If you watch this in slow mo from all different camera angles; you could tell it was intentional. Latrell knew what he was doing... he isn't stupid for not knowing either.
One thing I know for sure. Latrell did not make any public apology. In contrast, Manu's family asked the public to back off Latrell. No remorse even after he'd seen what he did. 100% Latrell went in with intent. Compare this with CHN's shoulder to the head hit on Jahrome Hughes the other week. Immediately he knew what he did, and went to help out Hughes with remorse. Latrell? None of that, he got straight up and wanted to fight when the Roosters players gathered around, showing no remorse and being unapologetic. @lucasparsons6933 confused and concerned? What's confusing about leading with your shoulder and making contact to your opponents head? Full intent to hurt him. Nothing but a grub.
Totally agree Vankruze, take a look at his highlight reel jessie jane, he takes offence to being tackled by anyone and lashes out with his feet everytime, they are grub tactics
100% Just look at the way he entered without arms shows nothing but an attempt to cause harm. This is not the first time he’s done this and if he doesn’t change he’ll continue to repeat the behaviour as seen throughout his gameplay. No doubt he has talent and class, but a player with such bad conduct cannot be allowed to continue being an active picture in the NRL. It’s not about being soft, it’s about not cause life and/or career ending injuries
None of it matters now. Manu out with a fractured check, and Latrell out for 6 weeks. The real question is was it worth it. To say that there was no intent to hurt indicates how little you know or your just a schill. The intention to hit hard so as to not run as hard the next time is and always how you go in for a tackle mostly. Hoops is a dreamer who thinks that players go into a tackle thinking rainbows and unicorns. What mindset does he think doing the biggest hit ups and biggest hits players have when running or making a hit? Has he not watched a single game of Origin? This guy makes a living talking about Rugby League? That's the kind of answer that reminds me of the decision making of the officials that night.
@@shannonavery9449 Which part? They both won't be playing. That's pretty much a foregone conclusion. The question they posed was "Did Latrell intentionally try to hurt Joey?" In the context of their question it doesn't matter one bit, neither player will be playing to make a grand final. However you may feel, it's not going to change the fact of what's already happened. I mean why even ask that question. The more concerning question is why did the officials not notice it at the time? Why did it take Manu to approach Mitchell twice? Speculating on something that no one but Mitchell can answer was just a waste of time that changes nothing and distracts from asking about what a terrible job the officials did. You have to wonder if it's them who are intentionally drawing away focus from the officials.
Let's be honest here, that was never an attempt at a "tackle". Latrell flies in high, late and leading with the shoulder and a swinging arm INTO THE FACE of Manu. Saying he "didn't mean it" or "it was a split second decision" doesn't absolve Latrell from responsibility remotely. If I hop onto the highway in my car and start zipping in and out of lanes at 200/km per hour, and then make a split second mistake that wipes out an entire family, then if my only defence is that "I didn't mean to do it and it was just a split second mistake" the cops will rightly say that I never should have put myself and anyone else in the position to begin with. It's an extreme analogy, but it feels warranted given some of Trell's defenders don't appear to understand the issue here. The fact was Latrell created this mess by creating the danger in the situation to begin with. If he had attempted to lower his body height and wrap his arms around Manu in a LEGAL tackle then we wouldn't be having this discussion, but he didn't do that, and instead opted for a highly dangerous ILLEGAL tackle that put his opponent in hospital. It was a clear cut send off and frankly he should have got 15 weeks rather than 6.
I agree latrell is my fav player but honestly the speed he was going already leaning in there no possible way for him to not hit him so i think its accidental i do go for roosters too
Did the same thing to Gagai in state of origin.Went at him like a bull outta the gates. And he plays at club land with him.Wasnt personal he has1 speed & that's full on.Take no prisoners it's a contact sport.
You can't expect an overweight centre playing out of position to have the necessary control needed for safe fullback play, especially under manic Vlandyball speed. Two wrongs were bound to not make a right.
It WASNT intentional the shot. It was careless, wouldnt say reckless, but definitely not intentional. One other thing that I can point out about Latrell is I don't agree with him slamming the ball on the ground after he scored that try. Even if he is sorry to Manu about the shot, that might work against him. But back to my point, it was careless the shot, NOT intentional
@@tedsertori9282 a shoulder charge to the head to a guy pretty much tackled after the ball is gone. Not intentional? I think Latrell knows what he's doing.

lol what a weak excuse, gagai was barely holding manu, fatrell could see manu was about to get an offload away so he tried to put a reckless shot on to make him lose the ball
The way the players from both sides kinda held off from interfering between Manu & Mitchell shows how close the 2 are/were. Usually when 2 players get close like that then players start running in from all corners. Its more embarrasing from Mitchell that he shows no remorse or empathy toward the situation. He rather takes a defensive approach as if hes done nothing wrong...

