US Mint says uncirculated Morgan 275,000 and proof Morgan 400,000 produced.
He was mistaken in the unlimited
"We got a dry cool place right here...that's us" lol
I received my 2023 Morgan proof today. It’s flawless and an absolute beauty!
Hi, Ben. I am buying one of every new M&P Dollars that comes out. I have done the same with the ASE. This year's coins all look to be 70s to me. I don't call them Commemoratives because the Mint doesn't call them that. I like the new finishes, but then, I never expected them to look like the classic, 90% coins. I am looking forward to the Reverse Proof Set. Thanks.
You must have gotten one of the nice proof peace dollars;) mine is lacking... I was holding out to no avail. 🫠
Hi Ben, love your channel! BTW: Here are the production limits on all those morgan/peace issues: Morgan Uncirculated ( 23XE ) : 275,000, Peace Uncirculated ( 23XH ): 275,000 ... Morgan Proof ( 23XF ): 400,000, Peace Proof ( 23XL ): 400,000
Hey Ben, I only purchased the proof Morgan and Peace - I don't see well but the Peace Dollar "looks" flawless and my favorite of the two. I really like the open fields. The Morgan I received is very nice also - Yes, the price is like 3 times spot but what do you expect? The mint has to cover their costs!!!! Best Wishes I'll be watching for your Vegas roundup video
I subscribed for one 2023 Two-Coin Reverse Proof Set due out 11/14/23.
Pretty minor point, but did you notice that the amount of silver in the 21 peace differs from the 23 peace? One is .858 oz the other .859. Surprised they are not identical.
It looks like your proof Peace specimen has the circular hazing on the front and back that I've seen in other videos. These coins definitely show a lack of QC by the mint, for a premium product.
Upon careful inspection, I have figured out that the obverse of my proofs are commemoratives, but the reverse is NOT!!! :-0
I hope ANACS will designate the error. I’m rich Ben, RICH!!
So glad I got mine and that every collector has gotten a chance to get theirs unlike 2021. At least these are actually $5 cheaper than the BU 2021's lol. Totally worth it considering what OG proof-likes cost. Imagine what these might be worth in 100 years...
Just ordered a proof peace and Morgan they looks amazing
I have a '22 Morgan Carr, have to say, he does great work.
I have the 2022 Peace Broken sword🎉
I love my 22 peace dollar even though it was twice the price as the mint
Dan Car issues are well worth it!🎉🎉
Good day, they are very nice looking coins in my opinion they will be like silver eagles all will be graded a 69 or 70 unlike the originals these were made for collectors just to put back.
It is so disappointing that the mint did not make these coins 90 percent.
I agree. These coins are like any other commem as far as I'm concerned. They aren't real Peace and Morgan dollars but many are treating them as such.
I think they are beautiful coins. Really thought the reverse on the Peace proof was special.
*FIRST*
I purchased one each of the 2023 Morgan and Peace with both being MS70 by PCGS. I was very unimpressed by both, so much so that I sold them within a week. Sold for maybe $20 profit but i would have been fine just breaking even. To me they didn't have any eye appeal, just a dull like satin look. Theres nothing that catches your attention when looking them over.
I plan on getting the proofs, I'm sure they'll be pleasing to gaze upon😊
Ms 70 for both I just ordered
Thank you Ben!!
Beautiful coins, indeed! Can’t wait until mine come in, graded MS70. Pumped up! Thanks, Ben!
It's 3:17pm est... you're 17 minutes late 🤣
Plus excited to receive my tracking number for the '43 dime, nickel and steel cent earlier today 🎉
Oh, one thing... on the Morgans it looks like the proof has a weaker strike because it appears there's less details in the hair, or is it just the dies they used?
I purchased both the uncirculated and proofs Morgan and Peace NCC (noncommemorative commemorative). Nice coins. They just don't have the luster as the original Morgan's. If the mint was wise, they'd find a way to put the cartwheel luster on the 2024 uncirculated. Thanks for sharing. Great education.
The Morgan proof I received has a ding on the reverse - disappointing. The Peace proof I received looks awesome.
that line is on the case. those are nice coins. my peace dollars is not well centered.
I got both sets and they both look great. I also picked up (3) Daniel Carr 2022, CC, O Morgans, and a D Peace Dollar to fill that 2022 void the US mint decided to skip in their infinite wisdom.
Just ordered the proof set directly from the mint. I thought about ordering them already graded in 70 but decided to just buy the coins now and pay the grading fees later. I just worry if i wait too long, they will start to be more stingy with the 70 grade. To be honest, I have no experience getting modern coins graded so I really don't know what to expect.
I think of these more as a Commemorative , nothing like the real thing...
Dear Ben, yes I do like these coins and I did order them but I wish I would've known about the reverse proofs before I made plans to purchase them. I think I would've only bought the the reverse proofs and regular proofs instead.
By the way I wanted to Thank YOU Very Much for opening up the uncirculated tube coins and making them available to more your customers. I know you have a business to run a business but you need to remember who is your bread-and-butter.
Irritating to watch videos about uncirculated coins that will not be available to your regular customers who cannot afford to buy whole tubes of uncirculated coins.
After all we want to coins also!!
So again thank YOU very much!
Sincerely,
Normand
Can’t wait for the reverse proof coins later this year… should be a nice. Just got my uncirculated ones back and both received MS70 grade. They did limit the production to 400k on the proofs and I think 275k on the circulated.
Have I asked you for help before? My collection is quite large? I will share my stuff with others. 😊
1 oz. Silver $80.00. Noway.😢
Did you say ani defranco lmao, almost missed it, that was hilarious
My opinion is this.. The US Mint produces commemorative coins.. These are not in their commemorative program.
Greysheet lists 2021-2023 Morgan and Peace as Commemoratives😊
I was (and remain) pretty unimpressed with the uncirculated Morgan. The Unc and Proof Peace both look good and I do like the proof Morgan. I haven't bought any, at least not yet. Part of what I like about the original coins is the history, which these lack. We'll see what happens, maybe I'll be able to convince myself to buy one or two
Coins in hand I remain unimpressed. Hopefully the reverse proofs will be worth the hype and price.
the line in the case can be taken out. the first time opening the capsule is the hardest, must be done carefully. you have to carefully pry the case around the full circumference gently and work it off slowly to avoid cracking the case.
I still wish the unc Morgan had a more natural finish, but I guess that's just beating a dead horse.
I only got the proof versions. My proof Morgan’s look flawless, but the Peace ones have the ring of death similar to yours. I too think they look more like a commemorative (or a medal) than a coin. That is why I didn’t purchase the uncirculated versions, even with a lower mintage.
Freshest lists then as commemorative s in their price guide.
These are NIFMC coins… not intended for my collection!
The uncirculated ones have a different look compared to the real issues of a hundred years ago. Not in a good way.
Yeah they have no luster
Collecting since 1964 - 4 years old!
These artificially scarce/rare dollars are such a joke.
I just can't get excited about these. Maybe if they were 90% silver
Looks like they improved over the 2021, which looked super fake.
Maybe the Mint will someday come out with some new designs instead of playing off old designs with various overpriced finishes, but I doubt it
Pretty coins, but overpriced. They look perfect, but not real.
Modern coins all have this lame soft molded look to the design elements rather than the crispness of cutting into the die. Technically perfect, aesthetically disappointing.
