- The house siren mounted on the roof of the Yorkville Hose and Fire Company's 1907 building is an iconic sight in the Yorkville section of Pottsville and an instantly recognizable sound throughout the area. From the Yorkville Hose Company film archive comes this great 8mm footage of the original yellow rotating civil defense siren being installed in 1965.
And the best part about this is, this siren is STILL IN SERVICE to this day! Bye bye darley champion, hello new mobile directo!
But it was replaced by a swapped horn Mobil directo ruclips.net/video/aG3vFPgubGI/видео.html
@@federalsignalhpss1677 No, that is the same siren, it was refurbished in 1992 and a Allertor horn was put on.
This is the most rare sight to see. A very old siren replacement video
Wait, this is the one that is rotating 8-13 RPM!
Nerf Rhett yup
Holy shit, I don’t even remember making this comment. :P
@@NerfRhett more like 100 RPM
Whoa! So that's how sirens get replaced! 😮
Not really…..
They only did that because the darley didn’t work anymore
This is the very fast, and last remaning 10/12 port mobil directo!
It is not the last 10/12 directo.
Really?
@@borkluchtalarm yes
@@borkluchtalarm there is a 10/12 port Mobil directo in Palatko, Florida that is sounded off in request
It’s not used
There is another one unless that one in Florida is the one I’m thinking of
Is there any audio of the old chamion siren? I would like to hear it if it was 8 or 12 port.
Been spinning for almost 60 years
Wow!
I bet if you could do some math we could figure out how many revolutions it has made

Me and mike have recently talked and he said he is editing a video of this very mobil directo sounding it’s lag test before restoration in 1997. He also has pictures (which will be in that video) during restoration. At a point there’s a picture of in how bad shape the original housing was.
Never saw the video
@@TheJakeman789 Ok and wanna cookie nobody asked??
Idk if you'll ever see this, but are you are gonna share the video?
@@christianhansen6101 actually he did ask, he said where is the video. Give yourself a cookie
@@christianhansen6101haha
So this was originally Yellow when was it painted a dark color and would this be replaced with a ASC T-128 once the motor burns out and parts can't be find for it
You know, it now spins faster than satan itself..
What happened to the Darley and is it still around or was it scrapped?
It’s sadly gone.
It's scrapped.
scrapping rare sirens make me go RREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Stopped working which is why it’s sadly gone

Mr.Someone \Tom/ its an ACA Allerter 125 Running on a B&N mobile directo system

@@kansasstatealerting2874he means it a aca allertor chassis on a b&n mobile directo
Dose anyone know where to find the music that was playing when they were installing the new siren? My family has a disk full of Super 8 film from 1969 to 1980 and it has that music and I've been desperately looking for the music
Contact mike. He found it in some files on his laptop and the first music was on its original video.

Make America great again
Goodbye rarely champion
But the Mobil Directos are even rarer
@@brodiessirenproductions i think he meant to say "darley"
Anyone know where he got the music?
Music from when mike found the video in his old files.
Great video👍
Goodbye, semi-rare siren. Replaced by an even rarer siren.
That semi-rare siren would be a Vertical Darley Champion
For anyone interested, it's an ACA Allertor 125.
+Crestview Enterprises No, it's a B&N Mobil Directo
+Spencer Harman oh, it's hard to tell. gas powered?
Nope, electric. If it's dual tone, electric. But if it's single tone, gas. Many gas powered Mobil Directo engines were switched out with motots like on the dual tone models.
+Spencer Harman How the heck can you tell the difference?
Crestview Enterprises What difference are you referring to?
Bye darley Hello Directo😎👍🏾
We're did the red siren go
Is the old siren a champion?
that's a Mobil directo
Farewell, champion…
… *LET THE TOILET SPEEN BEGIN- (ki-blasted)*
I wonder what the Darley would’ve sounded like
Look it up
put a link of this on the siren forums
Creeperboy it is I saw it like an hour ago
Mike isn’t even a siren RUclipsr.
Where is the Darley champion now?
Probably scraped and long gone
Why music?
Is this siren still being used?
+PGMEagle The same style siren is still in use today.
