I quite like the selection of games you both are reviewing, but ... we need to talk about the rather questionable choices of Alexander's ...err colorful shirts sometimes. Was his childhood hero Thomas Magnum from the "Magnum PI" tv show?
This is much more focused on the actual walls etc than Quebec. I (Alexander) like it more in that sense. Quebec doesn't feel very "siegey" if you catch my drift.
Does the game reflect the real history of the siege of Vienna in 1683? It had ended with the successful attack of the relief forces of the Polish King Jan III Sobieski on the Ottoman forces...
The games ends in an Ottoman loss at the end of turn 5 (when then Polish forces show up), but you don't play that part out. It's only a 35 minutes game.
@@ThePlayersAid So it really is a game focused on the siege rather than the final climatic battle...I guess they assume if the Austrians hold out the Turks will loss. Too bad since I would find the final battle more interesting.
@@dcb5176 The final battle was pretty much a curb stomp. The Ottoman was so exhausted and they faced enemy from both sides. Their only winning scenario is taking over the fortress early and use it to defend against the relief force.
Glad to hear it was easy to learn :) Worked to get the rules short and clear.
Just picked this up. Can’t wait to play. Thanks for the great review.
I'm ordering it!
Pre ordering this!
This game looks awesome! Great showcase guys!

We are all asking ourselves about the fashion choices! He is far too young for Magnum PI.
Thanks for the review. In terms of siege games, does it compare to a game like Siege of Quebec for exemple? How would you compare them?

@@ThePlayersAid Sounds like Vienna is more a "Breach" game versus a "Siege" game :) Thanks for the response.
@@patrakis Yes. That's probably a better way to put it!
Gotta say. You could have done this on the radio.
