Lived outside Chicago in Thornton by the rock quarry from 2003 till 2011. Miss it sometimes. Wife worked at he U Chicago hospital.

Nothing you can do about flood weather. The weather had been pretty good for weeks beforehand. This was more like the Flood 50 at Chicago sponsored by Mother Nature.

Sucks they had to call it early. The race wasn't actually that bad. Hoping the cup race can get underway.
listen, i get it that it was shortened due to rain. but in a 5 minute "extended highlights" video we saw zerooooooooooo passes and literally just single file driving. this course is absolute shit. the entire west side of the track is a 1 line procession. throw in the rain, it not being a race track, the cool temps, and teams trying to figure out a setup and its no wonder it was horrible

You know the I racing series at the Chicago street course when they said they were going to race at the street course I thought it was just a myth but last year they literally announced to race at the street course so I got so excited to see the race so now here we are

This was just a bad attempt at a good Fourth of July weekend. Should’ve just stayed at road America for the 4th
It's just like the LA Coliseum. If they do it next year, attendance will drop like The Clash in LA. Popular musical acts and a fair like atmosphere doesn't make a NASCAR race.

I believe ticket holders may be owed a refund. Although called official, never made it to half way or end of second stage which NASCAR 'current' rules state makes an official race. Round up the lawyers, the court battle will last longer than the racing and won't be canceled due to rain.

Has nothing to do with the TV network. NASCAR is allowed to shut down the city streets for a limited amount of time. The city isn't going to let them shut the streets down for extra days.
This is not a race track, it's a public road. Nascar cannot close it for a long time

Congratulations to Cole Custer for winning The Loop 60, wished it didn't rain out half of it ⛈️ ( bummer, it WOULD'VE been called The Loop 121, but they did reach the halfway point to make it official though ) but the makeshift victory lane inside the museum, a great way to at least end a successful Xfinity Series Chicago Street Course Race. Here's to a second opportunity next year!

@@CCSRacing1808 Poo...25 out of 55 laps, still, it was still a great Xfinity Series race. The former Chicagoland Speedway did have some moments, but this was the much needed boost they needed. Thanks for the correction....and reply. Happy 🎇 ( 4th of July )!

Haha. Extended ? Race was not even half/official. Are they going to give the fans back there money? NASCAR breaks their own rules and then fine the race teams if they bend the rules a bit. this is why you don't bet on anything nascar. no more of my money and no more of my attention. I never missed a lap 20 Years ago.

I’m having such a great time down here I’m from Nevada! I paid $1,500 for 2 nights downtown Chicago to stay paid $800 to get into todays race but it’s a down pour. I’m glad they signed a 3 year contract track this is much better than Road America though. I hope you people agree with me !! Hopefully though they can still race tonight. Because I gotta leave tomorrow at 10am. Plus i really wanted to see the chainsmokers but they cancelled.

Wow this is absolutely pathetic. Imagine paying money for an event and not be able to see even half of it. Imagine having the equipment to drive in the rain but NASCAR is too scared cause of safety concerns. And now the cup series being delayed for much the same reason. Nascar continues its long decay into irrelevance and this only accelerated the problem. Chicagoland speedway was built for a reason, instead it sits abandoned while chicago taxpayers foot the bill for this disaster.
I can't believe how many fans hate the saftey improvements NASCAR makes. Try putting yourself in that situation
Here comes the boomers saying nascar is “changing the rules”. NASCAR has a rule where they can call the race short of halfway if there are “extreme” conditions.
After what happened at Spa yesterday, I don't blame Nascar.
then run later tonight. they have options. this was a DOA deal for nascar and chicago. They should never do this dumb shit again. i got a better idea. Put a top 24 points on the local tracks on wednesday nights before the weekend races and give local tracks a run instead of this shit. then local tracks get more revenue and spotlight and 1/4 track is 200 laps of fun.
