I think it should be clarified- you dont have to start a new character if you dont want to participate in seasons. You can continue to play your current character on the eternal realm
@@bile897you’re gonna want to play seasons. I thought the same thing in d3 but seasons give you massive power. I mean there aren’t any set gear items but it’ll be similar

Or having ridiculous intros and not getting to the point. The amount of ads some content creators do on top of the RUclips ads is just annoying and makes the videos frustrating to watch.
I don't understand the appeal of this. I work my butt off to make a high-leveled, well thought-out, and highly geared character, just for none of it to matter in three months and I have to start from scratch again if I want to experience new content?? WoW, Elder Scrolls Online, among others, have been able to figure out how to get people to enjoy the new DLCs without forcing you to start a whole new character.
I’m really new to Diablo. This season was the first time I got any character over level 50 and exploring all the endgame stuff has been extremely cool, like whispers, etc. I had so much fun finding the right weapons and the right aspects that are cool. I’m really interested to see what drops I will get and how everything changes each run. I won’t be deleting this character as I am stoked on them and want to remember them, and I need to remember what aspects worked out really well so I can kind of rebuild this character again. I did incinerate sorcerer I think only because early on I rolled obals and got a super powerful staff that split incinerate into three, and I’ve been running with that style ever since .
For all my friends that were laughing at me for farming all the altars, guess who is laughing now 😊👌 thanks for the altar farm tip at the beginning of the season!
Actually have been enjoying reading the comments because of the positivity everyone’s been giving this man, honestly well deserved & I can’t imagine the levels of dopamine y’all are giving this gentleman
I feel like gamers can read through BS or people chasing views or numbers.. this man is original and zero filter... it's what gamers want as a review or information given.
I love how concise and well worded these videos are, and all apparently memorized or said on the fly, not read off a screen. Truly impressive and informative. I've actually played seasons in POE and Diablo III and this was still a helpful video because of things that make Diablo IV distinct, like the open world map, renown and Lilith statues. Thanks alot!
I still think the reasoning behind why you have to make a new character for each season is ridiculous. To keep it fair, let's make it so that everyone starts at the beginning! Well, no. If I happen to begin playing the game for the first time in the middle of a season, I first have to beat the story to unlock the seasons. I'm going to be so much further behind than everyone else. What happens to the character I just leveled up during the season? Don't worry, your character isn't deleted when the season ends, they just go to a server that no one will be playing on. You're basically retiring a character that you won't bother playing again. It's just a stupid excuse to keep grinding in the game and leveling up countless alts that eventually do nothing. Best advice to anyone thinking about playing Diablo 4 is to play a character you have little to zero interest in playing and beat the story. Then when the season starts, play the character you want to play and ONLY play that character until the next season. Now choose a different character and do everything you want in that season, rinse and repeat until you've played all of the classes you wanted to play. Congrats. Did you have fun? Now ask yourself if you want to keep doing that or just quit the game and go do something else.
FFS I was waiting for this explanation. DM is the best Channel for new players like me to understand ARPGs. Not going to find anyone else who is more direct, articulate and to the point. Thank you for all you do
I'm glad you made this DM. I have forgotten more about Diablo 2 than most people will ever learn, back then they were called "Ladders," and seasons as I understand them are more about content and steady DLC drips. The last ARPG I played was Grim Dawn, Titan Quest remastered before that. I'll wager I have more time spent on the genre than the vast majority of D4 gamers but I had completely different assumptions about what "seasons" entailed until about a week ago. Honestly frustrating that my current character will be basically irrelevant in a couple weeks.
It’s all irrelevant. None of it actually matters. The only reason it matters to us is for the sense of connection to others.. a social need So then you’re saying that you won’t be getting that sense of social connection if everyone else is playing season 1 .. and you load up your immortal character. Basically most things are all about the social emotional need.. and we find REALLY long ways around meeting that need.. via eg grading in a game like this. Or watching reaction channels etc. Whereas if we all knew how, we could meet this social need more directly.
I remember i saw some of your videos when i was curious abour diablo immortal. It was so infornative it kept me from wasting time and potentially money on that game. Now youre doing diablo 4 and it is greatly informative.
Congrats on the success man! You deserve it! It was no fluke or mistake, you haven't just been blessed with luck, you are here because you are authentic and relatable on a level where I believe both casual and advanced players can benefit from your knowledge. You have a way of breaking all the jargon down so that people like myself can more easily understand and therefore extract more enjoyment from the game overall. That said I also support you just being you and any content you release I would also be interested in viewing. You don't have to just be the diablo 4 guy, I would definitely watch other game reviews and guides you make for other games as well. So keep it up man and do what you want to do, much respect!
Liked and subscribed. I’ve been confused as hell because people keep arguing about the season positively and negatively and making different claims this makes sense. Definitely gonna be following your channel for advice and videos and stuff

