@@Omn1Media without a doubt never EVER trust a serial killer, their wer'e right and I wouldn't listen both alastor and Valentino are BAD, after what I saw alastor treated husk, I've really going to use my Kryptonian known as Superman's DNA and use laser eye vision and smash alastor with a heavy TANK and I'll crush and SQUASH IT, no one messes with my favorite catmen of all time no one, furthermore everything what vaggie said about alastor it's TRUTH, I'll listen to anyone who is right about alstor's EVIL SCHEME no matter what happens, I've almost forgot alastor's TYRANNICAL, he cannot be redeemed someone should be doing something to free both husk and angel dust from this TYRANNICAL pure evil over lord's Valentino and alastor, angel and husk should be free and get what is theirs, someday.😡🤬👿
I think that's also one of the reasons why Alastor got so pressed, it's because Alastor can't do anything against the king of hell, I mean his eye was twitching when Lucifer showed up.
He'd still win but I doubt it'd be that simple. Alastor having a "leash" leads me to believe he's backed by either one of the other seraphim or some other ancient evil.
Yeah, it's the opposite of how he treats other people. It's subtle, but he doesn't snap or even swear until Lucifer showed up. As for Lucifer, he seems to be like Charlie where he doesn't really take the "King of Hell" title too seriously. He doesn't deny it either. He treats it more like, "I'm just a depressed guy who happens to be King of Hell."
Tbh, it feels like how Alastor shows his panic, he's cool and smiley when he's got the upper hand, but the manner is gone once he realizes he might be looked down/endangered
As other have said it might just be how Alastor shows panic. But it xould also be that Al has some kind of deal with Lillith. It would make sense, they've both been gone 7 years, Alastor is far more invested in the hotel than he lets on. And as Husk stated, he's on someone else's leash.
I think the Dad thing from Alastor is just him hitting Lucifer where it hurts most. He clearly wants to do some damage to him. Him also "being on a leash" could mean that Lilith has his soul and forcing him to help Charlie. Would explain why he hates her and her husband.
@KyrieChii It's more the idea that both Lilith and Alastor were both gone for 7 years, then out of the blue he shows up and the first thing he does is help Charlie. Seems a lil sus and with the way he acts towards Lucifer cements the idea he dislikes him.
@@KyrieChii Well he really doesn't like being reminded he is also on a leash to the point he is gonna torture Husk over it so he probably isn't that fond of the leash's holder. If we assume it's Lilith then it would make more sense why he keeps making digs at Lucifer because according to some of the background info Lucifer and Lilith are still suppose to be in love with each other.
Alastor uses veves, voodoo symbols meant to invoke the power of higher beings. And that means HIS power has to come from a higher being. What if he worshipped Lilith in life, drawing power from her, and once he landed in Hell she was like “cool, now YOU gotta do something for ME” and this is just his life now
My personal theory is that when Alastor first manifested, he immediately struck a deal with Lilith. She gave him the ultimate power to topple and eradicate the strongest Overlords of Hell, but he is ultimately bound to her will the same way Husk is bound to Alastor. When Lilith left 7 years ago, she took Alastor with her. You notice how in the Pilot, Charlie calls Lilith and explains how she’s not doing great, only for Alastor to show up mere moments later? Alastor is chained to the will of Lilith, and Lilith’s will is to protect Charlie and do whatever possible to see her dream become a reality. Also explains why Alastor gets so irritated when Lucifer steps in to help, he was given the task of helping Charlie succeed, and his ego would not let anyone else take over that job.
Thats been my theory too, it explains why he hasn't really kicked up a fuss whenever something is asked of him. Or like when Vaggie asks him to try and get rid of the egg bois, he's excited to hunt them for sport but immediately backs down when Vaggie clarifies he has to do it humanily. He doesn't even attempt to do it in secret. Its suspicious how accommodating he's being to all of Charile and Vaggie's requests. He even engaged with TV and video because they asked in the first episode, the way he put it and his tone of voice suggests to me that he couldn't deny the request, so instead he constructs a situation where he can get Vaggie to agree to never ask this of him again.
I think this has a lot of weight to it. In the pilot episode, If I remember correctly, Al said he saw the broadcast Charlie made for the hotel on TV. However we know how he feels about Television, so why would he be watching it? Could be just strolling by and seeing a bit of what happened on some random TV he came across, but idk. To me it seems he wouldnt bother watching anything that would happen on TV, so maybe it was just the excuse for how he found out? Maybe so none of them questioned why he is actually there, because Lilith sent him.
@@TheAbominableDrFaustus Satan and Lucifer are completely different characters in hellaverse. satan represents and rules over the wrath ring, while Lucifer is exactly how you see in this episode.
@@CaptainCFalcon they are in biblical myth too its only really a modern thing that portrays them as the same being kinds like how Hades is a devil analogue even though a better analogue would be Death, still inaccurate but less insultingly wrong
@Kaution2004 He's definitely shown he has an inferiority complex, that's for sure. Him, a sinner, compared to two of the strongest people in Hell? I'd feel inadequate around them too.
