Brandon, you better not shoot one of the new bows or you will throw that Rampage XT away. The newer designs are that much nicer to shoot. It started with the Alpha Max, one of the best aluminum bows Hoyt ever made. Have a great day.
@bill-winke I know, I avoid pro shops like the plague. I even still have my dad's hoyt super slam. Hoyt won us over with their warranty and customer service. Have a great day
I like the specs, lower weight, and higher speed of the new RX9 Ultra. I have the RX7 Ultra and it’s been a great bow-it’s the best aiming/shooting bow that I’ve ever owned! Do you notice much of a difference in speed between the RX8 and the new RX9? Thanks again to you and everyone on your team for the great content!
Not at my draw length I don't. It looks like on paper if you are shooting a 29" draw you will see a really big difference, but at 31 3/4 inches, I can't really say that the 9 is faster than the 8, possibly a little. I didn't shoot them through the chronograph. Thanks for your comment and support. Have a great day.
i agree, i like a longer bow too, being that i am 6' tall. i find 37" to 38" ata to fit me best. i also like a regular cable slide more than the roller guard type, i have found them much easier to tune.
Interesting. I have never seen that difference in tune but I do notice that each bow I set up likes a slightly different type of grip pressure. Maybe that is related to design elements like the cable guard.
Sick bow/cams. I'm still in love with my rx5 ultra 34ata carbon with the old-school sexy body lines that look like antlers. Thank got the rx5 looks cool or id be so jealous rn
Hi Bill. I still have the RX-7 and it has been great for me. Is there any significant difference in the 8 or 9 that you would say makes it worth upgrading to the 9?
I liked the 7 also. Both the 8 and 9 are quieter and have a bit less shock/recoil than the 7. I saw a bigger difference going from the 7 to the 8 than I have going from the 8 to the 9. All are great bows. The best way to know if it is worth the upgrade is to shoot them side by side at the dealer. You will be able to tell quickly then. Thanks for the comment.
John, I didn't move anything. The bow tuned very easily. I had to play with centershot a little bit to get it aligned but that was the only real tweaking I had to do. Good luck.
First off, love watching your no bull shows, but 2k for a bow is insane as heck, I know they help you out, but most lower end middle class just can't afford these. Keep up the videos.
I hear you. Most companies, Hoyt included, make more affordable bows. The true secret is to buy used. They sell for about half price a couple years later. Good luck.
I don't think I ever have. I have shot the longer axle to axle bows all along and they have always made something that fit me without going the LD route, I think.
I am shooting 80 pounds. Because I have it set for 85% letoff, it drops off pretty fast, but it is smooth enough. If you shoot any compound bow enough, you automatically calibrate your draw force to the bow so you don't hammer into the back wall when you hit full draw. Good luck.
@bill-winke you are a beast! 80lbs? My Matthew's v3 is 54-55lbs and is a struggle at times...I'm very fit but 69 in age. You are awesome for responding! I used to shoot hoyt
HBX 25 - 30 (in quarters -> A - K!!!) HBX gen 4 -> pick YOUR length via mod and you will get 4 options (1/4 A - D) Now, gen 4 is a bit more efficient and THATS what the new bow is all about...
I am not nearly as technical as I used to be. In the past you really had to understand bows to get them to shoot well. Now they are so good you can just set them up and you are pretty much good to go.
I havent shot a new hoyt since about 2005,until i shot the rx8 a couple weeks ago, i cant put my finger on it but it felt like driving a luxury car in a way.
I think it is the lack of recoil that really grabs me. It just feels dead. It is a very odd feeling compared to the way the older generation bows feel. Have a great day.
Nice bow, but for $2K plus, no thank you. Ordered an APA Black Mamba 33 in left hand 70#/28" for $1,250 including shipping, should be here in a week. Will have my old, "which I have been shooting for twenty years now", Hoyt Cybertec XT2000 cam and a half with 65% let off for my backup bow.
Last year’s RX eight also had quarter inch adjustment
Always gotta take time off the day and tune into Bill Winke videos
I appreciate that kind of support! Thanks for the comment and have a great day.
That thing checks all the boxes. Thanks for the review
Great video Bill as always. Extremely informative compared to others that just emphasize on the animal harvest. Crazy knowing you only have 44k subs.
I kind of wonder about that myself sometimes, but I do appreciate the comment and support. Have a great day.
Always enjoy seeing new hoyts and reading about them. Still shooting my satori and rampage xt . Crazy how the cams have changed

Good review Bill
Great video Bill of a fantastic bow!!
Thanks for the comment. I have been impressed for sure. Have a great day.
Sure is a nice bow! Would be just about the perfect hunting bow, thanks for the review!
Thanks for the comment, Peter. It is a very nice bow. Have a great day.

Awesome Bow Video! Enjoyed it Brother!
Thanks and have a great day.

So where are they giving these away at.
Bass pro shop
Wouldn't that be nice.
Bass pro isn’t a Hoyt dealer
Did you have to move shims/spacers during tuning? Thanks!

@bill-winke yep just saw an rx8 demo bow for 1k on ebay. The saved money would pay for a press etc...
Have you ever tried any of the hoyt long draw bows? Im 32 in draw length as well and was curious
I don't think I ever have. I have shot the longer axle to axle bows all along and they have always made something that fit me without going the LD route, I think.
Enjoy all your videos! If u need someone to give that rx8 to I’ll be happy to take it off your hands lol! Good luck the rest of the year
You and a few thousand others. I think I will hold onto that one in case I need a backup someday. Have a great day and thanks for the comment.
What poundage are you pulling? Does it break over easily?

My dad always buys the latest and greatest and I just buy the 2-year-old model off of him works out good for me 75% off
You have a great program there. Good work and good luck.
Just ordered mine Bill!
I am sure you will like it. Good luck.
@@bill-winke Uploading the video of my selection to my channel now. It was between that and the PSE Mach 33. Hoyt won me over this year.
The HBX also has 1/4 length-adjustment... I thought you know the RX8...
I didn't even realize that. For some reason I just assumed 1/2 inch because that has been the standard industry wide since I can remember.
The HBX also had hard and "super" hard wall... I thought you know the RX8...
HBX 25 - 30 (in quarters -> A - K!!!) HBX gen 4 -> pick YOUR length via mod and you will get 4 options (1/4 A - D) Now, gen 4 is a bit more efficient and THATS what the new bow is all about...

Why do they release new bows during the middle the season? They should release these in the summer.

Bill! When are you switching over to team mathews!?
Man, I have shot Hoyt since about 1995. I think my bow hand would grow warts and shrivel up if I tried to shoot anything else!
Got to get Jordan one of the SD models to review
I agree. I will look into that. Thanks for the comment.
I heard they are going to be the most expensive bow of the year
I don't know as I have not compared prices. But that is possible.
We're the 20% off promo code lol
My hope is to see a stick bow in your hands one day 😂
I did kill a pretty decent buck in 1993 with a Dan Quillian Patriot Takedown. Do you remember that bow? Maybe someday again.
@ nice! Time for a come back!
Love my RX1 ultra wouldnt trade it for an RX8 or 9 or any other im 68 and put my carbon spyder turbo away. To hard to hunt with when its cold
I don't remember the RX 1. I don't know if I ever had one. I have the RX 3. That is a good bow too. Have a great day.
Hey Bill, what is that Kuhl jacket that you’re wearing?
They don't think they make that one anymore. Jordan bought that for me a couple years ago at Scheels. Haven't been able to find it since.