@@transalchemy785 I highly doubt that will be the case. Although if you don't complete the campaign you will have to complete it in the season, likely from the beginning. Completing it now will allow you to skip the campaign when beginning a seasonal character.
DM killing it as always. It's been interesting seeing a lot of confusion around seasons, I think it speaks to how many new players are trying Diablo 4. Hopefully lots of them give seasons a go - I know it can feel weird to start a new character at first, but there's a ton of fun to be had from trying out the new mechanics and re-leveling alongside the rest of the community. If you're someone reading this who doesn't have a lot of time to play, the eternal realm is perfect, but if you have time to play a bit more often give seasons a try!
@@isiaac5715 Yeah, you can. The seasonal realm will have some unique events that let you level up faster, or give different gear, so it's basically a way to replay the game with new features. But if you prefer to just keep playing your eternal realm character, and progressing the story and your level there, you can just do that. When a season ends, the seasonal characters will become eternal characters too - so if someone really likes their season one character, they can keep playing that instead of playing a new season two character, if they prefer.
I'm one of these people. New to the season model. At first glance it looks like running laps in old content. But if enough new things come with seasons I can understand the attraction. Does new maps/bosses/communal objectives of sorts tend to come with seasonal content?
@@mr.neqtan It kinda depends on the game, and they haven't specified exactly what it'll be for Diablo 4 yet. But as some examples, one recent Diablo 2 season (yes they still support it, at least in its remastered version) added "Terror Zones" - these are actually a bit like Helltides in D4, harder areas that appear with a chance for better loot. Another season added new runewords - allowing players to craft completely new unique items that changed several classes. Diablo 3 seasons usually introduce new set items (gear where, if you collect all 4 or 6 matching pieces, you get special bonuses). The most recent D3 season that DM mentioned here has this "altar" that you had to collect specific items for, and at each step unlocked upgrades tbaf would make all of your seasonal characters more powerful for that season. There were about 30 in total, ranging from "+20% damage" to "you can walk through enemies & enemy-created walls" or even "all low-quality gear that drops near you is automatically picked up and turned into materials." As I say, we don't know quite what D4 will bring yet, but I'm looking forward to finding out. Hopefully they'll bring something particularly cool for season one to show it off to newcomers!
@@kenallsop7502 I appreciate the time you took to give examples. It would be smart if season one sold the concept well. D4 seemingly attracted a wide demographic of gamers.
New Diablo player here. Thanks for the video, I was worried I would be losing my characters but you sorted it out nicely and I'm looking forward to having more reasons to log in and play the game.
I had fun reaching my barb to 100 completed all the renown and maxed out my glyphs. I don’t think I would want to do that again. Great video very informative.
This is literally the Diablo gameplay loop. It’s pretty standard in aRPGs. Each season plays differently for the most part, and gives us a real reason to try new classes. But as the video explains, your existing characters still exist - they just don’t play inside the season (ladder boards, rewards, etc). No, it’s not for everyone, but seasons are what most Diablo players sign up for. The game to date has literally just been a waiting period for a lot of us :)
@@owisun85Well the next time you go running in the hamster wheel alot of things will be different even if you play the same class. New items will open upp new ways to play and i think new world events will spice things up asweel. Also it gives me and my friends a chance to start over together rather than chasing eachother being unable to play together thanks to level gap.
I'm new to all of this so I'm sure I've completely missed the point of Seasons. But my goal is to hit level 100, min/max my character, grind away for that 'drop' I know could happen, etc --- why would I want to be say lvl 82 and have spent 2 months working on this character to just stop playing it and start at level 1 again -- and then 3 months later - stop playing that character and start at level 1 again - and again and again. For those of us that don't have the luxury of playing 2,3,4,5 hours a day - I'll never get anywhere if I'm starting over every 90 days.
Bruh, I basically was forced into dropping minions after 60 and I wish I didn’t have to. I very much enjoy the Shadowblight build I’m using but at the same time, I miss my army every day.
@@moviebad109it's possible to overpower them, but i think it requires a specific ring and some solid end game gear. It's a shame cause this is always the issue. I remember making a minion necro in D2 and almost every boss would wipe them early fight. Dunno why they make a necro who's pets are alwaus trash.
@@moviebad109 im level 66 using blight and minions, paragon trees focused on minions. They aswell as iron golem manage to kill dungeon bosses by themselves, gear wise at the moment for minions i only have the +2 mages and +2 warriors.
So have to do the same quests, explore same places, kill same mobs. To give all your time for what? To try a new build? I seriously can't understand seasons. It's really stupid to me. Why not make a season for the people that don't want to start over? I don't understand how people are ok with that.
Yeah, it’s really odd to me. You spend the main game getting the gear, gems and have your character as powerful as possible only to have to make a new one for the season? Why they just can’t add tougher challenges throughout the life of the game like a Destiny or something is beyond me.

