The great thing about music like this is you can really exploit all the power synths have to offer. Sounds that have no place in other types of music take center stage here.
Brilliant! Thanks for the great music... and thanks for making an amazing TV show... into an audio experience that transported me back to the greatest years of my life - the 80's!!!
What an amazing sound! Found this artists via stranger things and i absolutely love it!!! Looks like a challenge to play in such an environment. Too bright, too busy and nobody seems to get this awesome vibe. The band members all look a bit underwhelmed and i can completely understand why.
I found these guys last year and fell in love with their sound, analog heaven. They played some of my favourites here, I really enjoyed it and will be watching again for sure. There’s definitely some Tangerine Dream in there, and that’s no bad thing. Hope they release some more stuff
@@shaunmcdonald2770 I've just started watching it, and I did see a video on here where they were talking about the music they've done for the show. I just wish they'd make another album
None of there other live performances or cd tracks even come close to this soundwise and everything else the way it sounds during this performance, wish i had the audio to this video...damn
Also a ARP Odissey, a Roland SH-10, another one that could be a Moog Mother 32, a Roland SH-5, an AKAI MPC-1000 and a Boss pedal, maybe some distortion.
I think that guy in the red has that mpc but the other people seem to be using only synths. hard to see what that guy in the back is doing, maybe he's just checking his email. I think they are synthing to mpc sequences and it's all synced via midi. this is so cool.
Their live shows are amazing. I haven't seen them live since 2014, but totally spectacular. I haven't seen any recordings on youtube of their performances do them justice. But yes, a little more spectacle would hurt.
@@mistamuthafuka yeah you are right, they aren't The Cramps, Wolf Eyes, or James Brown.....lol. The best are both. One dude is yawning. Like come on. Weak. 6.5/10.
Around the 29 minute mark I think it puts this gig into perspective. There a lot of people around that are not there just to listen to their music, if anyone’s played a restaurant gig playing background music, you don’t head bang in those situations, I could imagine they’d feel awkward rocking out too hard while some dude in the background is doing some soldering. Obviously as well the audio feed is direct no live mics, I could imagine it’s not that loud in there and people in the back would be talking over their music, not much of a vibe for them to get rocking. Haha I’ve watched this so many times it’s my favourite live performance of there’s, just because you can see exactly what they’re doing.
***** because they are concentrating on making LIVE ELECTRONIC MUSIC without computers. It is not such an easy thing for most people, these days anyway. :)
I can recognize (from right to left): -Sequential Circuits Sixtrak -Roland SH-5 -Korg Mono/Poly -Roland SH-101 The synths far left are very difficult to see in detail because of the camera angle for me. I though the synth under the mono/poly was a Moog MG-1 but I'm not sure about it.
Roland SH-5, Sequential Circuits Six Trak, Korg Mono/Poly, Roland SH-101, ARP Odyssey, Roland RS-09, Korg Polysix. I'm not sure about what's under the Mono/Poly

Really enjoyed this. Never heard of these guys. Very Tangerine Dream with a little bit of John Carpenter. Nice.
betsyrocks agreed.. best of both worlds
Sounds synthetic. I never tire of this noise.
Crazy coincidence moment: listening to Omni verse on Spotify RUclips searched survive live skipped to 14mins and song continued at exact same place!!
What synthesizers do you identify? I identify: Sequential Six-trak, Roland Sh-5, Korg Mono-Poly, Roland Sh-101, Roland System100

Awesomeness!!!!! Can't stop watchin it!!!!!!!! (huge oldschool synth fan here)
so good, best live electronics around
This is a great performance! Awesome that there is at least that one dude in the background feeling it.
What an amazing sound! Found this artists via stranger things and i absolutely love it!!! Looks like a challenge to play in such an environment. Too bright, too busy and nobody seems to get this awesome vibe. The band members all look a bit underwhelmed and i can completely understand why.
this isn't as easy as it looks survive has some rad og gear
what are they using? i don't recognize much of it besides the MPC and whatever main Korg that is. their sound is analog bliss!
+Joey Lewis they have tons of vintage gear, so much I'd take forever to list most of it is 70s gear
Roland SH-5, Sequential Circuits Six-Trak, Korg MonoPoly, ARP Solus, Roland SH-101. Tough to make out the rest. Far end looks like a Korg Poly 6
Don't forget the late model mpc. Guessing it's just being used for MIDI tho.
I didn't. Joey already mentioned that.

Not sure if you are aware, but two of the members did the scoring for Stranger Things.

the only thing missing is the right atmosphere. like tangerine dream at Coventry cathedral.
It's amazing to see how they do it. A truly artful way of getting expression out of these wonderful machines.
Dope freaking sound! So much analog goodness.
Excellent analog set guys !!!!
Sooo epic and awesome
This is so incredible.

I hope you keep it up, fellas. These are awesome sounds.
This is amazing. Truly.

Machiwoomiapoo how were they?
John Carpenter meets Aphex Twin.
I love the guy in the background when the music starts haha
survive live is awesome.
None of there other live performances or cd tracks even come close to this soundwise and everything else the way it sounds during this performance, wish i had the audio to this video...damn

These guys are amazing
Reaaaally nice :) Love the whole vibe of it!!!
so dope!!! love it;)
amazing show distributor electronics moog
This band is everything. Their music reminds me of the Nightmare on Elm Street soundtrack. Does anyone know the names of the synths they're using?
TroubleinZION sci six track, korg mono poly are two that stand out. I should know but of course it's hard to see them all.
Also a ARP Odissey, a Roland SH-10, another one that could be a Moog Mother 32, a Roland SH-5, an AKAI MPC-1000 and a Boss pedal, maybe some distortion.
Looks like they are at the Moog factory
I feel the guy on our right is bummed about just learning the gig was booked in a library and was told to play quieter....
Was this still in Asheville or Durham?

RIP MOOGFEST

so fucking good!
These are the guys now doing the Stranger Things music, right?
Survive completing the rest of the Tangerine Dream 80's music never made.
They released more than a hundred albums. What music did they not make?
@@hauptgast8940 Apparently my comment has too much nuance for you.
Anybody know what gear they use?
Minivan Highway. And I mean that as a compliment.
hell yes !~ Love this
Is this just moog synths?!
when I watch this I think of ross in friends on his keyboard!
Where is the download link on your website? I can't find it.
does each homie have an midi production center for sequencer ? or just homie in the red. he r very very good. start at 4:20 for some STRRRRANNNNNNNG

looks so fun yes! I believe you are right on the money too, I didn't recognize the mp until you had mentioned it! MIDI Sequence MAGIC
With ease!!
Medio Mutante 🤟🏻
these guys are my religion
the dude in the background with the beanie is such a hipster.
whos kyle dixon and michael stein on those four?
- GreenPiece - Hahahaha that's the result of dark music
Michael Stein is the dude with the long blonde hair, Kyle Dixon is the one in the red jacket.
oooo wow o wowo o wowoowowow ! Ver vool very very coool!

They should wear spacesuits when performing live. Visuals are important.

if some manager took care of band - they should be much better known of Jane Michel Jarre*
*In my opinion obviously
fucking awesome music but these guys don't know how to smile at all
This guys look like they don’t want to be there
Cesar V Torres They're boiling and simmering.
their music is great but why they look bored and desperate ! ??
