Man those hickory roots remind me of the mesquites we have here. But if you break the roots off mesquites and don’t get all them, they will grow into another tree/bush. I’ve seen some roots 60’ long in all directions lol. Enjoyed the message and video sir!

I just found your channel 😊❤😊 I love watching guys use equipment to push new Roads through wildlands. I love your explanation of what to watch for in the "BAD" trees. For me personally I would love to open land for driveways it the wild.
What made you pick CAT ( being new to your video) is it the service, reliability. I see you have new equipment, are they yours or do you Rent/Lease from cat. So glad the property owner put orange tape on trees to mark your parh. 😊

I do buy CAT machines for their reliability and great service. But of course other brands have reliability and service as well. Basically I just like the CAT brand and enjoy running them. I do own the machines that you see in the videos.

Man, those hickory trees ain't no joke. I took out one when I put my driveway in 25 years ago that I still haven't forgotten. That thing was the size of a basketball at the base, and I had a hole big enough to drop a skidsteer into when I got done. I know everyone always says you need to buy this or that in the comments, but you really should look into a stumper for the 313. Best tool I own for taking out trees, bushes, or stumps. It's a lot easier on the machine and a great time saver. I bought mine from USA Attachments in King, NC. It took them about a week to build it, and the price was fair. Once you learn the technique, you'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner.
If you need any help for the next 5 days, I'm in Sevierville on vacation. Lol. Thanks for sharing the video Sam.
You are right about those Hickory trees. Wow, that was a pain at times. I’ve thought about a stumper and other attachments for the 313 but it doesn’t have a quick attach so I would be knocking out pins and wrestling with that thing by myself. But I’ve seen those stumpers and they work great. Swing by and will put you in the Hog hauling dirt. Oh and by the way it still has no A/C. Wow, I’m dreading that next week…🥵

That's a awesome job. I'm pretty new to this so glad to see all the little things happen to everyone. Lol I used take it personally running out of grease. Breaking something. I'm 30 worked 2 jobs my whole life mainly mow but just got a excavator trying stay busy doing little things. Do alot of little stuff the bigger guys don't want but I'll take whatever. To get that little tree out of the teeth on the bucket you need to place and end of it close to one of the tracks and walk forward so the track gets on top of it and that will help pull it out!!

Mulching leaves the stumps in the ground. To build a road the stumps have to be taken out of the ground…

Not sure unless it was the 1000 hour service. I do have a video from several weeks back that you may want to check out. I had hydraulic oil getting into the swing bearing housing. It was repaired and covered under warranty….
