I’ve played on both for a while and for me, if they add cross play they’d have to integrate aim assist on controller. And if they add aim assist, PUBG loses a major unique competitive factor that would water down the experience even more. So for that reason alone, I’d vote no if given the choice.

Hello. Like Average, I used to play PUBG on Console, XBOX one. I actually started playing the game like this and while I loved it, it was so frustrating that it eventually drove away ALL my friends to play Warzone, and I never blamed them. Playing PUBG on console was a very, very bad, frustrating experience that I noticed was even making me angry, so I decided enough was enough and sold my Xbox One and moved to PC. It's been 3 years now, and boy, you only understand the difference once you move from console to play PC, it is almost like a different game in regards of mechanics and "feel" Everything felt different, so much that I was a noob again! Literally had to learn to crawl before walking. So yeah, I agree with Average, I don't see any good way they can make it cross-play without screwing up console players or actually screwing up the game for good.
You aren't wrong at all. Would kill the game for console. I love/hate console PuBG, never played PC but I understand there is a huge difference. Would definitely stop playing if this were to happen.

Console versus console is OK, but computer needs to be in its own domain too easy to cheat enough said
People cheat on consoles too. So what you said is definitely not enough.
Cross console is horribly desynced at times. It’s no “ok.” Not even close.
it would destroy about 70% of the console player base, the only ones that would stay would be those already cheating on console. legit players would just find something new.
Or maybe the ones that stay actually truly enjoy the game for what it is, aren't cheating, aren't sweats, and don't give a fuck about what place they actually get.

I totally agree with you on all points. I've only just switched from xbox to PC and the difference in accuracy and CLARITY is night and day.
Console player here; I can instantly tell when someone is running a Keyboard and mouse. They move like crackheads which just isn’t possible on a controller
it’s very obvious in the kill cam or spectating.
And thats been going on for years. People will be like "get good". A controller just can't instaturn on someone, it's harder to control recoil everything is slower.
I’ve heard people say this for years and I’ve seen virtually zero videos showing it.
@@theDiReW0lf if you cant see the difference you haven't played enough and your not that familiar with the game, its easy to tell who's cheating and who isn't
@krazyhorse9596 so I have to ask, have you tried the game at the highest sensitivity? If you haven't actually tried the game at the highest sensitivity, then it might be hard to tell what is and isn't possible on controller with regards to turning on people.
Cross play optional, and if your on pc and want to play with console players you have to play on same input. I would play on controler if i could play with my console friends.
The thing is people playing with mouse & Keyboard every day on consoles
99% top console player cronus or xim adapter used.
I think console and pc crossplay should be a thing in pubg only if the add keyboard and mouse support on the consoles

PUBG just needs to update their graphics and port it over to Unreal Engine 5 already that would bring a lot of people back to the game

the KBM vs Controller argument is nonsense when sub-par controller players would be able to turn off crossplay, this is the same excuse Ubisoft keeps making about Siege. They are competitive games, let us be competitive...

I do think Pubg is it's own beast, but I get stomped by console players regularly on any other game I play that has crossplay.
The new consoles allow 120fps on a lot of games now.
To me the pros far out weigh the cons. It's shown to be the case with literally every other game that has implemented crossplay.

Must feel like killing bots - morefun in general voicechat. The fact of beeing able to use stuff like RESHADE or adjust the audio equalizer for better detection makes it hoonestly waymore unfair for console players tbh.
What I would first like to see, is the option to choose regions. It worked well back in the days. Great video as always!

I use a controller on PC and I'll tell you right now, console players aren't ready for PC players. Mouse and Keyboard is crazy!!

