Think of it as a base, like when you're trying to get a tan you go to the tanning bed to get a good base first before you go to the beach and get those real UV rays and also so you don't burn. Another way of looking at it as if it was a primer before you put your first coat of paint on your walls or the outside of your house etc...So put it on first as your primer so it's already on your skin ready to enhance and amp up whatever fragrance you're going to layer on top of it. I usually apply half the sprays of Molecule 01 from how many sprays you're going to use for the fragrance you're ultimately going to be wearing that day or night! I think that's the best way to look at it and apply it but you just need to work with it a little bit to see which way works best for you cuz we all know everyone's skin chemistry is different! So just for example I wore Roja's Elysium Parfum Cologne the other night, so I sprayed Molecule 01 about 3 times and then sprayed Elysium 6 times on top of it and that's what's always worked best for me! These fragrances are great. For those who want a cheaper version of these fragrances need to listen to Katt Williams when he joked about a Chrysler 300 and a Phantom. A Chrysler 300 might look like a Phantom until you pull up next to a Phantom lol. Sometimes fragrances can’t compete where they don’t compare.

Im glad that you called it Molecule 0-1, but its not pheromones at all. also it doesnt reactivate on your skin. Its the scent receptors that are reactivated. And i do agree it can smell very different at times- i sometimes get soft fuzzy woods and sometime i get a nice light lemon scent

I’m surprised that Nio could get compliments. I own it and like it, but didn’t feel to me like a compliment magnet. Personally, though not my favorite, Armaf CDNI limited edition is my most complimented fragrance. And I don’t count compliments from family and friends. I’m talking about strangers stopping to tell me I smell amazing and asking me what I’m wearing.

Hey Steven, could you do some reviews on a house I recently discovered? Casa Niche, I believe they’re based in Chile, their entire line sounds super interesting.
I had a 5ml decant of Instant Crush which lasted quite a while because you only need one or two sprays. It has a sharpness to it that’s off putting. Also, I only received one compliment on it. IMO it doesn’t compare to BR540. I’ve received a lot more compliments with both BR540 EDP and the Extrait version. More so with the EDP because it projects more than the Extrait on my skin. I’ve had women ask me to write down the name and where can they buy it. Men have complimented me also, but mostly women. I never purchased a full bottle of Instant Crush, but I own two bottles each of BR540 EDP and the Extrait if that tells you anything.

Just buy decants. There are several online shops I order from that will make up to a 10ml decant. I mostly buy niche fragrances now and I always sample before buying if possible.

One thing I find incredibly misleading about the fragrance community is how they portray some fragrances as panty droppers, or as something that everyone around you loves. 90% don't care at all if you wear a fragrance or not. Moreover, there will be many who don't even like fragrances in general and just want you to smell natural. That's why I think it's important to treat fragrances as the cherry on top. They can definitely give you that extra level of attractiveness/professionalism or whatever you want, but only if you still work on yourself
Nice list, Steven! I freakin love Musc Ravageur, from top to bottom it’s such a relaxing, sexy scent, that’s perfect for the bedroom. Rehab smells absolutely heavenly… somewhat similar to Musc Ravageur… it’s so clean with that lightly spiced lavender and creamy white musc and woods. I’d put Layton and Instant Crush right up there, too! Although IC has that cotton candy vibe, there’s also an underlying creamy freshness that becomes more prominent in the drydown, which pulls massive compliments. Next to Sauvage, I’m pretty sure my most complimented fragrance is Pegasus… it never fails. Not sure if it’s the blend I use but I sometimes put a few sprays of OG Pegasus over Pegasus Exclusif, giving me a nice balance of a sweet, woodsy smokey ness behind a cloud of fresh creamy lavender… Pegasus is such a cool frag.

Electimuss is one of my favorite houses. I love Imperium in particular, but Trajan and Vixere are excellent fragrances too.