I love the fact that Alistor just completely bullshit the whole part about seeing Charlie as a daughter purely to get under Lucifer's skin lmao (you can tell from his face it's just to mess with him)
While he definitely did it to get under Lucifer's skin... I also think Alastor is actively trying to get as much on Charlie's good side and earn her trust as much as possible, not because he actually cares but because if he can be trusted enough (Charlie actively stood up for him while he was gobbling up loan sharks) he can eventually potentially offer up his services to her under more 'official' terms. And given episode 6 introduced a very likely massive moral-event horizon for Charlie, I'm willing to bet Alastor tries to use this moment to further ingratiate himself to Charlie at Vaggie's expense. My whole hypothesis is based on Alastor very much _not_ being a good person of course, so if instead Vivzie decides to actually make Alastor a secret sweetie then this whole idea is totally bulldozed. But I don't think that's the direction they're taking this character because it both wouldn't be all that interesting and also most Alastor fans love him _because_ he's amusingly evil
@@DelightfullyMADD I agree completely with this take. It also just feels more true to his character in my opinion than people thinking he now randomly views Charlie as a daughter when all he's been shown to care about so far is his own self interest.
A random food for thought that struck me is that maybe he is trying to escape the leash by getting good with Charlie (Perhaps to a point where Alastor can make a deal for his soul that will free him from whoever owns him) Everyone keeps theorizing that Lilith is the one that owns his soul and while that seems to be the case...what if he doesn't like to be in her leash? Everyone seems to say that Alastor and Lilith plan things together but that doesn't sound like Alastor at all he is controlling and manipulating but above all else arrogant beyond belief so him openly working with Lilith willingly doesn't make much sense to me, the show pushes a theme where characters under contract or "leashes" can be forced to do things they don't want so why would that be an exception for Alastor? To me it makes more sense that Lilith forces Alastor to stay at the hotel but he is twisting that order in to his own scheme, Zestial implied that people believed he has fallen to the angels but what if Lilith saved him in exchange for his soul? @@DelightfullyMADD
Alastor strikes me as endgame villain. I'm glad we're finally getting hints of what he's really like, threatening Husk and manipulating Charlie to keep control over her.
@@TheLastHylianTitan Not every dog on a leash is loyal to their master, and Alastor definitely is _not_ the sort to take such bondage lying down. He likely is angling to get close enough/trusted enough by Charlie to strike a deal with her, likely in her darkest moment, because while Alastor is very likely bound to Lilith... what if getting hold of Charlie's soul would give him enough power to break that contract? Alastor is absolutely the sort that would have that kind of plan going, so I do think this could fit the idea of Alastor being an actual end-game villain
@@DelightfullyMADDWell I mean this is hell if someone "owns" you you're safe and kinda f*cked at the same time. If some theory was right that he made a deal with Lilith, well you can't just disobey the Queen of Hell, whatever that deal is Alastor exists in that hotel
It's been hard to watch the show cuz my mom canceled prime so I've been seeing it through reactions but it feels like Alastor is "attempting" to be a father figure to Charlie just to tick Luci off
@@nylathemysticalcat9518 Alastor really seems to hold some resentment toward Lucifer outside of Charlie. Perhaps he does have some sort of (non-romantic, as he is AroAce) relationship with Lilith.
Yup, she called her mom and momma bear sent one of the most powerful beings to ever walk through Hell because her baby needed someone to not only protect her but make sure she opened everyone’s eyes, even Lucifer’s. Lucifer has not hope or faith left because of his fall, but Charlie has it in abundance and Lilith won’t let that be destroyed. Alastor also did the ultimate form of therapy on Lucifer by making him jealous 😂
@@WulfysGamingTidbits uh.. sorry to disappoint but Alastor is NOT one of the most powerful beings to walk through hell. The Goisha Family, the sevens deadly sins, Even charlie herself and Lucifer are way more powerful than him.
I love how they made Lucifer a caring father with low self esteem and depression. Getting kicked out of heaven traumatized him and he doesn't want Charlie to go through the same thing.❤ ❤❤❤
That's exactly what it is. Lucifer is seeing his daughter pick up on his failed dreams, and he doesn't want her to be crushed at the same way that he was. But he can't actually tell her not to pursue this goal, because that's going to make him look like the bad guy.
Something I thought about was, Alastor is always testing the waters with striking deals with Charlie. It’s possible we could see something horrible happen that forces Charlie to make a deal with him and he uses her as bait/bargaining chip to get out of his deal with Lilith
Lucifer and Charlie's song made me tear up, Lucifer may not have been in Charlie's life for the most part but he's trying his best, from the flashback it seems like Lilith always tried to push Lucifer away from Charlie which is really sad. He's not the perfect dad but he's good enough.
This further adds to my speculation that Lilith may in fact not be much different from Adam in the sense that both he and her could very well be terrible people, just in different ways. Adam is the embodiment of toxic masculinity (brash, domineering, controlling, crude, murderous, boastful) while Lilith is the embodiment of toxic femininity (manipulative, deceitful, self-absorbed, etc). It makes a lot more sense that the two first humans who were both born of the same dust and created as equals would likely both be equals in this too, rather than the 1st man being an utter douche and the 1st woman just wanting to be equal and being wonderful. I don't buy it, and considering just how much Lilith "thrived" in Hell, that further tells me that Lilith may have a lot more darkness in her closet than we're aware of thus far

@@DelightfullyMADD I got that impression of Lilith too from the lyrics and scenes of More Than Anything. Lilith was intentionally keeping Lucifer and Charlie apart. As to why, I'm not sure since we still haven't seen Lilith as of yet.