Cross play is fine, just make it based on input type. Console can use keyboard and mouse and pc can use controller, there's room for all of us to play together
We don’t want cross play on console. Adding pc players to the mix is just going to have more hackers in the games.
They could just put KBM players in a lobby with each other and controller users in a lobby with each other and then a mixed input lobby for groups that have both KBM and controller
I think they should do what R6 siege is going to do, if you want to play with your pc friends you have to play against only pc players yes that gives you a disadvantage but not everyone is shroud, this also separate's the pc cheaters from the Xbox cheaters as well, I also think that adding an option to switch to M and K on Console isn't that bad because all you'd have to do is make it so if you plug in a Mouse and keyboard device you will only play with mouse and keyboard players, this makes it so the game will separate the XIM and CHRONUS cheaters to only play with PC. Even if your on controller yes there's a disadvantage but you also have your teammates that are on pc so you will still always have a chance, also this will make it so they don't have to add aim assist because even if you have a Xbox player in your lobby you will only play against pc players. This is a very simple concept that i feel like game devs should do this for all their games being able to play with your friends and having fun is what makes these games actually have a large player base not everyone is hopping on pubg hoping to make it pro, a lot of people just want to have fun with their friends.
in my opinion there should be crossply that you can turn on or off but if you are on console anddon"t like PC guys having advantage just turn it off and if you are on PC and you don't want aim assist again just turn it off. but people could play with their friends.

I can tell you right now that as soon as console players hop online with pc players, it will be a slaughter fest. Unless they allow M/KB like you mentioned, it won’t even be a competition. I am 35 years old and have played console for far longer than I have played on pc. Ain’t no way controller even comes close to mouse.
Edit: also I play around 144fps at all times. A poor 60fps player is not going to have the time to react that somebody with high fps will. And if they are playing at 30fps, then LMFAO
If it's between pc and xbox, as long as xbox users are able and can only use mouse and keyboard, then that would make sense. If xbox users had to use a controller, it'd make it a lot more difficult for them and if enough complain, then the issue of auto aim might become an option which I think is usually the main reason for why folk don't want cross-play. So, if cross-play, fine but have xbox users use a keyboard and mouse when playing against pc users. Keeps a level playing field this way.
Are there plans by the company to add cross play between PC and consoles? Maybe with the arrival of Unreal Engine 5 or will there never be crossplay between PC and consoles?
I mostly just wanted to know why there’s no crossplay to begin with and I had no idea there were such differences in the settings. This was quite helpful yet disappointing because I just wanted to play with my friends who are pc users but that’s more of a me problem 😅
After the introduction of crossplay now at least 30% of FPS players cheat with either DMA on PC or VPN Cloudshare on console. Online FPS games are now a joke because of all the cheaters that came from pc pushing the console players to use cronus and vpn cloudshare wallhacks to compete in the higher tier SBMM lobbies

Well balanced opinions from you there Average. I can sum it in 1 question. Even with the balancing out some of the differences and allowing keyboards/ mouse for console. If you were playing only on a console controller would you ever want to go up against any pc player if you somehow managed to get in the top 10? That my friend is the answer you are looking for
Console player here. The minute they turn on cross play is the minute I'm done with this game.
I would be open to cross play as an Xbox player. It would only be one sided though. I would like to play in a PC server with my Xbox controller, but not have PC players play in an Xbox or console server. Currently, I play PC with a controller consolecompanion app. It is very clunky and not responsive.
I think they can add the option and you will decide if you want it or not (like in other games). I played on both and I know console players that can dominate even against pc players.
and for pc players, it's better than playing agains bots, no? ;-)

you can just play with mouse and keyboard on your console so...just let the player choose if they want to play with their friends on PC as an option, not everyone can afford a PC unfortunately

Warframe recently added cross platform play, it is a vastly different shooter than pubg, but if anything accuracy is more important because you spend most of the game flying around like a coked up monkey with a jetpack. And I _constantly style on_ PC players because controllers are just _better_ for precise 360 degree movement. Pubg's longer engagement ranges, bullet ballistics and frankly rudimentary movement means controllers have no real advantage, if anything there's a disadvantage. But, I'd be game to give it a try.
Good video. I really want pubg to merge the console and PC accounts together as one, not for cross-play just for emerging accounts and have one account to get the season pass items and everything on across the board.
I play on both at times. Just in my experience the console players will have a very hard time winning against pc players. That mouse and keyboard action on pubg is just epic. Co troller players are limited to the speed of movement of the Joystick. Same on COD and other shooters but the limiting factor is mostly the dead zones and latency of the controller. Hot keys are a thing for pc.

