- This polar bear crochet square won't take you long to whip up and you can embellish more or less to your liking. Start with a basic single crochet square and then add the face. How cute are those little paws and that fringed scarf?! I definitely need to make more animal themed crochet squares so they can all be joined together into blanket. Stay tuned for more information about an animal square CAL!

So pleased to find you. Your ideas are delightful.😊
I am super excited about this! I signed up for a local group that crochets (and knits) items like blankets and toys for cancer patients of all ages. This will make an amazing gift at the end of 2023 if you make a square per month. I think I am going to make 4 of each square, and then at the end of the year, I'll be able to donate 4 blankets! Thank you!!
Where do you live and does it cost anything?
Or you could just matching solid squares and mix the bears and other animals though out.just a suggestion..
@@monicabrimm1822 This is a fantastic idea. I was trying to figure out the best way to make a modestly sized blanket with 7" squares and coming up short. Thank you for suggesting this.
@@ashleelarsen7765 I live in Virginia. It costs nothing. I found the group by Googling "Crochet Groups Near Me". If you can find a group near you, that would be wonderful! 🥰
@@monicabrimm1822 Awesome idea, especially if I struggle with a square. I'm a perfectionist and if I don't like something I've made I won't donate it, I'm self conscious that no one would want it. 😌😔
Oh and your patterns and the way you crochet. Thanking you ever so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to teach and show us all this. Xxx
You can also make your starting change with a hook size or half size larger. Can't wait to make.
You are such a great teacher. I don’t even know how to crochet very well and I made this one and I’m so anxious to make the horse next. Thank you so much!
I love it!! ❤️ Thank you for this tutorial!! Excited for more animal squares!!🐻❄️🐾
I always crochet in the back loops of the chain to have a finished edge.
Ok this is the cutest square I've ever seen!!!! I will be making, for sure, a queen size polar bear blanket for my niece!!!! Maybe alternate with blank squares. I'm not sure yet but I know my adult niece will love this!! Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us!🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶

This is so awesome. Working on the Lion afghan for a good friends new grandson. Oh I’d love if you do a years worth. After the afghan I’m going to get busy & make the others! And what’s nice is you kept it so I think I can actually do it! Thank you. Enjoying your videos. Just came across them. 😃
This is my first crochet along. Nocatchyname sent me over. Got my first square done. So cute! Ready for the next one.
Sarah, I have recently got back into crocheting. This square is the cutest animal square I have ever seen. Oh my gosh I think even I can do this. I’m so excited to see what other animal pals you come up with 🐻❄️. I’m just so in ❤❤ with this. Thanks for sharing with us. 🧶gayle 💜

What an adorable little square. I Love it! Thank you for sharing.
What an adorable polar bear square!!! I can't wait to see what you come up with next! Thank you for sharing this.
I am not a fan of traditional granny squares so this is a.brilliant alternative and so easy. I love it! Just using the squares would make a fabulous stash-buster blanket in many colours. The polar bear decoration is lovely too. Thanks for sharing that! ❤
I am in love with your crochet hooks. ❤💯
When I sew any of my pieces on, I sew them only on the top of the piece. I catch part of a stitch under the piece with my thread not going through the back and come back up and through the piece. Where you never see any stitches on the back side.
Yes please on the whole set. This guy is super cute.
This is really cute... thank you for sharing this...
I am loving this! In fact you have got me back into crochet. Put that cross stitch aside… here comes the hook! Thank you
Love it so much! Can’t wait for the next cute project you give us!
So cute 🥰 I made this scarf for my granddaughter’s 5th bday she is going to love it. I plan on making all your other cute animal squares. This was so easy and yr tutorial was super easy to follow. Looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future
So cute, Sarah 🐻❄️💕
So cute
Спасибо, очень понравилось, связала свой первый квадрат с Вами !
This is the cutest blanket idea and have 2 little granddaughters and a grand nephew that will love it. Gotta get the yarn and get caught up asap. Thanks for the tutorials and patterns! I have had to change a few colors but I’m almost completely caught up. I thought three at one time would be difficult but everything is going well and so cute.
So cute!!
Omg!! So cute!!! Thank you. 🐻❄️
I love that idea. He is so cute. It would be fun.
I am just getting started on these squares can't wait to do more!!
🙋♀️ Sarah, this is too cute! You've inspired me to make this. ❤
Love it love it yes yes keep them coming.
My oh goodness!! That is soo stinking cute!!!
So cute.
Waiting for the next video. Just love what you come up with. ❤️
Love animal squares!!
Put soft flannel on the back with tie quilting.
That’s so cute
Great tutorial! Completed this this evening
Hi, Sarah: I made your adorable block over this weekend. It came out great! Thank you so much for offering an embroidered option for the nose instead of a safety nose. I make items for Project Linus and a sewn option is better in that situation since I don’t know the recipient. Can’t wait for February’s block! Thanks whole bunches!!
I think I will also make some plain blocks to alternat with the animals to make it a bit bigger.❤
Ohh I can't wait for next month, my pillar bear is so cute!!
Oh j'adore😍 j'en veux beaucoup d'autres comme celui ci🤩🤩🤩
Love this! I'm just getting started! What do you do with all the squares after you're done with them? What are they used for? Ty
Ah the tight chain dilemma. I started using a single crochet foundation row instead of chains. The only problem was it was coming out larger than my other rows. Simple fix, I use a size smaller hook to stitch my base row. On the other end, I have also used a size up hook to do my chain row to keep it from being tighter than my other rows. Both work. Just depends on preference. I still use both depending on what I am making. Hopefully this helps someone 😊
What does the back look like, please? Do you make a second square as backing so the stitches are hidden on back? 🤷♀️ thanks.
Should it be 6inch up and across please
When you finish your square and you say to measure.how wide and how tall are the measurements. My square has holes in it
where do you get your hooks from please ?
has anyone measured these squares so I can know an approx size of one completed prior to me diving and making one ??
0:08 - 0:12
I’m thinking I may sew on a piece of coordinating fabric on the whole back to hide all the “messy”
I’d love to know if you are planning on making a LEFT handed tutorial?
Can you make a penguin and other winter snimals
Yes, that would be so cute!
You need to try and make your videos a little better for beginners! Also while trying to follow along I have noticed on your videos for the Lion blanket you often have what you are doing off the screen which makes it very difficult especially for beginners. On the video showing how to stitch the blanket it would have been helpful for you to show a couple of rounds especially around the corners. I had to frog the project around 8 times. Thank goodness I found a video from TL Yarn Crafts to help me figure out the corners!
So cute