I have NEVER seen a channel explode like this one! I found you at 25k ish TWO WEEKS AGO and now you’re at 175k. Unreal dude, congrats and props!! Very well deserved.
First diablo here and i gave it a big chance and had massive FOMO with friends also playing the game, i can't help but feel super disheartened that they're sticking with what apparently isn't much different from previous games, to experience the season, you need to make a character each and every season to see what it has to offer, and if you don't want to commit to that grind, oh well, tough luck i guess? That's so punsihing for those that can't dedicate hours upon hours upon hours worth of time, but want to.. from my understanding, the over-arc's of story and stuff, to treat this as little mini-DLC's is gut wrenching.. it feels like i now have to rush through my main character to get it where i want to be, before playing season 1, picking another character, doing it all over again, just to experience the campaign like missios/objectives to experience any type of DLC/Expansion feel within the seasons outside of the expansion releases.. That's so... ugh.
That's a fair point, but have you ever experienced the start of a new season in an ARPG? There's something really special about the whole community starting new characters at the same time every couple of months, seeing the towns and zones full of people, new mechanics, new items, new builds to try out, a unique journey every time. It's a weird concept at first glance, but only once you experience it you begin to appreciate the replayability it adds to the game
@@venenifer3569 i personally can't say that i have, i usually struggle with these types of games but i took a dive and was glad i did and have poured as much time as i can into diablo 4, it's been an amazing experience so far, but as what is commonly known as just a casual-ish type of player, i can't help but feel that it's just disheartening that if i want to experience any overlapping story/extra story/continuation of arcs, i will have to repeatedly create a character, each and every season.. for me it feels like an extra level of uneccessary grind taking away from any main characters i may have on the go, to pour time into essentially what could ultimately become throw-away characters just to experience the "experience" of each and every season.. I'll give it a go for sure and try to play as much as i can and when i can, but with limited time availability coming up in the future, i can't help but feel it's time and essentially money wasted purchasing a battle pass to experience this, if it is going to be stuff that i will ultimately miss out on massively i choose not to participate in the seasons.. (Sorry for the essay of a reply)
I think you misspoke a little. You don’t have to create a seasonal character if you don’t care about the seasonal journey. You can play your eternal character during the season and still get new gear and drops. You implied this later but at the beginning of the video you said you had to make a new character. There are a lot of people that are confused so I thought I’d throw this out there. I know you know the details.
You can get new gear but they will probably make "Season Only" gear that won't drop in Eternal until season is over. No way they would just release new content onto eternal, why would you even play a season then.
He didn’t misspeak. He just didn’t spell out that to take advantage of the seasonal progression and loot, seasonal character is needed. This is clear for most watching as they purchased the deluxe and or plan on purchasing the season pass.
every season i've played you needed to make a new season character to get the season items. have they changed that, or were you just referring to how a bunch of people thought this was gonna be a mandatory thing and need to reroll?
@@ELFottler in D3 I could play with my eternal char and get the stuff right away. If I played a seasonal char I would get the new seasonal set as part of the journey in addition to a lot of boosts. The eternal character even got the in game seasonal buffs. The eternal character would not get to do the journey or get the benefits from that journey. As DM said, the main reason to do the seasonal is for that journey. It’s also a good time to make a new character as there wil be buffs. Also, I’m D4 you will get all the seasonal cosmetics only in your seasonal character. So there are a lot of reasons to do a seasonal but they may not be important to some people.
Honestly after I finish my characters on release I probably won't be back. The intense focus on seasonal content and deleting characters makes playing feel extremely pointless. Returning may also be a big problem if there is a lot of seasonal fomo.
Love this video man and this is the answer to one of the big questions I had personally! Thank you for the top tier content to watch on my break at work 👌
Given how much time I can sometimes put into games like this, I can often touch some of the mid-late game. But having to start a new character is going to feel a little daunting. I got to level 60 in about 2 weeks, probably not grinding efficiently as I've still got 90% of the dungeons left to do. I shall give it a shot though, if they enhance XP to make that re-grind a little less tiring. It's mostly losing the Legendaries for me as they make the build and always seem to be playing catch up even past level 50, thankfully I got a ring for completing the campaign that really makes my Ice Sorcerer incredibly reliable. I can see why new people to the game, are not super happy about this though. The main one for me is doing all the side quests again as they're kinda meh. I don't really want to have to re-do them but I understand it adds content for a new season.
Honestly this has kinda killed the game for me... it makes all my progress essentially useless, I was looking for a more long term game that I didn't have to regularly restart. The world progress is w.e, but now my 30+ hrs I've put into this character rather quickly won't matter.. unless there's more that transfers I just lost motivation.
lets be clear, Diablo 3 seasonal character was done completely different, Adventure Mode was the primarily way to progress. I cringe thinking if I had to play through side quests and main story every season. I still would like to see battle pass as its own thing and work for both season and non season characters. let Seasons have it own achievement and such.
I've always found it difficult to find the motivation to do end game with Diablo or games like it. The reason is because I'm very much driven more by a games story to continue playing. Dont get me wrong, I also very much enjoy becoming as powerful as possible and engaging with all its various mechanics of the game but once the story is completed I find it hard to continue playing just to continue finding stronger equipment etc knowing that the story is finished. I like the sound of seasons because you said it will have new stories so I'd definitely be into that. I've just never understood the attraction to keep playing just to continuously grow stronger and stronger. Personally I don't really do anything with multi-player (mostly because I don't have any friends who also play video games like I do) on any game so I find no motivation to continue farming gear and experience after the credits roll if I'm not playing against other players. Every once in a while I'll play a game that I liked so much that I'll play new game + but its unfortunately rare. I think I might look into some videos that explain more about end game so I can maybe grasp more of what its about and who knows maybe I'll find a reason to do it.
I’m fine with the concept of new characters for seasons. Only dislike for me is how quickly they’re releasing season 1. With the game releasing and having so much to do I won’t be ready for a seasonal character. However after maxing renown and finishing my build on my “main” character I don’t feel like a new character every 3 months is an issue. But the game has just released and there is so much to do and discover that we should have had 3 months to do so before expecting to be ready for this.
Well some parts of the full game are locked behind Season 1 its very clear when you reach lvl 70+ that some content is saved for Season 1. Im glad they realese it already since its a big part of the game thats absent at the moment. I preffer that they do it now instead of when they realesed the game. Now i have tryed out 2 classes and have a better understanding of which class i wanna put my time into for 3months. Alot of gear that's missing from the game atm will be realesed asweel. Pretty obvious that some types of specs are missing legendary effects to support that type of spec.