Why do mouse players want to go against joystick players?
Because they know they will have an edge over joystick players.
When common sense is void from a debate. That tells you right there l, there are other goals in play.
There is no aim assist in pubg tho, so controller would be at a huge disadvantage.
If they did this, they would have to have controller lobbies & KnM lobbies - but console cant even keep out the KnM players as it is.....wouldnt work!
let console players play KBM and PC players can play using controllers. Whats your problem? Its better to separate matching based on input.
@soullettes.525 I think you're confused! It would be fine for allowing KnM on console, however the lobbies need to be separate. A legit controller player shouldn't have to go against a KnM player....🤷🏽♂️. Pretty simple.

I have some friends who refuse to buy PCs. They use Xbox. Another friend only uses PS5. Being able to do cross platform would allow for people to olay with friends.
But let's be real, using a mouse in a shooter against people with joysticks is not the same game for both people.
I’m skeptical about cross-play because I’m on console.However if we can transfer our cosmetics from console to pc if we switch, I think that would be a plus.
They need to just add Keyboard mouse support to console. And for the people who are gonna freak out and say it wouldn’t be fair, just make it a setting where crossplay/KBM is an option. So KBM players will only play with KBM players, and vice versa. Also if people don’t care if they play with KBM users then they should also be able to play with them while on controller. 🫡
I’d love to see them add it but there are many ways they can go about doing it good and bad. If they did it would be nice to have ps4 and xbox share same servers that way if cross play is off they still join on another then enabling cross play lets u play pc vs console.

I always hear keyboard and mouse clicks when playing with random squads. These are the guys with 6x in m4 and spraying the whole lobby. V hard to win fight against them. So chronus/k&m must be stopped in xbox/ps

All of the points you have made are solid, I agree with all of them. I've played all 3 platforms, being PC/Console/Mobile... Found PC to actually be the easiest but the skill gap is insanely high. Console is pretty easy, there is borderline no recoil because its reduced drastically for the inaccuracies of controller... Mobile? we dont talk about that, it has full on aim assist for even hipfire (if you know about the UMP45 laser sight / M416 6x scope meta and use it, shame on you. take a shower you sweaty hippy!)
Even if pubg did implement keyboard support for console and turned on crossplay, controllers automatically would still be at a disadvantage... even if the recoil for controller input is reduced and keyboard and mouse stays the same. Still, even if that is somehow implemented, think about all the cheat devices people can use to spoof a controller for movement and use their mouse as aiming. I've seen people showcase those for fortnite videos where they get aim assist for keyboard and mouse but use the joystick and buttons for controller movement. It's absolutely broken.
All in all, PC should stay PC, Console should stay between Xbox and PlayStation. This game is already dying, no need to kill it even more.

Why does this matter if some players are already using their pc to play PUBG console? And some already have emulators that allow them to use mouse and keyboard. I have encountered more players that behave like a pc player than a controller player. ESPECIALLY if you go up rank you will encounter more mnk and cheaters.
Like call of duty be able to turn cross play on or off or select either console or pc. Pubg is becoming lobby’s full of bots.
The #1 reason that would be totally unfair is cause consoles can't use M&K and have a lot slower frame rates than most PC's trust me I would much rather be playing on my PC but due to an apartment fire years ago I still haven't had the money to tear my PC back down and rebuild it yet. Also the ability to cheat on PC with hacks is a lot easier! The only real easy way to cheat on consoles is using a Cronus Zen and Strikepacks. There's tons of hacks and cheats for PC!
Ok so you just mentioned the reasons I came up with where it just won't work. So might as well stop talking about this. Consoles suck compared to most PC's! There's no way it would be fair!

Normal - Also doesn't change its the same.
Casual - Casual is no longer a few players and the rest bots but casual is where cross play is enabled. Because we enable more players on the battlegrounds we can get rid of bots or decrease the number of bots than normal.
In casual Mode the settings are tuned to help controller players

I like the idea but I don’t see it working. Desync and Cronus are absolutely ruining console. But it would be nice to have PC players help take care of the rat PS players who stay in blue or right on the edge and abosutely rat until the very end.