Intentionally 'injure' is the one that you want to really think about ... hurt has a boundary but did Laterall try to put the guy out of the game for a lengthy period. That is very hard to prove if you just see it at the point of the tackle but he runs 30 metres, blindsides him and makes direct contact with the head.

I played football until I was 40. I reckon I can tell when someone lines up another player with an intention to apply maximum hurt. Watching the high angle shot (not shown here), I see Mitchell line up Manu from 25 meters away where he ran in a straight line at high speed to deliver a shoulder charge on Manu. For me that goes way beyond what I want to see on any foot ball field. Having watched Mitchell for a long time it appears to me the lad has a chip on his shoulder and is often given to childish displays of petulance and anger. He has form and he needs help, sweeping this under the carpet isn't help. There have been life bans handed out for behaviour not much, if any, worse than this incident. When I hear that the injury shouldn't be taken into account I want to vomit...all over Fittler. I wish both Joey and Latrell well.
I’ve made many comments about this boys attitude for several years. Sometimes he’s been in a good environment, been positive and enjoying his football. And so were we. Other times he can wander around the field like a time bomb. I appreciate an aggressive player. But this boy cannot control this aggression. The world does not owe him any advantage on the field. And if the advantages aren’t in his favour, his attitude changes, he thinks he’s been hard done by, it doesn’t give him the right to let loose the aggression that he feels. That is…..belt someone. If this boy was Les Boyd, Mark Gyer he would have, should have been sent off for a season. Don’t get into the colour of the skin business, it’s not worth it!!!! The boy has a what about me attitude, the world owes me and I’m gonna show ‘em. Even to the point of belting his mate. He’s lost me.
Latrell definitely has an attitude and is very agressive + passionate on the field. What I will say tho is that the shot was not with intent to HURT. It was him protecting his tryline with bodies in motion coming at him. I dont like how he slammed the ball on the ground after his try later on, but this shot was meant to stop Manu.

Correct me if I´m wrong: earlier in the game, wasn´t there a clip of Latrelle narrowly avoiding a pass meant for him running at speed towards the line (during attack)?, yet he had the reflexes to avoid the pass and let it go to the outside player. It was beautiful to watch. Yet later on in the same game, he can line up an opponent from yards away, and accurately smash his shoulder into his opponents jaw during defence. Looks like intent. Mike Tyson had bad intentions. Latrelle Mitchelle has bad intentions. These athletes are what sell tickets and generate interest regardless of the consequences. It´s obvious the NRL couldn´t care less about player welfare and anything else they tell you is just bullshit.
I would love to know why the NRL think they are so precious and high & mighty that they cannot be criticised, put under the microscope, scrutinised or questioned. He can't concede his mistakes or when he's in the wrong for his contribution - it's stepping up to the plate when necessary and taking responsibility and setting a GOOD PRECEDENT for everyone eg communicating when you got something wrong. Then it solves itself.
Someone needs to MENTOR Latrell on his mentality. Great player and not the only one either but a big talent takes more of the lime light. I can't tell about the intention, probably reckless because he has too much ego in what he does - that's the root of it eg the above track record. I hope someone mentors him because he's probably a decent bloke like 99% of people given a chance.

Actually still does matter...
@Two Olive Trees Congregation you have problems dude.

Goodbye Latrell...
@@nigelyorkshiremanwadeley6263 u mean goodbye JWH
Manu's body fell at least half a foot in the second before the impact. Latrell wanted to hit him hard, that's for sure, but he wasn't aiming for his head.
Latrell needs to get in the ring with a boxer and needs to be taught a lesson thinks his top dog all the time should be embarrassed in himself
hes gonna hit another deep depression. he will start drinking for days with his cousins, and then he will hit his mrs. just another depressed indigineous
@@nodissdiss275 what happened did mum or dad run off with a black man/woman 🤡
He wont step into a boxing ring, it will have to be MMA, he doesn't know how to throw a punch

@@nodissdiss275 you were the one bagging out one of the strongest players in the game and disrespecting a whole race yet you're calling someone a keyboard warrior? ffs
Just curious, what happened to Hadley? I don’t see him on 360 anymore. I assume no good?
Likely corona lockdown affects him. Could be personal choice to not travel to different workplaces to protect himself.
There is something deeply concerning about Latrell.
Time after time after time after time.
Getting suspended
Breaking protocols
Fighting with Origin coach
Leaving former club on questionable terms
Breaking faces
It is. He cries racism when fans bash him for it. He's also become NRL favorite som for some reason, where he can do no wrong which just makes everyone hate him even more when he's being shoved in people faces
This aged very well.
He went in hard as he should have, it went a bit wrong and everyone knows he didn't mean to smash his face.
I personally like how he stuck it up them, he didn't mean it and it's a tough game where things go wrong sometimes, no need to cry about it.
I'm a dragons fan but I respect latrells winning mentality.
Put him in a room with either...