Amazing! I'm new to Diablo and I had many questions about seasons. You have answered every single one of them , clearly and concisely. Thank you so much! Please keep up the quality work!
Couple things I'd love to see: Firstly I love the idea of seasons I wish they'd add something that only seasonal characters could farm like keys for Ubers or something that could only be accessed with your normal characters What about hardcore pvp for seasonal characters post season? You die your dead, this would eliminate excessive characters and leave your mains to be what they are, the loot can transfer and you'd have a reason to keep your original characters. Thoughts?
Fantastic Video! Stay in this path and you will hit that 500k no problem..Your're making RYKKER look out dated.. Never thought that would happen but dang you got something true in your tone and voice to draw me in..Stay educated and keep on keeping on..
I appreciate the compliment but rhykker is not outdated. He’s a journalist who spends time to do fully edited complete information. I have quantity to answer quickly, but he has quality that answers fully, and with background context. I think rhykker deserves a large amount of respect for his content , as well as I don’t like the backhanded compliment of trying to make me sound better. We offer different things , and I very much respect his work, and I think you should to.
I’ve been holding on on starting new characters until I’ve got all my altars and renown filled. The season seems like a good time to start fresh. I’m hoping that they use seasons as Guinea pigs for new ideas with successful ones being made part of the mainline realms after
in diablo 2 you have seasonal (ladder) runewords that you can only put together during the season, which then carry over to the non-ladder server. Your character with the buffed items will carry over I guess.
The "guinea pig" is called testing before release. Some quirks can be worked out post-launch of game launch and season release, but 100% of the stuff that comes in a season, will be a part of the main server (Eternal Realm) when the season ends.
That’s exactly what they said they’ll do, most (but I’m not sure if all) mechanics introduced in seasons will also migrate to eternal realm when the season ends
The EXP buffs have to be significant to not cause boredom or burnout. I think levels 1-50 need to be really quick and once you reach paragon levels they can slow it down for sure.
Not doing seasons. Not releveling a character over and over... So as the "seasons" roll on and I find less people in the eternal world... I'll just shelf the game and move on. I'm new to Diablo, but this concept is ridiculous. Instead of starting over with new characters, they could just add in seasoned areas on the map. Season missions, dungeons, etc... mobs lvl with your characters like they do now...wish I knew this crap before I bought the game....
The main goal of seasons is to get new aspects that you transfer to eternal realm You can continue to make your main character more powerful after every season by giving them the new aspects once they transfer over There might be other ways to permanently boost your character or account People interested in end game and high level pvp will be doing every single season 2expansions on the way will probably expand end game greatly Lvl 100 is max lvl, but its not max power At lvl 100 you can keep getting more powerful by getting better stat rolls, new aspects from seasons too Its a long term grind where your main character never really loses playability
@@NscarnautI wonder how sets will work with the aspect system. Also if they do introduce sets, they better provide a armor closet to quickly change builds around like D3 had.
@@geekweekgaming3404 in D3 you could later move the items you got in you seasonal char/stash to your main char, but during seasons, the main char did lose importance.
@@MattR8605 interesting point. Easy solution is to have set Armor not have any aspect so you can imprint what you want. Because if you remove the aspect from the set it would just get that piece destroyed. Or just not have imprints on set since that is the goal of the set, to give you bonus by using multiple pieces of said set. Either way, I'm sure it's something that they'll rework after intensive backlash from the players, it's really hard to make the right decision on these things
Good explanation for players not up to speed on seasonal content in ARPGs of the last decade. Hopefully video(s) like yours will help alleviate the confusion.
When you collect an alter of lillith though it says "x stat boost for characters on this realm" so wouldn't that mean it only applies to the eternal realm?
You know I understand the reason for making new characters for each season. But I gotta say having quarterly seasons is a lot of characters over the course of a year. I wonder if Blizzard could add a feature that would let eternal characters at a certain level be portable between seasons? Idk maybe that’d fuck with idea of having 4 seasons a year.
You don't have to play in every season though. And your seasonal character will be ported to the eternal realm status after the season so you don't lose anything even if you only played a season part of the time. I feel like the devs are really trying to make this game approachable and provide some replay value, which would be lost if you could port a character into a season. But sometimes the diablo community creates stress on itself to constantly have progress. Its unhealthy, this isn't a job. And loot box games are addictive as is don't make it worse on yourself.
@@cjohnson3836ro being able to use your character you spent 100+ hours on dose not kill replay. For some people having to start over to get content kills the game. This caused a bit of disappointment knowing I played just to restart again. I did not play during season 1 or 2. Now that Season 3 is less than a week away, what should I do? Wait for season 3 and start a new character straight up? Stay in the preseason and finish the story before jumping in seasons? Stop playing altogether? I do want to play it but I’m a bit lost
Thank you so much for making this video! I was really bummed about having to start a new character for seasonal content and redoing all the grind, but this video has me excited and looking forward to season 1. You've been killing it with the content, absolutely love your channel
MY guy, your videos have been saving my sanity. I work 10 hour days, appreciate your constant uploads and information, i was worried about seasonal since i put so much of my free time into my rogue already. But this sounds fun.
Each class has so many ways to build and play if you aren’t looking for the meta build which even the meta changes. I personally don’t want to make a duplicate class just to play seasonal content with the class I like the most and trying to perfect that i’m sinking all my free time into. It’s cool they keep your class after seasons but what’s the real point if you don’t make a new class? If you play the same class you’ll have duplicate of the same class after season when you can already freely swap builds/gear on 1 and then even after the season ends since they get sent to the same realm. I feel this is a long term problem for people that don’t want to or simply just can’t grind a new class but love this Diablo and the class they are playing now. So what do those people do now then? Even if you had the time to make a new class each season because why play sorc and regrind sorc 2-3 seasons in a row that’ll only last for 5 seasons if a new class isn’t added because idk if the game/class is deep enough to make multiple of the same classes viable long term while just cranking world tier and gems up a notch. I’ll be making a new class but I’m not a causal player.
I’m just gonna uninstall the game when this drops, Me personally, I have 6 days play time in Diablo so far, I’m only level 72 lol I work full time. I’m not grinding a new character every time, just for some seasonal updates lol. It should be a across the board with every update. I think a lot of people sound happy, until they actually have to do it lol. *re grinding the same character all over again, for a cosmetic :)*
Dude idk plenty of people in d2 made the same class every season over and over again. People don’t care about collecting all the characters they just care about reliving the experience?
Question: Let's say they change something about the game in season 1 (add a new quests, and an aspect). Once Season 2 starts, and your character is moved to the eternal realm, if you started a new character on the eternal realm while season 2 is going on, whould that aspect and quest line be available in the internal realm, or is it lost forever? I guess I mean to ask, are the moving your charater off the season, or are they really replacing the eternal realm with the season content, and merging your characters?

