You were correct Elevate MT would perform better on Off-roading & Hills. Otherwise CVT overall is very good for everyday City Commuting. And City CVT is a Globally proven Honda product. Present ELEVATE 1.5 iVtec would be A killer if offered with front Ventilated & electrically operated Seats, 360° Camera & front Sensor.
I took test drive of this car. Even on flat road if you try to overtake other vehicle, it starts making noise. Its irritating and force driver to rethink on acceleration. Its seems engine is not driving the car but rather dragging it. Thanks Daksh for this unbiased review.
Navneet ji , I own a city cvt and to your point on shor machana you are right but there is a way of getting an immediate acceleration- you use the paddle shifter to downshift right when you put it on sports and it will surge. Also you can drop two gears while on D mode. This is an engine that can rev until 6.5-7k and it won’t complain at all. This is not to say it is better than other turbo engines but to explain how it can be used optimally. Thank you for the review

@@aravindmnair_ these are crossovers at best. Unless it's a 4wd it's not a suv. However these offer a good mix of comfort and a suv feel. It should be able to handle rough terrain but a pure offroading ability - no in my view
How is the ride comfort , suspension and body jerks in rear seats when driven on uneven bad roads? I have jazz , but car jerks too much in bad uneven roads at normal speeds. Im overall very satisfied with the car but thinking if I need to switch to city or elevate or more comfort suspension.
Jazz suspension is stiff, that is not necessarily a bad thing. It's handling is exceptional, you can go around corners above 100kmph. Watch the moose test video with jazz. It is as good as Porsche 911 in that, it is really impressive considering 1 is a sports car and 1 is a family hatchback. Honda never got the credit it deserved. Nobody appreciated the jazz and it got discontinued. In terms of comfort, you will definitely find better comfort in both jazz and city. But you will have to get used to the body roll on the elevate.

This is the vtech noise and i love it. You will get the same noise in MT as well. I have honda amaze MT and the noise is same at 4-5 rpm with lowers shifts. Go for elevate if features are not a concern.

You can't compare NA with turbo engine. I know price point they can lie in the same segment. Honda is reliable. Skoda/Vw is performance oriented. But I-VTEC is the best 1.5 NA engine you can buy right now apart from toyota hycross 2.0 that too without hybrid. But that segment is totally different. Nowadays manufacturers are focusing more on turbo engines because they have great performance. But that adds an enormous amount of maintenance plus less mileage. Na engines are very very reliable you can service them at 15k instead of 10k they will not seize whereas in turbo the max limit will be 11.5-12k and their life expectancy is short.😅
Elevate is a great car. 1.5 is tuned slightly differently than honda city. It ticks most boxes right and long-term it's the best bet in terms of mechanicals and reliability with a proper SUV feel and good ground clearance.
And which reliable SUV would you suggest around 20-22lakhs for this kind of hilly roads and terrains for 4/5people with full load, A/C On with good ground clearence ..Expecting decent mileage in city aswell..!

Hilly areas me tabhi to sabhi manual lete hai. Gear change apne hath me. to engine rev plus sound apke hath pe hota hai. I think this engine has enough power to be driven daily in hilly areas with ease.

Today i drove my slavia 1.5 dsg from dehradun to noida 265 km with 20 kmpl mileage.. i can also show screenshots.. tank to tank was surprisingly 20.5 kmpl.. more then mid.. kausaq has same engine.. i did constant overtakes and many times ran car at 110-120 kmph.. and control is really good.. i think elevate can give max mileage of around 16 in automatic.. i saw videos online people showing mileage of around 14.. should improve with time.. but don't know.. as company claims at 16.. elevate ground clearance is 220mm so maybe if you do lots of offroading then it is good.. i never do so much so went for slavia.. still it's ground clearance is equalvalent to innova or jeep compass.. so it's good.. but city mileage is poor bumper to bumper traffic you can get 6-7.. in noida i get around 11-12 on average in city traffic as roads are good.. i think in winters without ac it should give more..

I suggest you should perform these kind of tests with seltos also. Mileage run on highway and hill run will be highly appreciated by people.

You can easily go for kushaq or taigun 1.0. It’s better than elevate anyday both in safety as wellas driveability.

Today i drove my slavia 1.5 dsg from dehradun to noida 265 km with 20 kmpl mileage.. i can also show screenshots.. tank to tank was surprisingly 20.5 kmpl.. more then mid.. kausaq has same engine.. i did constant overtakes and many times ran car at 110-120 kmph.. and control is really good.. i think elevate can give max mileage of around 16 in automatic.. i saw videos online people showing mileage of around 14.. should improve with time.. but don't know.. as company claims at 16.. elevate ground clearance is 220mm so maybe if you do lots of offroading then it is good.. i never do so much so went for slavia.. still it's ground clearance is equalvalent to innova or jeep compass.. so it's good.. but city mileage is poor bumper to bumper traffic you can get 6-7.. in noida i get around 11-12 on average in city traffic as roads are good.. i think in winters without ac it should give more..

Feels like Honda made a mistake with 1.5L engine. This deserves a 2 L engine. Honda should consider India landscape while designing SUV, honda city is good enough for city driving, Elevate needs more power 💥