Seeing Alastor express more than just one emotion is always a interesting sight to see, because he’ll always have that smile on his face but he isn’t always happy and it’s interesting to see how he expresses those other emotions.
Dang never been this early. This episode is so good. I was not expecting Lucifer to be such a great dad, but he is. He loves his daughter so much it brought tears to my eye. I honestly love him.
He cares, but he's not a good dad. A good person does not make someone a good parent. He neglected her and barely knew anything about her. Despite wanting to be close to her, he did not remember what Charlie's plan was. But he is trying and could be a good dad.
@@mariamejawara I disagree, he is a good dad. From what we saw in the flashback during the song it looked like Lilith kept them separated. If Lilith kept them apart it makes sense he doesn’t know her well, and now that Charlie’s all grown up it’s even harder to form that connection with his daughter. It seems like they both had the wrong idea about each other. Charlie thought he didn’t care about her, and he thought she wanted nothing to do with him. It’s a tough situation, but we saw his true colors in the song. He showed us how much he cares about his daughter, and they made it pretty clear that they are repairing their relationship. He isn’t perfect, but he loves her and wants to support her dreams while keeping her safe. That isn’t a bad dad. I know first hand what a bad dad is like, and this isn’t it.
When I heard that Vivziepop imagined Charlie to be like the Disney Princess, my brain was like: Alastor is the Fairy Godmother! That's why he just appeared out of nowhere to lend a hand! 😂
Favorite parts of the video 6:43 - 'My daughter wants to see me! TAKE THAT DEPRESSION!' 8:01 - Alistair swears! 9:38 - 'you could almost call me... Dad...' 😂 15:30 - that smile on lucifers face fell faster than gravity.
Alastor is stated to be completely asexual and aromantic. Keep in mind that he absolutely hates being touched. It's not that Lucifer is short, he's actually quite tall for the average human male. It's Sinner that tend to be pretty tall, Alastor in particular being about 7ft Alastor is fucking with Lucifer purely for the shits and giggles, because Lucifer can effortlessly destroy him since he's the strongest being in Hell
Right. I’m sick and tired of people being like “Alastor really thinks he would win” like no he doesn’t, he’s just taunting him for the fun of it. Seeing this fandom descend into the “WHO WOULD WIN???!!!!” is so annoying lol, because people often degrade other characters who aren’t the most powerful ever. Like Lucifer and Alastor’s rivalry is funny, people gotta stop making it deep. Like you can have debates on the two, let’s all just try not to make it an actually deep discussion
No Lucifer is still short. Charlie is 6 feet tall as is canon and he's considerably shorter than her. I remember someone used Charlie to calculate he's around 5 foot 6 inches, or about the height of an average american woman.
Exactly. He literally predates humanity in the Earth itself, and the only thing he's been exposed to is the worst of the worst that humanity has to offer. And the fact that human souls do keep going to heaven is *undeniable proof* that humanity is _capable_ of doing good, but they still choose to do wrong in such large numbers.
The golden fiddle is SUCH an amazing easter egg. I did not see that until now! Love it and it actually shows the devil (Lucifer) actually won the contest in the Hazbin universe
Viv really said “Y’all wanna cry, y’all want the best jokes, yall want S tier music the best the show has given, y’all want juicy drama well I got it for you”. Alastor and Lucifer’s duet is my favorite song with Lucifier’s and Charlie’s duet being my 2nd favorite it was amazing. Alastor scared me when he threatened husk and it’s a common theory now that Lilith who isn’t married to Lucifer for some reason is the one to control Alastor which makes sense on paper the 2nd strongest being in hell controls a powerful demon like him to help Charlie out (if she did task him to do that since we don’t know why he’s actually here). I wonder what Alastor’s beef with Lucifer was for like the moment Lucifer walked in you can see Alastor’s eye twitching from annoyance. My favorite episode of the season. I love Lucifer sm he’s already a S tier character just off of this episode.
