- Penrith’s 16-10 win over South Sydney at BlueBet Stadium on Thursday night was overshadowed when reports emerged at half-time that a spectator was ejected due to an alleged racial slur aimed at Mitchell.

Reacting to the reports, an emotional Inglis recalled a similar incident that happened to him, before revealing just how painful it is to hear of the alleged abuse aimed at Mitchell.
“We’re not talking about the game, we’re talking about the off-field [incident], which to me is quite s-t, it’s horrible,” Ingis said on LiSTNR’s Footy Talk League Podcast.
“It’s terrible and I don’t wish that upon anyone.”

Unfortunately the racism runs deep against aboriginal/first nations people here in Australia and it's a generational thing past down,because some people want to carry on family traditions and will not change for no one! As a person of colour I've personally heard white Aussies at work talk openly about aboriginals in a racist manner calling them every derogatory term in the book and it shocked me!! And the strange thing is they've never met an aboriginal ever!! Absolutely disgraceful,move to another country if you don't like aboriginal people! I don't believe it's a racial problem. If that were so, people would hate Johnathan Thurston. And we know he was one of the most popular players. It's just that bullying someone is done by highlighting any difference and trying to make it a negative. I think this bloke…whoever it is, should get a lifetime ban from NRL matches and the NRL should come out and say “Any racism or racist remarks will be met with scrutiny and bans…if it’s a repeat offender they should be sent to the police station” I’m sick of this nonsense…

Im sorry, but the abuse is not just against Aboriginal people. I grew up in Australia and I was discriminated against because I was Jewish. Gay people have been discriminated against for years. In fact anyone that is different is discriminated against. For Inglis to say that this incident is taking over the game is rubbish. It was one occurance from a young idiot kid. The media and virtue signallers are revelling in this and its disgusting, and takes away from the underlying issue. And that is we should treat each other respectfully regardless what we look like, what religion we have.

@Crowy Alright , I was 15 at the time, and had aboriginal men and women abusing me with extremely aggressive behaviour. Your right it's not the same, I was a kid, not an adult. I totally agree what happened is wrong, but racism is only ever pointed out against non whites.
@@tc8327 this is due to the fact that racism against white people especially in Australia is not systemic, on the other hand racism is very systemic and prominent in Aboriginal communities. I understand you may of had a bad experience and you are justifiably disgusted by the experience but try to look at the bigger picture.
