I'm so excited to share the next chapter in our DIY bathroom renovation! We've come so far and the before and after is truly magical. We have a few more projects to tackle in this space before it's finished like custom wall cabinet doors and at some point retiling the shower. What should we do for the art in this space? 🤔

As a former art student and current interior decor aficionado I definitely have ideas on this subject! Since the wallpaper is very detailed but otherwise neutral and monochrome, I think that you're free to pick art in any color combinations that appeal to you since the black in the pattern will go with anything. However, the detail on the walls will be more challenging to work with since two busy designs on top of each other could become visually confusing really quick. I would suggest then that you look for art that incorporates a lot of blank space in a solid neutral color, like a framed sketch. A simple drawing will likely have a lot of empty spaces in it that will give the eye a break from the detail of the wall, while still being distinct enough to pop. If you'd prefer something more colorful or more intricate, then definitely use art with a wide mat surrounding it to provide that same visual break. Also, I imagine that the rules for pattern mixing would also apply in the context of picking art for patterned wall, so since the jungle scenes are sort of medium sized, I would guess that imagery of much larger or smaller scales would harmonize best. If a drawing sounds good to you then I would search for those made with charcoal, pastel, or conte crayon since those mediums create bolder lines that are more legible. I'd stay away from pencil or pen since those lines could be too delicate to hold their own against the strength of the wallpaper. Well, I believe that I've ranted enough already, so I'll just say how excited I am to see this room take shape!

Wow, nice work! I detest drywall dust, so I may check out that product...although "See Jane Drill" here on RUclips shows a very nice way to get a smooth finish without sanding (worth watching!). I also have textured walls, and drywall fixes are in my future. I hope my results will look as good as yours!
