Lordship Salvation heretics think that repentance means, SWEAR AN OATH THAT I WILL STOP SINNING.
But repentance is much deeper. It's not wrought by the willpower of man. It's a change of BELIEFS in your mind. And that is forged by UNDERSTANDING the WORD and the HOLY SPIRIT making our wills accept.

I love your channel ...I wish there were less commercials. Ephesians 2: 8-9 + 10... make it clear that not only are we being saved through Grace and Faith (ALONE) ....but even the Faith...is a gift that will have FRUITS of good works. Also I would like to add one of the best things I ever heard from a preacher I knew: "Take sides against yourself with God". Last point: My favorite verse is John 6:37. My life hangs my soul hangs on this one verse: All that the Father gives to me, will come to me...and whoever comes to me ...I will never ever cast out!
Pick-your-own favorite translation but that's what it says. We start as a gift by the Father to the Son... that is why we come ...and that is why we will never be cast away. God bless God for such a Salvation! ❤

Great Job brothers! This is so needed.
    ‭‭Psalms 51:6-12
[6] Surely you desire integrity in the inner self, and you teach me wisdom deep within. [7] Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. [8] Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. [9] Turn your face away from my sins and blot out all my guilt. [10] God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me. [11] Do not banish me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. [12] Restore the joy of your salvation to me, and sustain me by giving me a willing spirit.
God creates our new heart. Also John 15. He grows the fruit.
    ‭‭1 John 5:3 CSB‬‬

we keep his commandments because we love him, because he first loved us.

On repentance, we have long been up against the Reformed concept of regeneration preceding faith and repentance. Every time that I hear this preached that regeneration is loaded with the responsibilities of everything that is to be accomplished in sanctification. And the statement is always made, "You cannot separate sanctification from justification.". The regeneration is always turned into the guillotine of lordship demands.

Tha was nearly 40 years ago and I have never heard anything so confusing about the Gospel! John 3:16-17 and countless other verses tells us that believing in His death & resurrection is all you need to be saved! You're making the gospel sound so complicated that people will leave more confused! If the Gospel you are 'trying' to explain cannot be understood by a little child, then you've got it all wrong! Remember the Lord said. " Unless you become like little children you will be able to enter the Kingdom of God!! But then again you guys follow the wrong JC!

@endtimesareuponus8930 . . Paul calls it putting off the old man and putting on the new man, (Eph 4:22-24).
It’s a daily choice that each believer is required to make if they desire to live for the Lord. Being born again is a one time act whereas, living for God is a lifetime of faith, plus works which is faithfulness to God or works of faith.
Faith in Jesus Christ is the only requirement for the new birth and it can not be lost; whereas faith plus works (faithfulness to Jesus Christ) is not necessary for entrance into heaven, but it is necessary for entrance into the kingdom of heaven.

Mark 1:15. Acts 26:20 clarifies repentance is turning from something (sin) to performing good deeds (keeping God's word). See Luke 3:8-14. Acts 3:19 turning from something (self). It's a change of mind that results in action (following Christ and his will vs. our own).
While repentance is not a work that earns salvation, repentance unto salvation does result in works. It is impossible to truly change your mind without changing your actions in some way. In the Bible, repentance results in a change in behavior. That is why John the Baptist called people to “produce fruit in keeping with repentance”. Matt 3:8.
A changed life is evidence of true salvation. James 2:14-26.

How can any discussion of the Gospel not include mention of the restoration of the Holy Spirit? This video was all about the forgiveness of sins but 'forgiveness of sins' is NOT salvation. Remember that the word "gospel" is a word that means "good news". When Jesus mentions the 'gospel' during His earthly ministry He was referring to the "good news" of the Mosaic Law. He was not referring to the new "good news" that comes from the New Covenant that He would later establish by His death, burial and resurrection. The "good news" of the Mosaic Law was if you keep all of the commands PERFECTLY you will be blessed in your flesh. For us, we who live under the New Covenant, we are saved because we believe in Christ and everything that He did for us. That being said, as is documented in the scriptures, Jesus is the Lamb of God who TOOK AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD. That is ALL of the sins of the entire world. The entire world has been forgiven. However the entire world is not saved. I do not get that from this presentation. The "bad news" is that Adam and Eve sinned and died. They died on the very day they sinned. The death that they suffered was not a physical death but it was the departing of the Spirit of Life that was breathed into humanity at creation. The "Good New" of the Gospel of the New Covenant is the restoration of that spirit when we believe in the fullness of who Jesus is and what He did for us. And, since Jesus took away all of the sin of the world there is no longer any sin that can cause that spirit to depart ever again. Isn't that of some importance? God bless.

