Why do I feel like in the beginning when he said, “stop bullying me, that’s not allowed anymore” it just made me feel of Shane constantly bringing him down when they were friends. When I watched Shane I’d always be excited when Garrett was involved because he was so funny but I never really understood how mean Shane was until I got older and was watching clips of their videos together and just cried. Tbh I only watched Shane for the conspiracy videos and wasn’t really a fan, I just liked the stories. Kinda offtrack there, but also the stock image of the girl in this video reminds me of Shane too, didn’t make me smile or say nice :(

The older I become the more I realize that garret and andrew were the biggest reasons why I watched shanes Videos because I always hoped garrett and andrew would be in it as well. While I think I loved shanes character that he tried to portray, I truly can say that I love garrett as a person and always am so happy when I see he is doing well and still is silly, quirky and full of life. It's the same stuff that Shane has talked and apologized about in the past when his youtube personality was trashier. So why is it popular to hate now? Well one youtuber decided to superclip all the problematic stuff Shane has done (stuff most people knew and was publicly available) and took other things he did really literally, like edgy humor he had back then-- to mean he wanted to do that stuff for real or something, and suddenly its popular to hate Shane even though none of the stuff he did was ever hidden from anyone, but I mean, let another youtuber tell you what to think in a series of dramatic clips out of context and now Shane is 'evil' forever. It's messed up and scary how easy people are to manipulate but it makes sense because right wingers do it too. Despite the fact Shane has been online 20 years and done more good than bad, all you need is one biased video cutting all the bad together and everyone is like he is the worst human to ever live. i feel like garrett truly doesn’t understand the fan base he has, and how much he means to so many people. he’s like a comfort character, but he’s real lol. he’s gotten me through so many tough times, and everyday i strive to achieve his level of creativity, kindness, and humor. one day i hope i can make people happy with my youtube videos as much as he makes me :)

Amidst all of the Shane drama happening lately, it just goes to show that being yourself always pays off. Your life might look put together and glamorous for the time being, but the truth always prevails. And the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Funny thing is I always compared that phrase to the ego rather than the material and the status aspect of a persons life, but it goes hand in hand. Always be humble, and always be you.