Thanks for the info bro. You are by far one of the best Diablo RUclipsr. Always keep it real brother, being yourself is what we like. The kitty stuff cracks me up lol. Again thanks from New Zealand
The entire issue with the season debate right now is so simple, Diablo 3 can do seasons effectively because it had the foundations and framework, same with PoE. Diablo 4 does not have the framework, it has got minimal content and far too much copy pasted scripted events and outside of that is repeating nightmare dungeons more than a thousand times to reach the cap, that is the problem. Only the fan boys and shills are defending seasons in this way, seasons itself will most likely balance out and be 'fine' in a few years time, but for now its not and that is why Diablo 4 will lose a significant playerbase not because of seasons but the lack of content at all levels, there is a clear lack of meaningful content from 50 to 100.
Its insane to me that people dont even played Diablo and doesnt understand the game and crying about "its a waste of time" just WOW but u help the new kids the game its awesome... most people dont even understand the GENRE of the GAME
Make sure to not overwork and give the kitty a good rub! =) The ending was so cute tho, cause u really care for it and i own 2 cats myself, glad u stay true to yourself and your values :)
Starting a fresh character is a deal breaker for me. There’s no logical explanation as to why we can’t use our existing characters and progress through a seasonal leveling system. Edit: fixed typo
Hey just wanted to know if its worth doing the campaign when the season drops or to just skip it. Because i would like to replay the story if it contributes to the season system in place. Great video as always man.
The "seasons" was a great idea in games where it was interesting and fun to start over.. Diablo took the concept and made it a boring task with timesinks to keep you in the game to get access to new content and monetize players.. So in other words Seasons started as a cool idea and its now just another way to retain players and monetize your gameplay.
100% agree.....they built the game around teenagers who had nothing better to do than endless farming of D2....I F'ing hate seasons. It's purely lazy design work. Put the effort into adding the content to existing gameplay. They do it with world of warcraft for godsake. Just roll "seasons" into the game as content patches and move on. This starting over shit is ridiculous.
It's too early for seasons... The reason why seasons existed in the first place is because D2 became stale and boring. This is a time where Battle passes didn't exist yet. D3 adopted the system and POE imo popularize leagues(seasons). Now... D4 is an open world shared world mmo like ARPG... All I'm saying is expect major backlash when these people from different game genres find out you had to make a new character just to participate on a battle pass. Good luck Blizzard ur gonna need it.
I think the problem of season in D4 is that the timing of first season (i.e. mid-July) is shit. Most of the casual players have just completed campaign; been levelling and trying out builds in between level 50-80s. Now Blizzard tells ppl all these on-going effort is gonna be wiped out (I can’t see anything worth doing in eternal realm when season starts) in mid July and it’s absolutely stupid. Levelling in D4 relatively took much more time than D3 and D2. They can postpone the start of the first season to a couple of months later, and when players start to get bored and they will be more willing to create a new character and join the season.
Hi thanks for the video I'm a new player to diablo on ps5 playing solo as none of my friends play unfortunately so I was hesitant to buy the game to play solo but I did and I'm having great fun although at time's it's rather overwhelming for me and don't really know what I'm doing but still really enjoying myself. Gear is a little confusing but I presume it's the bonuses underneath I'm after rather than power level .like if a weapon has 200 power and stats like 7%crit strike bonus 10@ more damage to close enemies and a weapon at 250 power but 7%evade 10% basic skills I would pick the first one ?. Basically I'm looking for stats for my particular class sorcerer like maybe stats that make my powers do more damage?. I hope I'm right there's lots of video's I know but would like to learn myself if I mess up I will have to rebuild my character.sorry for long message and also your video was the only one that helped me understand the seasons so I will have to upgrade. Thanks again.
I think it should be clarified- you dont have to start a new character if you dont want to participate in seasons. You can continue to play your current character on the eternal realm