Idk why I’m saying this but, like cmon Ofc a roosters coach and a roosters player are gonna say Latrell did that intensionaly but I have a stand,u see ik Joey is one of the most farest person u can ever see or know but it kinda looked like he ducked down then trell accidentally hit him which caused it to bursed out his cheeks but it’s fine now Joey’s fine they’re still good mates and yea that’s it
I think he intentionally went for a big hit on the body but because Joey was already falling he got hit in the face.
i hope manu is okay he is such a good bloke
The style of the Mitchel’s tackle was unnecessary- There was no legitimate reason for his shoulder charge
One reason why he wasn't sent off it's Latrell Mitchell one. Two the club he plays for. The bunker stuffed up and the touch judge as well.
Thank you panel! Not sugar coating it like the channel 9 team!
this was a intentional shoulder charge which ended up braking a mans face so he gets exactly what he deserves
Mitchell is an A-grade grub. We saw it all in this match.
True but still good player
Ref: I’m penalising you
Mitchell: wHY?
Why? Oh I don’t know maybe because of the fact that you fucking broke Manu’s jaw. I can’t believe he said why, Mitchell is a grub and a thug
I don't think Latrell had intend to take Manu out of the game but Latrell Latrell had every intend to put a big shot on and he hit Manu in the head but the sad thing is everyone is talking about this shot and not how good Parramatta played on the weekend
I bet latrell feels like a grub right about now you can see mitchells was going high he chose to go high that's was intentional.
He needs to be banned for 1 whole season! MINIMUM, the guy is just out of control. Sure was intent to hurt and was illegal
Give me a break mate he,s a bit wayward but a season come on. There's a couple of other so called grubs in the game that no one mentions to much, but are just as bad munster cherry Evans just to name a few.
@@pietromora2297 M8 you are entitled to your opinion, same game the guy scores a try and then heaves the ball into the face of the tackler while he was on the ground. He is off the chart agro. should have been sent off for the head shot.
@@enlightenment6278 yes you could be right but the NRL officials are puppets only doing what they are told to do. You,ve only got to look at the bunker. Trent Robinsons right if they can,t see what everyone else can they should,nt be in their, oh and on the Latrell incident, like I said I didn't say I was right it's just my point of view. And it isn't because I,m a souths supporter. If that's what happened to anyone I,d feel the same. Fine example Victor Radly against the Broncos, what a joke because he stuck it in to them he got 5 weeks, come on what a joke. But if Trent Robinson thinks it only happens to the Roosters then his kidding himself. And another fine example Jordan Rapana on report for a shoulder charge that looked a whole lot like 1 Nathan Cleary done on his return from injury but he got off with a slap on the wrist. The bunker is a farce, joke, rort what ever the case fraudulent at it's best. I think most of the time they have bets on the game, sounds crazy but not impossible. I think there should be no bunker, the ref should decide by way of the replay on a big screen they have them at most grounds 1 perso 1 decision, then he has to live with the consequences. When you start having to many decision making from different people, thats where the fraud starts, If you watch a lot of times through the games how many times have you seen the bunker come in about something that happened 3 tackles back then in the next game same thing happens nothing said. The NRL think people are stupid, if it isn't the way they want it to go they come up with some bullshit there was,nt enough evidence to change the on field decision please, they make the rules to suit the cause, because if they ain't making profit it isn't worth the rort. They would make great Politicians, Vlandys, Abdo, and Annesly. Seeya have a great finals series 👏
@@pietromora2297 Totaly agree with everything you have stated, except the bunker is now an established part of the game as TV and replays are a fabulous part of the big show and is key to dramatizing and proveing the duditial system. I am a warriors fan so all these years I am used to Aussie teams raising their game to defeat the interlopers for national pride and all that comes with that from officials. It may be a subconcious thing that influences officials, but 1% is a massive advantage when consistently applied against 1 team in a competition over decades between teams in such an ultra competetive sport like the NRL
lmaoooooo this happens every month get over yourself you casual
Souths missed Latrell in the GF.
A grub of the highest quality .bully comes to mind and first to cry when he's in trouble disgusting excuse for a footy player
I’ve all ways stuck up for latrell but after seeing him do this I’m not going to stick up for him anywhere
Anymore
A blind man can see that head shot was intentional. Mitchell intended to hurt Manu.
yea right mate, Latrell wanted to end the rest of his season?
@@harveyking5038 you clearly did not read or maybe understand what I wrote. I get that.
Watching this as soon as I saw Latrell come into the shot I was thinking sheez he's travelling at a rate of knots somethings going to happen here then BOOM!!!
Mitchells a grub, its been coached into him at Souths!!! he's spent 10 weeks on the side line of 25,this year
Definitely intentional
He pleaded guilty!!!
If he felt that it wasn't intentional, he would of pleaded not guilty!!
What do you mean he’s always been a grub
And Mitchell tried on the same Grub Act against the Warriors, this weekend with a swinging elbow with Shaun Johnson
