Spencer, you don't need to tap with two fingers to make Olimar jump, you just need to quickly flick the stylus (or finger) across the screen to make him jump.

nintendo land fact: in pikmin adventure, you can shake the controller to ignore olimar's call
That can be annoying when playing with multiple Pikmin since one person ignoring the call will cause everyone to ignore it.