When I watched this episode the second time, I catched that when Alastor was talking to Lucifer and hugging Charlie, he noticed Lucifer’s annoyance and continued. I think he was just messing with him for some reason, but it was definitly out of spite. I don’t know if I’d dare to say he’d be a step-dad… that would be too beautiful for my heart… idky
I don’t think Alastor really cares about Charlie. I think that, from what Husk said, Lilith owns his soul, and he’s on HER “leash”. Alastor entertains himself through watching the failure of others. What better way to do that than attempt to pit the ACTUAL RULER OF HELL against his daughter in a way that can’t be fixed through Lucifer simply snapping Alastor like a twig. I very much doubt he actually gives a shit about any of them. I really love Alstor’s character, because he’s entertaining, but there’s definitely a lot going on with him. We don’t yet know what he wants, but we know he owns Husk, and we know that he has allies. He seems to respect Zestial and Rosie, and is at least acquainted with most of the powerful overlords. And we know he almost beat Vox some time ago. Vaggie mentions that he manifested much quicker than most demons, and gained power VERY quickly, and that no one know WHO gave him that power. SooOoOOOoOo… What if Lilith has something to do with that? We know that she disappeared at the same time as him, and I don’t think that’s going to be a coincidence
A cool detail a few people mentioned is that Lucifer does show a lot of signs of actual depression in the episode He has repetitive behaviors in order to focus on something (like making endless rubber ducks) He disassociate and seems to unfocus completely a few times to a point it looks like he's not interested in what his daughter has to say but the way he looks at her it truly looks like he's trying to pay attention but can't And also shows some suicidal ideation (jokingly dangling from the balcony talking about how easy it would be to just fall off)
I love that line. Take that depression!. Also first time hear ali sware in the show!. Makes it even funnier, I love just after back story is side 18 seconds later you see ali true from!. 😮
It's interesting that Husk said Alastor is on a leash too. This is probably the reason he has such a higher power level than other sinners and overlords. But I'm wondering who it can be. Lilith, Roe (Root of all Evil), it could even be one of the sins, or someone/ something that connects to Alastor's voodoo past/ lore
Can we also appreciate that in their duet, when Lucifer has Al in the skillet, that's the first time we see Alastor's ears go back?! His composure is slipping!
If we pay close attention throughout the season, you can definitely see cracks in Alastor beginning to form in episode 3 when he is evasive from Zestial's questions, and shows noticeable annoyance when Carmilla Carmine refuses to let him create some mystery around his seven year absence. I think it's very clear that Alastor likes being the center of attention, but, the moment Lucifer walked into the room, nobody was looking at him anymore.
Right?! Maybe he lost a bet or a gamble! Lilith commanding Alastor to keep a eye on Charlie, and maybe even have him push Lucifer away from her. @_-.cosmo.-_
The whole Alastor on a leash thing is something I thought about since episode 1. it could be Lilith but I’m actually not quite sure. It could also be that he sold his soul way back (maybe even when he was alive) to get his power in the first place.
The fact, that Alastor got agitated by Lucifer so quickly and severely that he not just swore but went straight for the f-word is just... wow. This episode might very well be my favorite so far. Juicy as hell (pun fully intended).
Finally! Someone mentioned The Devil’s Fiddle! It’s like no one knows what that’s referencing. During my first watch I was already freaking out with the ‘dad’s fighting’ but the fiddle part instantly made it better!
If I may give my 2 cents. Overlords like Alastor have 1 rule that is common among them all. Never to step on another overlords turf without their permission. When those sharks attacked the hotel, they attacked Alastors turf. So Alastor dealt with them accordingly.
I'm calling it... lillith is controlling alastor. She is who has him on a leash as husk said. The same 7 years. The reason he's helping Charlie and acting like a father figure. The reason he looked at the family photo in the pilot. Can't think of anyone else who could be controlling him. Lillith controlling him to replace the other dad she split from. Hence why alastor really wants control as lucifer is what lillith wants away from Charlie
As amazing as the Lucifer and Alistor song was. Lucifer's "Take THAT depression!" hit my heart so hard Dx... I laughed and then sighed lol. But back tot he song, he very much gave up a similar vibe to me with the song as Genie from Aladin. That same kind of energy you know? Like a darker version of Friend Like Me.
I am so glad I am not the onle one that cried at the second song. I cannot believe how heart felt and beautiful the lyrics and melody are. And the animation too! Probably the most moving song out of all, even tho I might have some others I still considering my favorites over it :p
😊 im so excited! I think i know everything! Husk mentioned: "You've been gone for a while and i don't think anyone knows why. Big talk for someone who's also on a leash ") Which is probably alastor! Lilith was gone for 7 years Alastor also for 7 I think we kniw where this is going. Since alastor showed signs that he doesn't belive in the redemption idea. I think lilith somehow owns alastor's soul , and when she heard about the idea of his daughter, she threw him over from the missing to the hotel, to help her daughter through alastor, especially when husk mentions that he is also on a leash, he became instantly angry as f*ck , and he was stressed when zestial asked about his missing. After all, i belive he is somehow connected with Lilith
Just so you know, at the very least it's not a step-dad/romance situation because Alistor has been confirmed as aroace since the pilot and Vivzie has kept that sexuality for him and said he's not interested in relationships. I think what's most likely happened is that Lilith has Alistor's soul and the deal is that he's meant to help Charlie (which is why they were gone for the same number of years and he randomly showed up) but we don't know how that happened yet. He's most likely being an ass to Lucifer partly in case he interferes and also he's probably bitter over his deal with Lilith so he's taking it out on Lucifer since he can't do it to Charlie.
