Call of Duty has (for the most part) released a new game containing new maps every year since 2003 - that's 20 games if you're counting. That's a lot of different and distinct maps. However, let's be realistic. There's only so many different variations of a 3 lane (or more) map that you can make, especially that play well - it isn't infinite. Given that season 5 is the last season of this game's life cycle, why would Sledgehammer waste resources of creating new maps for game that is about to die?

Very happy about Cyber Attack returnining! I think it’s better than SnD because both teams are able to plant and defuse the bomb, no passive play needed. Also teamwork can be important with reviving teammates. Great game mode!

I don't know if that rumor is true, but I can totally see Activision telling Sledgehammer "hey you're making Infinity Ward and Treyarch look bad with all of this post-launch content" and forcing them to give Treyarch a couple of maps for BO6. SHG has always been the mistreated stepchild of the family, and it's sad to see. I enjoy their games WAY more than IW's, that's for sure.

I swapped to Cyberattack and played MW2019 till MW2022 came out, it was such a shame to lose both Knockout and Cyberattack in MW2023. I just loved how they play compared to SnD, glad to see it returning after so long, see you all in the lobbies.
I’m actually excited for this update more than most due to the bow and spear. I enjoy quirky weapons that spice up the gameplay as opposed to the boring Static HV and STG that I haven’t even leveled up
Much love to SHG Despite always being handed the worst hand by ATVI they still manage to make the most engaging seasonal content and even when they can’t deliver maps wise they still manage to make a season have it’s own unique identity. Can’t wait for Season 6 to see how they finish things up.
Facts. MWIII has a lot to do now and it always kept constantly evolving with the new seasonal content before, which is why I'm not all that upset about what we're getting going forward. They had a great run with this game despite them having the least amount of time to work on it.
100% agreed. Sledgehammer's post-launch efforts on WW2 are why it's my favorite CoD game since BO2, and they've somehow managed to work similar magic with MW3 this year. Vanguard was too far gone to be saved, but I still enjoyed that far more than either of Infinity Ward's last two games.

Others complaining probably just have a bad internet provider and don’t realize. Matchmaking isn’t broken, you just don’t like it (I don’t either but it’s not changing). Weapon balancing and attachments could use some work I agree, but there’s so many weapons at this point and plenty that are meta that it almost doesn’t matter anymore since there is so much to choose from. I’m just glad that there are multiple useable weapons, probably more than most CoD games honestly. Not enough people play ground war or was for them to make content for it unfortunately. You can’t ever fully fix cheaters. Blame the player base for that, not the developers. Zombies is working as intended as well, it’s just really boring since it’s the same thing every time and really easy. So again, it’s not broken, you just don’t like it.

Honestly I'm really looking forward to the new weapons. I always like these unique weapons more than guns. In this game, pretty much every role guns can possibly have, are already there, so I like that they add special weapons.
Honestly, I don’t have any intentions of the mid-season update. There’s just a Torque 35 bow that I don’t plan on getting and no actual gun like it was in the previous four seasons of MWIII. All that’s left is to wait for what season 6 has to offer, but the BO6 beta is what I look forward to most likely.
I'm personally in that lull period where I just wanna play the new game already, but am forced to wait months for it anyway. Doesn't help that it releases on 25th of October so we don't even get a cool Halloween event

The main Sledgehammer team have long left to make their next cod game and left the game to the crayon eating unwanted step child of a studio that is Raven software who have the game design mentality of "that sounds fun, put it in" with no consideration for the art style or identity of the game. Raven is actually such an insufferable studio in this aspect they sabotaged the cod game that was supposed to be cod 2020, co developed with Sledge the project colapsed and Treyarch was tasked to turn it into Blops Cold War.

PSA cel shading is LITERALLY just a filter effect that takes 30 seconds to apply to a map.

tbh tho, multi is in a much healthier place compared to what it was like just at the start of this year (sad that we have to consider this but this is the landscape in the video games industry nowadays). I really hate how CoD just keeps churning out new games each year cuz if MWIII ('23) was a DLC for MWII ('22) man that would have been one of the biggest big D moves from Activision and co. For the gamers I think a new strat is in order but why change if they are making record gains year over year?

I am already concerned that BO6 is going to look and feel more like mwIII (and by extension MWII) than a wholly new experience, so the idea of holding over maps concerns me. A big appeal of Black Ops 6 is Treyarch's map design and a new art style. I dont want another year of this tweaked and tuned mwii....
