Saw them perform this on my 18th birthday at Rose and Thistle in Dundas. I've been singing it in my head almost every morning when I wake up, for 41 years. Lol
I don't have words for how happy I am to find this. I saw this when it originally aired, fell in love with the song instantly, taped a rebroadcast of Punk 76-79 that was great but didn't have this whole video. I've been seeking this live version of Tired of Waking Up Tired since. That's what 15 years? The clip of the Dishrags is amazing too, but this made my week.
Gem of a song. Ranks up there with "Take the skinheads bowling". Heard it first and often on the old Spirit of Radio CFNY with David Marsden, Ivor Hamilton, Pete and Geets and that gang in the mid 70s out of Brampton Ontario.
Saw them in Waterloo with the B-Girls opening for them in the late 70s. I hand painted a "I'm tired of waking up tired" button with the tired stroked out and replaced to say "I'm tired of waking up with a B-Girl" I think I still have it somewhere.
If you can make it to Burlington, the show at the Sound Of Music Festival is an outdoor free show. The band plays after the Barrettas and before the New York Dolls.
THE amazing canadian punk single. if you see the Chaos to couture show at the met museum the first thing you see in the CBGD restroom is diodes graffittee

The late 70s/early 80s were bad times with the disco craze. Thank God for bands like this among others that shut down disco.

Too bad the studio version is nowhere to be seen on youtube - at least not from Canada. Probably a copyright thing.
I've played on that stage.