Why would the step-dad thing imply romance? I wasn't talking about anything romantic regarding the two. Edit: OH right, Lilith...I'm dumb. It's late and I'm still editing Episode 6 LMAO
@@Omn1Media It's fine, I suppose I worded it weird since I meant step-dad to Charlie/romance with Lilith ^^; I basically just meant that it seems more implied that Lilith has his soul (he also shrivels up a bit when Zestial mentions he thought he fell to "holy arms" in ep 4 so he might have almost died to angels and she saved him so now he's bound to her and it's led to him looking after her daughter). Could be that he doesn't like the idea of Lucifer taking over any plans he has since it's probably the one thing he has control over right now. I think he just knew how to get under his skin so that's why you can tell in the song he's trying to wind him up by making it look like him and Charlie have a closer bond (also means Lucifer can't do anything to him because it would now upset Charlie, so he's very cleverly given himself a shield now)
Nah the " leash" part was basically husker saying charlie owns him because charlie as per the pilot said " as princess of hell i command you to help me with the hotel" husker was only talking about that how alastor is WORKING UNDER charlie which he corrects him very soon , alastor seems to be easily the most cunning character we have seen in the verse , no wayy he lost his soul morelike he's in an alliance with lilith at the very best to usurp more power
@@babyblue1443 His eyes turn black though when he's in power which is confirmed by the creator to reveal when a character has sold their soul/will away to someone (Angel only has 1 black eye because his deal with Valentino is only in the studio so he's still partly free). Charlie said that to Alastor but that doesn't mean he has to actually obey her because he's not actually being forced against his will (he clearly doesn't even care what the ruler of hell thinks as we can see from this episode). That comment from Husk would not be treated so significant or rile him up that much if it wasn't a sore subject for him, so it has to be something important. What you said about him and Lilith can still be true while also making it that he's been bound in a way that shows he can't betray her trust. He's cunning, but he's not immune to circumstance and Zestiel made a comment in ep4 that clearly affected him too when he implied he came into danger with angels and he thought he died from it which implies there's some level of truth there.
@@babyblue1443 You forgot the last and very important part of that quote "for as long as you desire". Even if the command Charlie gave to Alastor was actually binding (no indications it was), Charlie left a loophole for him to get out of it you could drive an entire universe through. If that's the deal Alastor is under with Charlie, it's broken as easily as Alastor just saying 'eh I don't wanna be here any more. Toodle-o chums~"
Honestly, with the way the show's been delving into characters and giving them depth, I think Alastor being Charlie's stepdad and genuinely wanting to help is the kind of twist that would actually be quite on-brand.
Fun fact: Lucifer is actually voiced by Winn from Supergirl! (and a lot of other things that I don't think you've watched...Newsies, Tangled the Series, etc)
I don’t know about you, but after the episode I remembered the theory of one person back in the days of the pilot that Alastor depends on voodoo (all his magic most likely comes from them, since every time he uses the power, Voodoo symbols fly around him) and what he most likely made a deal by promising to show their power to all hell or something like that i don't remember much.
One thing about Husker's pact is that since alastor is a cannibal, he could be like, "You're not useful anymore" and just eat Husk one day. So yeah a lot scarier
Whoever has Alastor on their leash must be very high in the hierarchy cause Alastor is one of the most powerful overlords. The best I can come up with is Lilith. It would make sense since they've both been missing for 7 years
by the title I was honestly thinking lucifer was dead beat but its so sweet that he's actually trying to bond with Charlie than treat her like shit like people thought he was back in the pilot
The funniest, most wholesome episode 💖 Alastor and Lucifer roasting each other was hilarious, then him teasing Luci for his almost non-existent relationship with Charlie, til Mimsy's dramatic entrance, and finally, that sweet daddy-daughter interaction 💕
The thing that'd hinted at is that lilith might have told both charlie and lucifer that the other doesn't want to see/talk to them. So they both are under the impression the other doesn't care about them. That's why the whole My daughter wants to talk to meee and My dad doesn't want to see me. I assume Lilith might be the biggest villain of the whole show.
Can i just say, thanks for your react vids to this show. Um im glad im not the only one who cries while watching these. 😅 😭😭😭 Ugh the father daughter song really got meh!
This episode is like a guide book to make a Tumblr sexy man. And mind you, I'm talking about Alastor here lol I love the sequence of Alastor's horrific backstory ending in Mimzy going "Underneath all that he's a sweetie. Play Jazz, fill him up and he becomes a kitten" Because that's probably the most effective depiction of the mindset of a Tumblr sexy man I've ever seen. Including a woman being his special person but him sending her away in the end because Tumblr sexy men run on the logic of "the most disturbed, powerful and dangerous twink man in existence, wearing a fancy suit, having a soft spot for me and not that other stupid cow! He's wants to secretly be with me (Alastor choosing the Hotel) and treats me - and ONLY ME - _right_ " lol Alastor's merely the crazy uncle variation of it, I fucking love that 😂
I love how Alastor is trying his best to insult Lucifer as most as he can like calling him short, and saying "f**k you" to him, and telling Charlie that you can call him dad but not actually and just to annoy them.
Just to clarify: There are 8 episodes in season 1. I think the misconception for 10 is that IMDB will tell you 10 episodes for the show, because it includes the 8 episodes of season 1, the pilot, and at least one episode for season 2 since that is already confirmed.
