Thank you for clarifying the point that I shouldn’t focus on pilot stuff. I’ve got my second trail in 4-5 months and I’m planning on studying my ass off to pass. Congrats!
I’m getting my bachelors very soon so commissioning is just right around the corner now! But no rush, do this when you’re ready. There is one thing that could motivate you a little bit more is that once you finish this test, you’ll have to get an OTS slot if you didn’t go the ROTC route. That could take a couple months or over a year depending on how many people are applying.
I have to reschedule to next week Friday. My entire Squadron is in quarantine due to an outbreak of COVID, I just got tested. I'll you keep guys posted.
You can take the test a 3rd time ONLY after completing a college level course since your second attempt that directly applies to at least one portion of the exam. Then and only then you will get a third attempt and they will do a "superscore" where they take your highest score in each section from the three attempts as your final scores. I recommend just studying hard for 6mo to avoid having to retake it at all. but some people are just bad test takers.
Thanks for the detailed info! But like you said at the end, it would be smarter to just study hard for a couple months so you don't have to retake it that many times.
I took it a few days ago and I'm nervous. There was no timer like you mentioned just a clock and beeper that goes off. I ran out of time on some sections and had to randomly bubble stuff in like you stated. I hope I scored well enough, if not I now know how to tackle this test better next time
hey got a question for you, i have a year left in my bachelors, can i take the afoqt before finishing? or do i have to finish first. i want to apply to the the ots route
How does the scoring work? I took the practice test and got a 90%, but it seems like the minimum scores listed are 25 15 or 10 depending on what you want to do. Are those percentiles?
I take the AFOQT tomorrow, excited, hoping to enter the 20OT04 board since they changed the schedule cant enter the 03 board anymore as its only non rated and I want a rated slow, plus im active duty enlisted.. .hope to see you on the other side!
KSStheAviator Great luck to you brother! 😬 Are you going in as a pilot as well? It’s definitely a goal of mine so I’m gonna get some flight hours to boost my PCSM score. Greetings from Andrews!
How do you "test" on just the areas you want to qualify for? I don't want to be a pilot. I'm interested in being a personnel or cyber officer. I'm currently ad, air force. Thanks for your input
The main sections that add up for the pilot score are: arithmetic reasoning, math knowledge, instrument comprehension, table reading, and aviation information. But I recommend trying to do well in all because you will be competing with a bunch of other people.
were formulas given to you in the math sections? I have my test this Saturday and knowing if the formulas are provided will help me not have to remember or stress so much.
kekoa santiago There are some common math formulas provided but knowing some formulas beforehand will save you more time on the math sections. Good luck!
If I'm just a ROTC cadet and I don't want to be a pilot or navigator, can I just pass the first quantitative and verbal sections and be fine for commission?
Pls what section should I attempt for been Air force officer.I studied History for my Under grad and planning of studying intelligence studies for my grad sch....
@Jem Salazar, I’m just trying to understand this fully. So if I’m not penalized for guessing, there are still incorrect answers, right? Since there are set scores that you need to achieve. Just trying to figure it out since I am trying to find the best studying materials for the AFOQT. Do you have any updated resources since making this video?
There are still incorrect answers but what I was trying to say was that you’ll have a higher chance of getting a question right by guessing on questions you don’t have time to contemplate about. I have two links to amazon with fairly up to date book material to study from. But let me ask this, what AFSC are you trying to obtain?
Congrats man! You gotta think like an officer man and be there for the people. Just because some may find things to be easier doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give out information others may need.
Thank you for clarifying the point that I shouldn’t focus on pilot stuff. I’ve got my second trail in 4-5 months and I’m planning on studying my ass off to pass. Congrats!
Got my bachelor’s back in May, but keep procrastinating and putting this test off. Thanks for the video and much needed motivation! 💪🏽

Congrats on passing! You will do great things :)

This was very informative, thank you! I have a year to study. I may try to take the test a few months before I complete grad school (May 2021).
I’m glad this video was able to help out 😅 but yes! Good luck on your studies including your grad school (awesome!)
Rip I scheduled the test 10 days before hand. I’m taking it the 25th and just got my test prep today.
Congrats! I’m studying now for the AFOQT! 🤞🏽
Brianna Lashay thank you very much! Good luck on your test too 🥳
My brother and I are really considering commissioning into the Air Force, thanks for the video
Thanks for the video man!!!

Congrats Jem!
Thanks brother! 🥳🇺🇸 Happy New Years!
Cant pass the asvab so I'm doing this
hey got a question for you, i have a year left in my bachelors, can i take the afoqt before finishing? or do i have to finish first. i want to apply to the the ots route
Yes you can take the AFOQT before then. I actually took it a year before I got my bachelors.
My dude!
I see you started the video as an A1C and finished it as a SSgt👍
It was SRA but yeah I made this video as soon as I got back from ALS, hence the new rank 😅
Hey is the general science section counted on the pilot or navigator score?
How does the scoring work? I took the practice test and got a 90%, but it seems like the minimum scores listed are 25 15 or 10 depending on what you want to do. Are those percentiles?
Yes, it is scored as percentiles. You are scored in comparison to your peers who also took that test version
I take the AFOQT tomorrow, excited, hoping to enter the 20OT04 board since they changed the schedule cant enter the 03 board anymore as its only non rated and I want a rated slow, plus im active duty enlisted.. .hope to see you on the other side!

KSStheAviator how was it?
KSStheAviator congrats! How did it go?
What is the best website that is best for informing myself

You probably figured out your answer, but you have to take every portion of the test regardless if you're interested in Rated or not.
Hi , which book does have cd with test questions..?
I’m a commercial pilot and am only going to be a pilot if I join military, what are the only sections I should study?
The main sections that add up for the pilot score are: arithmetic reasoning, math knowledge, instrument comprehension, table reading, and aviation information. But I recommend trying to do well in all because you will be competing with a bunch of other people.

@kekoa santiago, how did you test go?
Brown Elizabeth Garcia William Jackson Brenda

John Frye yes

I don’t know if you have a answer this but can a person holding a “international degree” can join the Air Force as an officer?
How long does it take for results to come back?
Did your rank changed half way through the video? :) (5:17)
Are calculators allowed?
No
what's your job with in the Air Force?
Hello my new friend 😘😘😘😘
What were your scores?
Dwight Thomas Well above the minimum! Can’t post scores here haha
When do you get your score for the AFOQT?
I got mine three business days later
I crushed it and I didn't study like a nerd
Ok there Lt.

Jem Salazar intelligence hopefully 🙏
Scored a 93 first try.. Idk if that was blind luck or not but I thought I did terrible.. regardless they didn't need to know all that lmao.
Congrats man! You gotta think like an officer man and be there for the people. Just because some may find things to be easier doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give out information others may need.
Isn't studying defeating the purpose of an aptitude test
It’s better to know what to expect than to jump in there blindly.
Is it possible to cheat on the test? I take my test in a few dayz ;(
DONT CHEAT ITS NOT WORTH IT.
6 months to a year 🫠 that’s a long time!
