When the Khruschevite revisionists liberalised the Soviet Union and forced their style of false-socialism onto the rest of the Eastern Bloc, the Soviet Union ceased being the bastion of freedom, democracy, and reason in the world, and no matter how hard they tried, they were unable to corrupt the PPSH and Albania under the leadership of Enver Hoxha. The Khruschevites were unable to snuff out freedom, democracy, and socialism in Albania.

Clearly, you spent no time at all in Hoxha's and Shehu's 'People's Albania'. Used as I was to living in Eastern Europe (including 6 years in Soviet Russia), nothing could have prepared me for Albania. It was a hell-hole - the most oppressive country I ever was in. The fear was palpable and etched into all faces. The shops were all but empty, and those consumer goods that were available were unbelievably shoddy and very badly made. Latterly, people were queuing for bread and milk at 3 a.m. Misery everywhere - and an atmosphere of general paranoia and mind-stultifying tedium. The People were nourished by empty slogans only and kept strictly in line by the ubiquitous and far from secret police. What a truly ghastly place it was. It was always 1937 in Hoxha's Albania. For heaven's sake take off the rose-coloured glasses and stop playing the useful idiot.

All that Democracy talk in the description makes me cringe on an immeasurable level, Hoxha's Albania was a Totalitarian Dictatorship, but thats BASED.
Many pseudo-communists and western leftists, say that Marxist-Leninist states was a “democracy”, which is NOT the case. They were 100% one-party Authoritarian police state, aka a Dictatorship, sure some softer than others, but still Dictatorships regardless. But they act like that dictatorship is a bad thing, which is not, as long its a Proletarian Dictatorship and the right Person rules with an iron fist.
