@@jhvdwalt2874or you meant she wrote relatable lyrics. Her songs, rhyme, instrumental playing and singing abilities are kinda of mediocre. But her lyrics are relatable to the average teenager. Relatability and generic sounds and theme sells more than uniqueness and experimental talents.
I would say she is a genius at marketing and targeting what young girls want.
The fact that Picture To Burn was sung and written by her when she was still a teen makes her even more amazing and special.

Check out the TV special she did with Def Leppard in 2008. (My god, she did a concert with Def Leppard when she was 18.) You quickly realize that both “Picture to Burn” and “Should’ve Said No” were in spirit ‘80s glam rock songs to begin with, she just barely disguised them with some production for country radio. The Leppard guys’ background vocals and guitar tricks, plus a bit of lead singing here and there by Joe Elliott, blended into the songs seamlessly.
Goosebumps watching this! Lauren was so right - if we watched that interview in 2005 and listened quickly to the songs, we'd think that's pretty and obviously talented. We'll wonder if she'd make it. And now, almost 20 years later, she not only made it - she's dominating the world 💜
This actually makes me tear up a little bit because im her age and remember hearing White Horse, Fifteen, and of course Love Story for the first time and she so perfectly captured moments ive been through and she continues to do ao 20 years later.

I remember when Tear Drops on My Guitar came out. Lived in a small town in Louisiana in high school. I didn’t listen to much country, but most of my friends and school mates did. One told me she was a force to watch, staying she would steal all the hearts. I joked with my friend years later because she had no idea she’d be as massive.

I got to know Taylor Swift's music through my SPED bus driving job in MA. I asked two teenage girl clients what kind of music they liked and both said, "Country." I went and purchased Taylor's first four records on cd and played them on the bus's cd player during Country music station commercial breaks. Then I would eventually listen to them on my own time. She is a great songwriter, singer and performer. She recently played three consecutive shows at Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA.

I still remember hearing her song 'Tim McGraw' on the radio and although I sorta liked it at the time...didn't think much of it. Sounded a little thin and wispy to my ears.
Then I saw the video for the song on CMT. She was still relatively unknown at the time.
Something clicked. I knew there was something unique and very special in the whole package deal. The voice, the wispy sound...and the visual. Knew right away she'd be something big in the industry someday.
And have watched her career skyrocket ever since.
