nastia Liukin' routines, plenty of twisting, yet it did not prevent her from receiving generous scores from power judges!

The truth is China is willing to spend on developing outstanding athletes for competition only, much less than its mission to introduce sports of activities to the general public.

Wow, this is almost a complete new Chinese team, a lot of unfamiliar faces & names but all with incredible difficulties and risky skills, people will know and remember soon I'm sure. Ran Chen's fall on floor is due to "a newly learned skill" (coach). Great respect to Chinese men's team head coach Yubin Huang! Perhaps the greatest coach (11 Worlds team golds and 3 Olympic team golds) in gymnastics history! Huang's gymnasts include Xiaoshuang Li, Yang Wei, Huang Xu, Teng Haibin and monay other world and Olympic champions. Hope NBC or BBC can do an interview with Huang.

" 15.966 for the Chenlong´s performance? Something cannot be right here"
What's wrong with Zhang's score? His routine has 7.5 difficulty and he only receives 8.333 from D score jugers. In my opinion and according to judging standard used on some other routines at the competition, Zhang should receive over 16 points; his D score should be at least 9.

  • @andtam008

    No risk no reward!
If Team Japan wanna win, It gonna increase its difficulties. it'd be hard if Team Japan wanna win the competition with lower difficulties.
Zhang Chenglong scored 15.966 in the last HB is a fair score. 7.4 d-score + 8.566 e-score is a fair score. He only got a little hop on landing in execution. He got the same score in the prelim anyway.
Next week the 2015 WC will commence, let's hope China wins again.
    It'll be a record 7 in a row.