14:30 verbaleses dark backstory 💀 btw if ur wondering why lucifer can’t go to heaven is bc he’s a fallen angel and vaggie was hesitant bc she’s one too

Lucifer is one of the most wholesome characters in this entire show. He’s too friggin goofy. I finally know who Charlie got her personality from
The fact Lucifer can fucking snap alastor like a twig and alastor still acts like he has a chance to win
Has he said (or done) anything to make it seem like he hates Lilith? (Genuinely asking, wondering if I missed something).
@KyrieChii It's more the idea that both Lilith and Alastor were both gone for 7 years, then out of the blue he shows up and the first thing he does is help Charlie. Seems a lil sus and with the way he acts towards Lucifer cements the idea he dislikes him.
When you stop and think about, Lilith is technically an overlord, like she's human and the first person in hell
Interesting theory. I wouldn't be surprised if you were right, that does make sense.
This is like peak theory that I can totally actually see being what's going on!
its a theory but not official there might be even something more going on with lilith and alastor
Sometimes I forget Lucifer was an Angel. He’s uhh, not just the devil. His only sin is prideful
It's actually really interesting that Lucifer & Satan are actually different characters.
@@CaptainCFalconwhat do you mean?
@@TheAbominableDrFaustus Satan and Lucifer are completely different characters in hellaverse.

8:01 Hearing Alastor use profanity is GOLD. That’s how you know he’s really upset because nobody really gets to him.
Vox did in the comics, but that's the only other case.
@@sonofjack6286 Yea but to CURSE tho?🤣
@@Kaution2004 He's normally above swearing, at least anything that isn't PG. It's only when someone REALLY gets under his skin.
@@sonofjack6286 And it took Lucifer to do that, and Vaggie disrespects him all the time🤣
@Kaution2004 He's definitely shown he has an inferiority complex, that's for sure. Him, a sinner, compared to two of the strongest people in Hell? I'd feel inadequate around them too.
I love the fact that Alistor just completely bullshit the whole part about seeing Charlie as a daughter purely to get under Lucifer's skin lmao (you can tell from his face it's just to mess with him)
Its actually alastor 😂
I'm glad we're finally getting hints of what he's really like, threatening Husk and manipulating Charlie to keep control over her.
it true He is villain but I also think he does care about Charlie and the hotel and not manipulating her I ready for the next episode
Is he really endgame? Or is he just on puppet strings taking the fall for some much more powerful behind it all? Remember - he’s “on a leash”.
I kind of like how he still stuck with Charlie and told Mimzy to fuck off
@@DelightfullyMADDWell I mean this is hell if someone "owns" you you're safe and kinda f*cked at the same time. If some theory was right that he made a deal with Lilith, well you can't just disobey the Queen of Hell, whatever that deal is Alastor exists in that hotel

Took me a while to realize the title Dad beat dad is referring to Lucifer and Alastor fighting about being Charlies "father" figure
It's been hard to watch the show cuz my mom canceled prime so I've been seeing it through reactions but it feels like Alastor is "attempting" to be a father figure to Charlie just to tick Luci off
It's also a play on the term deadbeat dad
@@nylathemysticalcat9518 Alastor really seems to hold some resentment toward Lucifer outside of Charlie. Perhaps he does have some sort of (non-romantic, as he is AroAce) relationship with Lilith.
I was thinking how else could that double meaning apply, nice catch!
Oh and fun fact the voice actor of Lucifer aka charlie dad is Jeremy who voice acting varian from Tangled
In the pilot she called her mom and after she hung up Alastor arrived. Coincidence?
I THINK NOT!!
So you saying alastor is lilith?
@@Frankie_and_fwoggieI think Lilith is the one that has alastor on a leash that husk was talking about
Yup, she called her mom and momma bear sent one of the most powerful beings to ever walk through Hell because her baby needed someone to not only protect her but make sure she opened everyone’s eyes, even Lucifer’s.
I kinda think we don't have a stepdaddy situation
I think Lilith owns Alastors soul
Husker said so himself "Im not the only one on a leash"
Agreed, That’s been my take from the beginning and I feel like that moment confirmed it.
roo most likely owns it
Something I thought about was, Alastor is always testing the waters with striking deals with Charlie. It’s possible we could see something horrible happen that forces Charlie to make a deal with him and he uses her as bait/bargaining chip to get out of his deal with Lilith
He's also asexual and probably aromantic, so probably not her side piece.

@@galanga21890 Yeah, Viv said that Charlie is about 6ft, Alastor is about 7ft and Angel is 8-9ft.
When I heard that Vivziepop imagined Charlie to be like the Disney Princess, my brain was like:

15:30 - that smile on lucifers face fell faster than gravity.
Alastor is stated to be completely asexual and aromantic. Keep in mind that he absolutely hates being touched. It's not that Lucifer is short, he's actually quite tall for the average human male. It's Sinner that tend to be pretty tall, Alastor in particular being about 7ft
Alastor is fucking with Lucifer purely for the shits and giggles, because Lucifer can effortlessly destroy him since he's the strongest being in Hell
then you have zestial and... i think its keeri or something... the furry dino overlord who both are like 9 ft plus
Like you can have debates on the two, let’s all just try not to make it an actually deep discussion
and probably because Lilith has alastors soul and he's just taking it out on Lucifer
@@velvettehayes9434this. alastor isn’t dumb. he’s definitely self-assured, but he knows his limits.
