Back with our 3rd video from our trip to Dallas/Arlington for the retro game/toy Convention, Retropalooza! In this weeks episode, the wife makes her first appearance and we take her game/toy hunting for the first time! I've been collecting for a long time and first experienced a con in late 2019 and thought wow that was great I can't wait to do more of those....then covid happened. And I had to wait forever but I hit up as many as I can now. They're just the most fun you can have in this community.
Why don’t we have these kind of conventions here in The Netherlands! Would be so awesome!
There must be similar things in The Netherlands. We have a couple of great conventions in Belgium with vendors from The Netherlands, Germany, France, UK. They are more crowded and maybe less retro toy focused, but fun none the less. I know there is a regular thing in Tilburg.
@@VogueDistortion yes, this. Also found info on a convention focussed on toys in Utrecht last year. That was their first time, so I don’t know if it’ll be a regular one
@@yewnew Yeah, I think many events are currently postponed or cancelled with Covid. The best thing to do is get into some Facebook groups and people will keep you posted on events. I heard about a really big event in Utrecht coming up. So maybe that's the toy convention you are talking about.

@@yewnew No sorry, I don't remember the name of the event anymore. But it is probably cancelled due to Covid restrictions. Maybe you can google it. Or if you have a retro game store in the area you can ask them. They probably know more about events in The Netherlands. Otherwise always welcome in Belgium ;)

That Radioactive Man #1 is a glow in the dark cover and is probably a 20-25 dollar comic. I have it in my collection and love it.
in quiebec Canada we have the CCJVQ group, a group of video games collector and we meet from time to time in Montreal, its a big event, people are really nice ! mostly speak french but most of them also speak in english ! plus all you buy is in Canadian money so 30% off

I had the issue number one Ren and Stimpy comic. I remember as a young kid opening up the sealed plastic and reading Ren’s speech bubble on the cover. It was something like “You idiot! Now the comic is worthless!”
34:45 The conventions I have in my area -- there's one thats similar to this con, its called RetroCon and its incredible! It is located in Oaks, PA.
So lucky, when I go thrifting, my wife prefers to either stay at home, or in the car on her phone. 😂🤣

I enjoy watching the joy of 90`s kids collecting even though I`m an 80`s kid and so many franchices aimed at children came out when I was an adult .............. and practically I like to build rome collections on my own cabinets and retro gaming consoles ............... horses for courses ........ indeed

SEGE this past year was my first video game convention, and it got me back into game hunting again! I’ve broken away for years, and I cannot remember why. I’m ready for another video game convention/expo/whatever! We may have to plan on going to Retropalooza at some point in the future.

The Southern Fried Game Expo in Atlanta, Ga is another great gaming convention. They have a even bigger free play arcade area filled with vintage and new machines. I have sold there 3 times and it is always a blast. Also the Toylanta in March is the best show for vintage toys here. Thanks for all of your great content.

Found this channel today, might have been here before and man I love it. I'm gonna start a $10 game collection challenge next week.
Sky Dancers - The toys were constructed of a pull-string base and a doll with foam wings. When the doll was inserted into the base and the string pulled, the doll would launch into the air, spinning its wings like a propeller as it flew. The flight was like that of a helicopter.
The wings often causes temporary blindness because kids were not taught how to use the toys properly.
Also, they were a gimmick - there were over 100 different types of this toy produced with different molds.

Table risers are game changers. It lifts the table and makes it easier for customers. I did trade shows for jewelry and it can definitely have an impact. Also your own lights can do wonders
