- Pamela Colman Smith was the Illustrator of the Rider Waite Tarot deck. Her life was filled with highs and lows, and she may well have fallen into obscurity if US Games Systems founder, Stuart Kaplan, hadn't taken a keen interest in her, and worked to preserve her legacy. This is her story.

She was buried in Bude Cornwall UK , there is no head stone but I have spent a lot of time there and always thank her for her wonderful work.
I just heard about Pamela Colman Smith this year! Her life is so interesting and diverse. I'm so glad to know more about her.
She really is fascinating.
Today is her birthday! 🌟 I was doing some research and I found this. Thank you so much for providing us this informative video!! I will be looking forward to your tarot Tuesday’s.
That was a wonderful bio on such a beautiful illustrator. I love Pamela, I find so much great symbolism in her work.
Looking for an interesting video- saw this and clicked... lady I wish this was hours long, can u start series 😍
I'll take that into consideration! I've got a great book on her life that I need to dig into further - so many ups and downs. She really was an amazing woman and more people need to know her story.
Ladies I’m a huge PCS fan girl, if you want a GREAT book about her read “Magician and Fool” by Susan Wands. Amazon has it for pretty cheap and it’s amazing. I’m also half British half Jamaican (unfortunately I’m white as a ghost 😩 ffs) but I digress...I naturally gravitated toward her, and I’m so glad I did, because she was an incredible mind. She saw colors when music played, I forget what they call that but it’s really rare, and she was naturally psychic. I could go on forever but instead of reading my babbling get the book! Lol ☮️ &♥️
I like when u concluded near end of commentary, "Give her a little shout out when doing your readings." So sweet and honoring 🎖
I really enjoyed this video. I clicked when I saw her name. It’s sad she didn’t receive recognition but for some reason I feel grateful that she is being recognized now.
Thank you for this awesome video on the life of Pixy !All the best !

Very informative video. Thank you!
Glad to get information on this artist. Look for her initials on the cards. :)
She drew her initials PCS on every card of the Rider-Waite deck.
I'm waiting for my Centennial decks now 1 borderless 1 in a tin, I'm super excited. Great history lesson in 5min, I had no idea and I'm intrigued to learn more about Pixie now. Thank you
Excellent, thank you.
Happy Birthday Pixi!

I really enjoyed your Tarot Tuesday on Pamela Colman. I'm a big fan of the "Waite-Smith" tradition. Also, I have been reading the book "Secrets of the Waite-Smith" and your video totally covered many parts of the book. Great review, visuals and presentation. Thank you! 🌟🌟🌟
“The Hill of Hearts Desire” look it up! It’s a full map 🗺️ of the tarot that she created!
Thank you for this! Really great!
I think you have a great channel. I hope you decide to go back to it.
wow, thank you so much for telling us about this inspiring woman!! this was very insightful thank you
Great video❤
Excellent video! Thanks!
Nice video
Your energy is so great 💞
She signed every card with PCS.
So you said in the beginning of this that she was a women of color, however you never expanded on this. When I look her up I find no evidence. Could you explain how you came to this conclusion please.
Her mother was Jamaican.
@@bigtittygoblin what is your evidence? According to my research her mother was born in Massachusetts. Her mother died in Jamaica, but she was not Jamaican.
Look at the picture it’s obvious
I love your video! Thank-you for this!
Where can I get this tarot cards?
I thought you would say something specific about the person of color thing.
I had no idea she was Black.
The research i did in earlier years never mentioned that.
She isn’t(*wasn’t). She cosplayed as a Jamaican and sometimes Roma woman and that made people assume that she was. Both of her parents are white people who were well off and connected.
@@AshaA2 Thank you for correcting the myth.
She came from Agarta ❤️
Haha I came across this after picking up the miniature deck too! When I started years ago as a preteen with the jumbo cards they never had her info card in it and it was an authorised deck iirc. I put her in my phone case and take her with me
