For me Days Gone is a real game changer. Yes, you get to kill zombies, more so towards the end of the game, but you also get to manage resources and unlock new skills, weapons and upgrades, especially for your bike. The story’s also solid and as the narrator says it’s an open world, which gives you freedom to do your own thing.
even better when you mod it on pc to have larger horde sizes and less items to scavenge...even on the survival 2, I found the resources to be too plentiful.
Def agree Dead Island 2 needs to be experienced and is very thrilling to play with just the right palatable gore element but #1? For me, within your list, I would debate Death Stranding or State of Decay 2 for the top spot due to the social aspect to the game. Death Stranding is an amazing experience and surprise, personally rates within Top 10 of my gaming career, for making such a lonely and slow game SO rewarding. Finding structures built by others or others using mine added a uniqueness that made my mind spiral with the possibilities of furthering the genre. State of Decay 2 with its community of players working together to maintain their strongholds, bases, group of characters that can “perm” die is perfect for constant Open World play. Speaking of constant play, I’m surprised Fallout 4 wasn’t on the list as its settlement building component as a TON of gameplay and thematic relevance within post apocalyptic setting. The sheer amount of variance you can have in making different bases with contrasting environments and home aesthetics should be a staple for all these games when tech allows
Thanks for the list. For me, for some reason, I absolutely cannot play third person perspective games, so half this list is out for me (which is a shame, since Death Stranding looks very intriguing). I have to play first person perspective... ah well, I suppose that is my burden to bear....
Wow, somebody trained the AI to use commas! This is actually watchable now! Edit: I spoke too soon- it's a bit better, but it's like commas and pauses are $10,000 each, and this guy is broke. He ALMOST had it, too. Damn. I'll check back in a few months or a year and see if it's any better then, maybe I'll even re-subscribe.
Great video but shit dude, that ending just spoiled a big part of Days Gone that I was just about to experience for the first time! I know it's an older game, but that's still not the best choice in footage.
I can say honestly, days gone so so underrated it's not even funny, to me it should have ended way higher on your list, and fallout 4 is so much better than Vegas in every way. Other than that I think the list was fine, maybe not my ratings but it was a good list. Out of dying light 1 and 2 I actually liked 1better, drying, ight always feels to short for me .
Are you serious for Dead Island 2 to be on number 1 spot? Story-wise, it is trash. I can't connect about their Hollywood drama, like, doing stupid things just for a small trophy? I remember playing all of the games of the first Dead Island game and DLCs several times, but this sequel felt really empty. Just have to finish the game so I won't have to think too hard about how much I paid for it. Dying Light 1's story might still be better than this.

It's literally a crime from Sony not to make Days Gone 2. It's such an amazing game.

@@mikko8574 IGN to be blame first
Horizon Zero Dawn is one of my all-time favorite games. maybe in top 3 with RDR 2 and Uncharted 4
I think those are like the 3 most overrated normie games ever lol
Days gone and mad max are the only two from this list that I like
i loved dead island 2. better then my expectations
Some of the “Most Excited” to try in your list would be Mad Max for the car element and FO New Vegas

I live sunset overdrive, it's insane cool.

I dont understand what you mean? the script is ai? what is commas?
DayZ and The Long Dark should be on here. Even though The Long Dark is after a Geomagnetic event.

Hzd, Metro exodus, Madmax, island 2....
I think HZD stands out because most post apocalyptic worlds are grey, dead and filled with negative vibes

Death stranding ahh man one of my loved games
I have all except death stranding and state of decay 2
avoid dying light 2 and play dying light 1
YUP!!!!
The Last of Us 1 and 2?
Not open world, but still great
I’m starting The Last of Us P1 soon. Hopefully it’s as good as they say it is, RDR2 despite the reviews was dreadful.
@@jonathanrees3401 It definitely was for me, rdr2 wasn't dreadful and not everyone enjoys it, but the world is full of details
Where are the ones where you can build and Survive???????
Yep, 7 days to die!
DAYZ!!
metro exodus IS NOT an open world. the heck are you smoking?

Opinions right.
Agreed. the entire story line was on rails like it was console game.
Are u serious ?? Its just a list of 12 games not a top 12.....
It's not even open world
Not open world, you sure?
I just started playing but I thought I heard you can keep playing after main storyline ends
