  • This lovely 1989 third-generation Honda Prelude was submitted to Shooting Brake for auction. With just 35,000 miles on the clock, we didn't fancy taking it for a full road-test, but instead cruised around leafy south-west London to show you the sights and sounds of an 80's Japanese icon.
If you fancy your own slice of Japanese motoring history, this Prelude is LIVE now on auction at shootingbrake.com. With over 100 detailed photographs, a comprehensive description and a road-test undertaken, buyers should bid in confidence.

Modern cars are computer assist and no longer give you the driver to be in control.

I miss my 88 Si soooo much, best car I ever owned. It was canary yellow. Best shifter. Took curves amazingly. A lady pulled out in front of me and it was totaled in 96.

I remember my friend borrowing his Dads white Prelude in 1988, we would go out clubbing in it and I was always amazed how good it was.

I had a white 89 Prelude SI from brand New, best car I ever owned. The 4WS was a cool feature, I wish it was still on cars sooner than all the electronic Gizmo's I don't need.

I’ve just bought a 2nd Gen 1984 1.8EX with an astonishing 2280 miles from new on the clock. Despite being in storage for 39 years it only needed a service, a full brake overhaul and a rear exhaust section. Will have a full MOT next week then I intend to enjoy it on the road. Enjoyed your informed review and your presentation style.
