What a great little gadget and looks very sturdy and well made. My DIY version is a cut down radiator L bracket with a chamfered notch cut out to take the roller wheel at the top of the door frame. It does the job, but not as elegantly 😊

Ok so just got my Autotrail series 8 and this fits perfectly. Im not sure why Fiat don't offer different intervals in the sliding door. Very easy to accommodate. I'm going to add I have only driven 250 miles in the new series 8 Fiat Ducato but I am getting 40mpg. I'm quite amazed and not sure how they have achieved this but with no lack of performance it's quite amazing for a brand new engine and it's super quiet and the power steering is non hydraulic. It's electronic. Very responsive and strangely amazing. New technology does work.
It's a fantastically designed engineering masterpiece but I prefer to use my balls Ian. Primarily because I like to be able to have the door slightly ajar at times . Great to see that you're on the mend buddy 😊
Yeah I know people have their own preferred methods but I like this option so much I thought it was worth sharing. I have balls but wasn't sure how to go about jamming them in the door. This just seemed more straight forward to me. 🤣👍

It just does what it’s supposed to do Colin. Stops all the warm air in the van from escaping through the big gaping side door. Ideal for me when it comes to letting the dogs out. 👍🏻

Nicely made and engineered. Think I will stick to the squash balls. Think you get a more precise positioning and it takes about 3 seconds to fit the ball. Nicely engineered but not for me. Thanks for the vlog Ian. 👍

Also to make it close sofetly what's best way? There's these silicone or rubber pads but they look gimmicky? Appreciate the wisdom? Thanks H England
@@HH-wh1xt the sport of squash uses cheap rubber balls. You can push them into the slide rail and hold the door wherever you like. Simple and cheap. I still have to slam the door though. Haven’t found a way to do softly. 🙏🧙♂️🚐

Unfortunately I didn't find anything under that ebay number. We have these sliding doors all over my flat with finger pull knobs and the doors slide past the finger pulls. I worry that someone is going to chop someone else's, kids possibly fingers off one day with this, hence looking for a solution.

Hi David. Good luck with the cv 40 delivery date. Excellent choice young man. Good question about the window. The window has a bracket fixed to it to prevent you opening it any further. I guess you could remove that and then it would open without being damaged by the door. Personally I sleep with my head at that end and I like to open that window while I sleep. I like the fresh air and it helps to prevent condensation. 👍🏻

Hi Alan. I’ve asked the seller and he says that if the side door has the 3 holes then it will work exactly the same. I will try to find out more for you from fiat. My van is in on 16th December so I will have a look at a new model then and check for the 3 holes. 👍🏻

Good idea…but it will only work for UK vans not Continental vans. I bought one and didn’t realise the unit is side specific.