Facts and blizzard created Diablo AND wow
I’m really new to Diablo. This season was the first time I got any character over level 50 and exploring all the endgame stuff has been extremely cool, like whispers, etc. I had so much fun finding the right weapons and the right aspects that are cool.
I’m really interested to see what drops I will get and how everything changes each run. I won’t be deleting this character as I am stoked on them and want to remember them, and I need to remember what aspects worked out really well so I can kind of rebuild this character again. I did incinerate sorcerer I think only because early on I rolled obals and got a super powerful staff that split incinerate into three, and I’ve been running with that style ever since

I don't like it either. But I think people who are into it love the grind. After all, it's about the journey, not the destination, lol

Concise, informative and practical. As always. Thank you
I love how concise and well worded these videos are, and all apparently memorized or said on the fly, not read off a screen.

This dude turns out pure gold content daily! It’s insane!
The only reason it matters to us is for the sense of connection to others.. a social need
So then you’re saying that you won’t be getting that sense of social connection if everyone else is playing season 1 .. and you load up your immortal character.
Basically most things are all about the social emotional need.. and we find REALLY long ways around meeting that need.. via eg grading in a game like this. Or watching reaction channels etc.
Whereas if we all knew how, we could meet this social need more directly.
But d2 ladders are exactly the same? How is this different?
I was 100% against starting over but hearing you explain it makes me feel a lot better about it, thank you for your thorough explanation ❤
I remember i saw some of your videos when i was curious abour diablo immortal. It was so infornative it kept me from wasting time and potentially money on that game.