No Lucifer is still short. Charlie is 6 feet tall as is canon and he's considerably shorter than her. I remember someone used Charlie to calculate he's around 5 foot 6 inches, or about the height of an average american woman.
Bro has had depression for millennia, and we all have the gall to complain about how we have trouble getting out of bed in the morning.😂
It's interesting to see Alastor showing off in front of Lucifer only to have him not even bat an eye.

With husk mentioning Alastor is also on a leash, maybe Lilith is the one holding the other end.
Alestor is just unapologetically himself and I Love it
When I watched this episode the second time, I catched that when Alastor was talking to Lucifer and hugging Charlie, he noticed Lucifer’s annoyance and continued.
SooOoOOOoOo…
What if Lilith has something to do with that?
We know that she disappeared at the same time as him, and I don’t think that’s going to be a coincidence
yesss im pretty sure Lilith owns alastor! Has to be
A cool detail a few people mentioned is that Lucifer does show a lot of signs of actual depression in the episode
He has repetitive behaviors in order to focus on something (like making endless rubber ducks)
He disassociate and seems to unfocus completely a few times to a point it looks like he's not interested in what his daughter has to say but the way he looks at her it truly looks like he's trying to pay attention but can't
And also shows some suicidal ideation (jokingly dangling from the balcony talking about how easy it would be to just fall off)
Wow, you're right! Poor guy. :(
8:01 Alastor's first cuss word was the most significant moment ever!
Lucifior and Alastor were playing who was the better dad in this episode.
The reveal Alastor's soul belongs to someone else is also a significant moment.
it was so weird i kept replaying it!!! i don't know why him swearing is so weird to me he's just so professional lmao
He doesn’t swear hardly ever because that wasn’t allowed on the radio when he was alive
I love that line. Take that depression!. Also first time hear ali sware in the show!. Makes it even funnier, I love just after back story is side 18 seconds later you see ali true from!. 😮
I could so feel that on a personal level. Depression is a bitch.
I did not expect to tear up after hearing Lucifer’s story and his song
It's interesting that Husk said Alastor is on a leash too. This is probably the reason he has such a higher power level than other sinners and overlords. But I'm wondering who it can be. Lilith, Roe (Root of all Evil), it could even be one of the sins, or someone/ something that connects to Alastor's voodoo past/ lore
It's lillith
Can we also appreciate that in their duet, when Lucifer has Al in the skillet, that's the first time we see Alastor's ears go back?! His composure is slipping!
If we pay close attention throughout the season, you can definitely see cracks in Alastor beginning to form in episode 3 when he is evasive from Zestial's questions, and shows noticeable annoyance when Carmilla Carmine refuses to let him create some mystery around his seven year absence. I think it's very clear that Alastor likes being the center of attention, but, the moment Lucifer walked into the room, nobody was looking at him anymore.
“Good until five minutes ago” “This is getting fucking good.” husk and angel are a whole mood, I love it
Imma throw this theory out here. What if Lilith is the one who has Alastor on a leash? (Edit: I now realize that Omni had stated this in the video.)
HOLY SHIT THAT ACTUALLY MAKES SO MUCH SENSE THO FRRR 😧‼️
Been thinking that too, especially with the 7 years
That seems obvious for the moment
Right?! Maybe he lost a bet or a gamble! Lilith commanding Alastor to keep a eye on Charlie, and maybe even have him push Lucifer away from her. @_-.cosmo.-_
I mentioned that same theory in the video, very likely
4:39 it was at this moment I knew: Lucifer is my favorite character officially.
The whole Alastor on a leash thing is something I thought about since episode 1. it could be Lilith but I’m actually not quite sure. It could also be that he sold his soul way back (maybe even when he was alive) to get his power in the first place.
The fact that you and Lucifer said "Who?" Was so good😂
When you said "DEVIL'SND HIS FUCKING FIDDLE"had me dead😂😂😂
Hence why alastor really wants control as lucifer is what lillith wants away from Charlie
bro everyone calls lucifer short but HES NOT THAT SHORT EVERYONE IS JUST MASSIVE ALASTOR IS 7,3 AND CHARLIE IS OVER 6FT
Im willing to bet that intentional design to respect his origin as a Cherubim.
Cherubs are depicted as small childes with 6 red wings.
Alastor can change his size at will. Height for him is an optional setting.
Short or just regular among giants, I quite like it.
Why do I adore lucifer so much in this series HES SO CUTE AND SILLY❤😭🙏
As amazing as the Lucifer and Alistor song was.
Lucifer's "Take THAT depression!" hit my heart so hard Dx...
I laughed and then sighed lol.
But back tot he song, he very much gave up a similar vibe to me with the song as Genie from Aladin. That same kind of energy you know? Like a darker version of Friend Like Me.
At 4:07 I love how Charlie has everyone's number ranging from major demons to individual Egg Bois.
Husk mentioned:
"You've been gone for a while and i don't think anyone knows why. Big talk for someone who's also on a leash ")
Which is probably alastor!