The Gospel is the message contained in its fullness in all four Gospels; The Gospel according to Matthew, The Gospel according to Mark, The Gospel according to Luke, and the Gospel according John.....the entire contents of the Good News, the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and Christ the risen King.
"but Jesus said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.”(Luke 4:43)
" Soon afterward Jesus went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him (Luke 8:1)"
    Matt. 28: 19 - 20
[19] Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.

Guys there is a part we play in salvation. Justin, what happened to the confessions. You claimed that if you're alone and as long as you preach Christ its okay. Talking out of 2 sides of your mouth. Youre leaving the fold to stand on your own. Now you're a biblicist. Calvinism's regeneration preceding faith muddies the process. We have to receive salvation, regeneration (synonymous) by faith. Faith is not a work. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Faith comes first and then we are regenerated. Faith is not a monergistic, magical sprinkling of fairy dust. We either hear the Word preached or someone witnessed to us sharing the Word or we read it for ourselves. We receive faith and then we by our own volition place that faith in the salvific work of Christ and are saved.
0 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

@16-17 min. on the imputed righteousness of Jesus; I cannot agree that this righteousness is the obedience to the law. Adam did not ever have the law to break, in order to set up the need for Jesus to obey the law to account us righteous. The covenant of works sets up several false assumptions not grounded in the Bible.

@@THEOCAST that fruit of that tree prohibition was Adam's ONE COMMANDMENT. If Jesus was to reverse Adam's commandment sin then He needed to vomit that fruit. My disagreement is NOT against the fact that the obedience of Jesus is counted as the righteousness for which we are graciously accounted righteous /our justification for all eternity ( Rom. 5:18-21). I must denounce the idea that Jesus obeyed the law and that this obedience was that righteousness accounted for our justification. I am stating that this is a fiction.

@@THEOCAST yes, that was Adam's ONE COMMANDMENT. But that is NOT THE LAW. I have an acorn. It is not an oak tree. It could be but never will be, not in my pocket.. God never gave to Adam the law. Fiction.

    • @JosephBoxmeyer

@@THEOCAST the great covenant of works error is attributable to the R.C. concept that the law is eternal. This error falsely established the law as God's standard of righteousness.. Paul insists that now by the gospel is revealed the righteousness of God without the law . Let that sink in. The law is not the standard of righteousness. Our righteousness by faith is NOT A LAW RIGHTEOUSNESS How do you get around this?.

    • @JosephBoxmeyer
      @JosephBoxmeyer 4 месяца назад

@@THEOCAST we are agreed that on the basis of Rom. Five and 1Corin. 15:21-22 that Jesus removed Adam's curses of sin and death due to his sin. But because Adam did not have the law, obedience to the law did not, could not remove the curse from Adam's sin. Jesus' personal obedience to the law fulfilled righteousness, but not our righteousness. That is an unfair switch. The covenant of works is a false assumption. It changes the gospel.

The gospel is super simple, 1 cor 15 verse 1 and 2 literally say this is the gospel by which you are saved. Don’t let false teachers confuse you with Calvinism and all this nonsense.
The gospel- 1 cor 15:3-4(read the verses above it too if you have time)
1 Corinthians 15:3 For I deliuered vnto you first of all, that which I also receiued, how that Christ died for our sinnes according to the Scriptures:
1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose againe the third day according to the Scriptures.
If you believe that, you are saved forever. You have eternal life (read all of John 6) through faith alone, with no good deeds of your own involved. You cannot lose it. Other verses help clear things up too, but that’s all you need to believe to be saved. Like in Ephesians 2:8-9, it shows were only saved by grace through faith. Faith in what? That gospel, faith in the blood of Jesus as Romans 3:25 notes. The gospel in summation is Christ’s blood atonement. So if you see stuff like “faith in his blood” in Roman’s or other passages, that is referencing the gospel. Any subtle adding or removing from the gospel and that is another gospel. Hopefully that makes sense, i don’t want to confuse you with the latter part. The gospel is super super simple.
Like I’ve helped a man get saved in probably under a minute just telling him that. He believed it. Obviously I didn’t save him, Jesus did, but they can’t hear unless someone tells them the gospel.

Thanks! I found Acts 8:34-48 interesting for this question. The Holy Spirit came on them, confirming their salvation ( v44), so we can assume the gospel is everything preached up to that point:
      1. the nature and work of Christ -that he is 'lord of all' i.e. God
      2. His death and reserection
      3. Our personal faith in him for forgiveness of sins.
Also in John 8 there appears to be jews who "believed" in him but were not saved because they dont believe "I Am".
I understand this is Jesus saying that he is Yahwey i.e. God.
So this is also a prerequisite - although its not that clear from 1 Corinthians 15.