I heard you have to finish the campaign in order to participate in seasons. Can someone clarify if this is the case because I've been taking my time
@@transalchemy785 I highly doubt that will be the case. Although if you don't complete the campaign you will have to complete it in the season, likely from the beginning. Completing it now will allow you to skip the campaign when beginning a seasonal character.
You're a godsend. Couldn't find this information presented this coherent anywhere else.
So you can stay on the original realm and not have to start new character every season ? Just go at your own pace
There were about 30 in total, ranging from "+20% damage" to "you can walk through enemies & enemy-created walls" or even "all low-quality gear that drops near you is automatically picked up and turned into materials."
As I say, we don't know quite what D4 will bring yet, but I'm looking forward to finding out. Hopefully they'll bring something particularly cool for season one to show it off to newcomers!
@@kenallsop7502 I appreciate the time you took to give examples. It would be smart if season one sold the concept well. D4 seemingly attracted a wide demographic of gamers.

Meh it will likely be easier. Less experimentation more execution.
71 barbarian, I just found out and I can't play anymore 😕!
@@owisun85Well the next time you go running in the hamster wheel alot of things will be different even if you play the same class. New items will open upp new ways to play and i think new world events will spice things up asweel.

Yeah your main character is useless for the entirety of the new season
Makes me so happy that your channel is blowing up :) all the success to you brotha
It's not a mispeak, Blizzard wants to sell battlepasses and their sponsored youtubers have to promote seasonal play.
Honestly after I finish my characters on release I probably won't be back. The intense focus on seasonal content and deleting characters makes playing feel extremely pointless. Returning may also be a big problem if there is a lot of seasonal fomo.
All waypoints and all renown rewards should 100% carry over, i dont think any reason will change my mind on this.

I really enjoy your content. You get to the point and you're one of the best at explaining Diablo 4. Keep up the great work....
Loved you in Workaholics
Good one
Best straight forward explanations, for all people. Thx for valuable information without overloading bla bla bla 😊
Reach out more dawg. I’ll be your friend :)
Dude you explain stuff so well. Thank you
I’m fine with the concept of new characters for seasons. Only dislike for me is how quickly they’re releasing season 1. With the game releasing and having so much to do I won’t be ready for a seasonal character. However after maxing renown and finishing my build on my “main” character I don’t feel like a new character every 3 months is an issue. But the game has just released and there is so much to do and discover that we should have had 3 months to do so before expecting to be ready for this.
thats why i stopped for now until the first season and for sure it will be the only season i will play because of the battlepass😂
Ya at least another month seems reasonable to me.
1.5 months after release seems incredibly rushed to me.

Couple things I'd love to see:
Firstly I love the idea of seasons I wish they'd add something that only seasonal characters could farm like keys for Ubers or something that could only be accessed with your normal characters
What about hardcore pvp for seasonal characters post season? You die your dead, this would eliminate excessive characters and leave your mains to be what they are, the loot can transfer and you'd have a reason to keep your original characters.
Thoughts?

I’ve been holding on on starting new characters until I’ve got all my altars and renown filled. The season seems like a good time to start fresh. I’m hoping that they use seasons as Guinea pigs for new ideas with successful ones being made part of the mainline realms after
in diablo 2 you have seasonal (ladder) runewords that you can only put together during the season, which then carry over to the non-ladder server. Your character with the buffed items will carry over I guess.
The "guinea pig" is called testing before release. Some quirks can be worked out post-launch of game launch and season release, but 100% of the stuff that comes in a season, will be a part of the main server (Eternal Realm) when the season ends.
they will. already said they would. it will be like PoE
Yeah, I'm level 71 Druid. I don't see any point in creating a new character until the season starts.
That’s exactly what they said they’ll do, most (but I’m not sure if all) mechanics introduced in seasons will also migrate to eternal realm when the season ends
Darth micro trx, your chill no bs no bias videos are great.keep at it booss
The EXP buffs have to be significant to not cause boredom or burnout. I think levels 1-50 need to be really quick and once you reach paragon levels they can slow it down for sure.
By really quick, I hope you mean INSANELY quick. 1-2 hours maximum from 1-50 or I'm out
Not doing seasons.
The main goal of seasons is to get new aspects that you transfer to eternal realm
You can continue to make your main character more powerful after every season by giving them the new aspects once they transfer over
There might be other ways to permanently boost your character or account
People interested in end game and high level pvp will be doing every single season
2expansions on the way will probably expand end game greatly
Lvl 100 is max lvl, but its not max power
At lvl 100 you can keep getting more powerful by getting better stat rolls, new aspects from seasons too
Its a long term grind where your main character never really loses playability
And don't forget sets. Chasing specific sets was a big way to buff certain builds
It’s still stupid it even make your main character lose playability at all
@@NscarnautI wonder how sets will work with the aspect system.
Dude ur videos are so good love em keep it up also were u on workaholics?
Good explanation for players not up to speed on seasonal content in ARPGs of the last decade. Hopefully video(s) like yours will help alleviate the confusion.
@@molochz just new to the genre probably
When you collect an alter of lillith though it says "x stat boost for characters on this realm" so wouldn't that mean it only applies to the eternal realm?
You know I understand the reason for making new characters for each season. But I gotta say having quarterly seasons is a lot of characters over the course of a year. I wonder if Blizzard could add a feature that would let eternal characters at a certain level be portable between seasons? Idk maybe that’d fuck with idea of having 4 seasons a year.
Oh man, don’t even worry.
30 characters later, WE HAVE ANOTHER UPDATE COMING!!!! GET READY TO MAKE ANOTHER CHARACTERRRRRRR!
Why on earth would I want to start over every 3 months? Lol I don’t understand how a group of people link up and say yea this a good idea. Let’s make the player START OVER for cosmetics and a few new things 😂. Insane
@@byus6928 Because you don't start over in any way that would be any different than saying, "I want to try another class." You don't lose anything. You keep your character to use in eternal. People crying about his are ridiculous.