Lilith was gone for 7 years
Alastor also for 7
I think we kniw where this is going.
Alastor literally walked up to Lucifer and said "Your daughter calls me daddy too." and then WAR happened.
I was wondering how they could possibly continue from the sheer emotional peak of storytelling that was episode 4. This'll do it.😂
So I'm thinking that Lucifer's dreams that Heaven rejected involved duckies. LOTS of duckies.
What the DUCK?!
This was delightful to hear after the fact! I wish I knew while I was watching!
"Take that depression!" may be my favorite line of the whole show.
Alistor did say he’s doing it for entertainment but who knows if he can be trusted
He undoubtedly can NOT be trusted lmao
“Take that depression!” Why is that the standout funniest line to me?
Time stamp?

I don’t know about you, but after the episode I remembered the theory of one person back in the days of the pilot that Alastor depends on voodoo (all his magic most likely comes from them, since every time he uses the power, Voodoo symbols fly around him) and what he most likely made a deal by promising to show their power to all hell or something like that i don't remember much.
I feel like Lucifer and blitz would get along if the topic of daughters came up, maybe even stolas
It would make sense since they've both been missing for 7 years
Alastor and lusifer seem like father and step father competeing for the childs attention
Jeremy Jordan was definitely thinking about his daughter singing more than anything
The "who" almost the same second when Lucifer say it is perfection
This show keeps getting better and better I really love this show
9:39 wow ok I never realised Alastor’s hair was that um
Unique 😭
Alastor figured out very quickly what to do and say to get under Lucifer’s skin
It's ok bro we all cried man high key
The golden fiddle won the internet for me
by the title I was honestly thinking lucifer was dead beat but its so sweet that he's actually trying to bond with Charlie than treat her like shit like people thought he was back in the pilot
I love how Charlie looks like her Pilot design at the start
The funniest, most wholesome episode 💖
Alastor and Lucifer roasting each other was hilarious, then him teasing Luci for his almost non-existent relationship with Charlie, til Mimsy's dramatic entrance, and finally, that sweet daddy-daughter interaction 💕
"Oh my god you like girls ! We have so much in common !!"
That had me dead bro 💀
I'm taller than Lucifer's canon height,he's 5'8.I'm 5'10 and just left college.
I fucking love America
Oof I'm the same height as Lucifer then 🤣 Are their canon heights listed anywhere?!
I love how alastor know he cant kill lucifer but still doesn't care😂he is just so good
This episode has a chokehold on my soul
When you said "Maybe that's just the name of the duck," why was my immediate first thought, "The duck's name is Depression McQuackers!"? 😅
This and Episode 6 are really good! This series was definitely worth the wait😊
where did you watch it please?
You know it’s a good production when even the antagonist songs are bops!
Can i just say, thanks for your react vids to this show. Um im glad im not the only one who cries while watching these. 😅 😭😭😭 Ugh the father daughter song really got meh!
3:09 look at husk’s cup omg 🤣🤣🤣
This episode is like a guide book to make a Tumblr sexy man. And mind you, I'm talking about Alastor here lol
I love the sequence of Alastor's horrific backstory ending in Mimzy going "Underneath all that he's a sweetie. Play Jazz, fill him up and he becomes a kitten"
Because that's probably the most effective depiction of the mindset of a Tumblr sexy man I've ever seen. Including a woman being his special person but him sending her away in the end because Tumblr sexy men run on the logic of "the most disturbed, powerful and dangerous twink man in existence, wearing a fancy suit, having a soft spot for me and not that other stupid cow! He's wants to secretly be with me (Alastor choosing the Hotel) and treats me - and ONLY ME - _right_ " lol
Alastor's merely the crazy uncle variation of it, I fucking love that 😂
I'm still stunned at Al dropping the F bomb
Can I just point out the fact this is thr first time Alastor has actually sworn, thats enough grounds for concern in my book
Bro those episodes were the best birthday gift ever its even better since you uploaded too ❤
8:01 that “fuck you” was personal 😂
9:42 I would have loved if he started playing Devil Went Down to Georgia 🤣
What if Lilith and Alastor have a deal? Something like more power in exchange for helping Charlie, and that's why he's "also on a leash".
5 is officially my favorite episode. The comedy and scariness is amazing! And Alastor was the best by far in this episode
@Omn1Media My theory is that Lilith saved Alistair after his battle with the V's maybe they fell for each other during his recovery
There never has been a show, that touched me so deep as this one. More than anything is a major part of that.
I wonder what Charlie meant in the pilot when she told her mom "I think dad was right about me"? Seems like he's a pretty good dad.
Probably just a retcon
@@HelloHaveA_NiceDay or maybe, he just wasn't on board.
@@corryjamieson3909 that’s true. It could also be Lilith lying to Charlie about her dad 🤷♀️
14:30 verbaleses dark backstory 💀
btw if ur wondering why lucifer can’t go to heaven is bc he’s a fallen angel and vaggie was hesitant bc she’s one too
THIS EPISODE TRIGGERED MY DADDY ISSUES
You are the first RUclipsr I've seen make a comment on the Golden Fiddle Lucifer whipped out. Thank you