@@andrewgeorge7898 Yea, this is where the studying portion comes in. The gospel is simple, but if you want to understand the scriptures as a whole, things do get difficult to understand as 2 peter 3:16 says about Paul's letters; it takes studying.
However, I can hopefully address those points since I've spent a good amount of time on them.
First, regarding acts 8. An important thing to recognize is Paul was given a distinct gospel from before - he is briefly first mentioned in acts 8, but acts 9 and beyond is when his story picks up and begins. If you read Galatians 2, Paul notes how Peter and the others went with the gospel of the circumcision to the Jews, while he went with the gospel of Christ (uncircumcision) to the gentiles. Obviously, they both preached to both parties, but probably about 95-99% of their respective party. The point is, there are different gospels in the bible. The gospel for today is what Christ gave Paul in 1 cor 15:1-4. Now, salvation has always been by faith alone with zero works, but faith in subtly different things regarding God. For Abraham, it was believing God's promise. For the Jews before Christ's death, it was in his Lordship and his nature as God, basically he was who he says he was. For the people in Acts 8 before Paul spread his ministry, it was something subtly different than 1 cor 15 as well. I know this really emphasized Paul’s importance, and he was just a man, but a very important one for God’s purpose. Even Peter acknowledged that in 2 Peter 3. God gave Paul special knowledge that would be for the entire world, not just the Jews. Notice a trend though, from all time it was believing in God’s words, which is why the Bible is so important. Gods words updated after Christ’s resurrection so that people now have to come by faith in that to God, unto eternal life.
It was still faith, but notice verse 12:
But when they beleeued Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdome of God, and the Name of Iesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
Also, notice in verse 25 Peter went with Phillip to preach the gospel to other people. So this is still a gospel, or good news, but it is not "the gospel" for today as Paul describes. Notice how it is being saved by believing the name of Jesus. Today, it is believing in his blood, his atonement. As romans 3:25 says, "through faith in his blood". It is a very subtle distinction, but it is quite intuitive. Obviously before Paul began his ministry and was revealed mysteries, they couldn't have known about the blood atonement of Christ. The early apostles like Peter just knew Christ died and rose again like he preaches in Acts 2. The Jews in acts 2 believed that and were saved, then baptized (set off by commas in acts 2:38). Today, the gospel is that Christ died "for our sins", which the early disciples weren't consciously aware of before Paul.
I think this is what Galatians means when Paul is talking about Peter going with the gospel of the circumcision. Now, everyone Jews and Gentile alike must come by Paul's gospel of Christ. However, no, that gospel in acts 8 is not mentioning Christ's atonement for our sins as far as I see. I apologize for the long response, but I like to be thorough and enjoy talking about the bible.
Acts 8 goes on where the Ethiopian eunich comes around. He was also preached that Christ was lead as a sheep to the slaughter and Phillip preached to him other things regarding Jesus(resurrection, diety, etc. likely).
The issue is if you read from modern bibles, which are actually perversions, verse 38 is removed. That is a whole other study, but you will have to trust me for the moment and study why that is yourself; I'd be happy to answer your questions too, but there's only so much I can convey through yt comments. That verse is integral because it shows the necessity for belief before being baptized. This is why I recommend only reading from the King James bible. In actuality, that is the only bible anyway, but a lot of people are mislead by modern versions like the ESV, NIV,, and so forth.
Regarding John 8. The same concept applies. They did not have the same gospel in 1 cor 15. That is just common sense because Jesus had not even died and resurrected yet. They were effectively believing in Christ's nature as God.
It was still faith alone -- verses in John 6 show eloquently that is the only thing necessary for eternal life. I have heard people say John 3:36 is the gospel. While John 3 is an excellent text and beautifully tells us about God sending his only begotten Son to die for us, that is not exactly the gospel for today. Notice how John 3:16 or 36 don't mention the resurrection or dying for our sins. 1 cor 15 actually is all about how believing in an un resurrected Christ is to believe in vain and actually means you are unsaved. John contains excellent proof texts we can now retroactively look at and show salvation is only by faith, with no other conditions, but it is not the exact thing we have to put our faith in today, the blood of Jesus.
Regarding Jesus being the I am. He is. I think that is kind of woven into the gospel in 1 cor 15, because if Jesus was not God then his sacrifice would not be sufficient to pay for the sins of all of mankind. You kind of have to believe Jesus is God manifest in the flesh, the Word made flesh as John 1 notes. Otherwise, you are believing in a different person, a different Jesus that died for your sins. It is like saying Joe across the street died for your sins. That means nothing.
You have to believe Jesus is God who died for the sins of mankind and rose again according to the scriptures. Notice how the gospel says "according to the scriptures". This implies the person has some foreknowledge or basis in the scriptures that testify of Christ's deity