I’m a new player to Diablo. I played the preseason until level 35 or so in the middle of Act 4 without knowing what was gonna happen (new seasons, new characters, etc.).
Excellent video! I've dabbled in ARPG's over the years but just got Diablo 4 and wasn't 100% on the seasons.
MY guy, your videos have been saving my sanity. I work 10 hour days, appreciate your constant uploads and information, i was worried about seasonal since i put so much of my free time into my rogue already. But this sounds fun.
God damn, ive just finished the main story today. I wanted to 100% the renowns before s1 launches, but mid July is too close.
Pre season is for the stroy. Season 1 is for grind. Right now I'm taking my time loving the story. After that, in season 1 I'm going to speed threw
I watched 3 videos and was still confused about seasons. DM absolute legend
I’m just gonna uninstall the game when this drops, Me personally, I have 6 days play time in Diablo so far, I’m only level 72 lol
I work full time. I’m not grinding a new character every time, just for some seasonal updates lol.
It should be a across the board with every update. I think a lot of people sound happy, until they actually have to do it lol.
*re grinding the same character all over again, for a cosmetic :)*
@@DrewSteezyit’s not about a cosmetic it’s just about playing the game again.
I love seasons and im excited for season 1. I just don't see myself being able to hit lvl 100 during the season with the little time i have to play I just hit lvl 50 after finishing the campaign yesterday. I'm worried I won't be able to finish the battle pass I already purchased as well.
The goal is just to get as far as possible bro and even if u don't get to 100 eventually thier will be gear sets and new aspects ul get to play with and now that u finished the campaign it's 10x faster to level up bro trust me. I got my alt to level 50 in 3 days barley trying watching Netflix soloing lol ur okay. U need friends will help to. U on xbox?
yeah they got you with the battlepass. It's always like this with Diablo, unless you have tons and tons of free time it's best to ignore seasons and stick to the eternal realm.
D4 came out june 6. Thats 16 days ago. Barely over two weeks.
Seasons last 3 months. Thats 12 weeks.
You made it to level 50 in 2 out 12 weeks.
Do the math. I think you are gonna be okay.

You have to create a new character to play the season.
I understand you have to create a new character im happy about the ability to have the character in the eternal realm and the faster leveling aspects.
@@wixinox4512 thats what a lot of players didn't understand initially. the eternal realm you characters last until you delete them. seasonal characters must be new, but after s1 ends, go to the eternal realm too. so you never lose a character unless you WANT to lose that character.

Dude, thank you. As someone who can only play a couple hours every other day I was so lost with all the info about seasons. I was like damn I haven’t even finished the story and I have to start a new character? 😆 thanks again for being clear and simple. you cant do seasons until you did main story
also 900 + renown is also aquired on all regions to enter

That excuse is dated and no longer relevant, much like your seasonal model.
It is A LOT more like an MMO now, for sure! Great point!
Thanks for this. Was very much needed.

People train dogs, cats train people. Whether you know it or not, your cat is trying to train you.
Appreciated the videos bro😈😈
The devs said to make sue you have everything transfered to your eternal character before the season ends though
The fact that you have to make a new character is interesting. Gives you a reason to do so.
Does anyone know. Do you keep aspects when you finish a dungeon? I will not bother of it does not carry over to next season.
Played the crap out of d3 but never participated in seasons. Never understood them yo be honest. Yhis video answered all the questions.
I wish content was added on top of current progression and not a restart.
