Art Foamies is a wonderful source for foam art stamps that is now enlisting design artists, my favorite being friend and art genius Cat Kerr............ 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Your practice of tearing the papers that result from your Gelli Plate play kind of recalls to me the way I feel when I blindly cut masterboards. It rather opens me up to better be an artist instead of a person that tears or cuts up scraps because I am supposed to. Open my eyes, feel my creativity, boost my mood. Thank you for sharing!
Your dark goth style has me captivated, I am lost in your art, I will now think about gelli printing, think I'll start with a small gelli pad as I can maybe afford one of them. Thank you Luise, xoxo
This video is so helpful for a gelli plate novice like me. I just got the notification so maybe that explains the low views. I am so excited to hear that you and Barbara will be doing Dephemerember again. Can't wait. Another magical December💜
I agree, I think if you stamped off between each impression on the jelly plate your image would come out clearer. Good luck with it. Gel printing is somewhat of a mystery at times.
You need a pan of water near you to put the art foamies in so that paint does not dry on them. You were lucky to find them used, if you check their website, you will see what a treasure that box is!
Ive been experimenting with the plate. I drew, with pencil, onto parchment paper. Then i carefully rubbed image onto gelli plate, added a thin layer paint, then rubbed and removed paper. It did transfer the pencil image. But left image on gelli. Soap and water would not remove. But coconut oil did remove it. I havent tried another print of anything yet. Crazy idea i had, no stencil needed. But can just as easily transfer the image to painted paper. Lol take care.
Great video. I saw someone gel print onto cheese cloth. It came out great!!! And, it left a fantastic cheese cloth pattern on the gel plate. Thought I'd pass on the idea. Thx for great video. Austin,TX USA
The foam stamps work well, as you know, if you roll out some paint on another surface, press the stamp into it (using the paint like a stamp pad-I like to use a mix of several colors like you did with your backgrounds), and stamp the design onto the gel press. The foam stamps just don’t work quite as well to remove wet paint. I’ve seen Robyn McLendon get good results with her cool wood stamp, also cardboard. That said, I really like the papers you created!
Yes Art Foamies still exists, it is now a USA company. You get a free stamp every time you order. Super product for mixed media - you can use acrylic paints, art crayons, and water-reactive stuff.
I know from my own gelli plating that I have to "warm up" the plates before I get the pulls I want. Just 5-6 pulls that I know I will have to do more to. Then I can get the layers I want. Hope that helps. thanks as always for sharing.
Loved watching you experiment with all the papers and stamps on your Gelli plate. So excited to hear that you and Barbara will be doing a Dephemerember. You gals are the best 💕
Some gorgeous collage fodder there. I especially liked the red and green with the gold wax, wish I could duplicate it. Looking forward to another dephemerember.
I am SO excited that you and Barbara are doing Dephemerember again!!! My sis and I are STILL doing things from last year's Dephemerember, just so you know. Can't wait!!! You have also given me more ideas for my gelli plate, thank you! 🤩😍🥰
Yay, glad you are doing Dephemerember again! I love how the gelli prints came out. I have trouble getting my paint to spread out, it streaks and smears. I will have to keep trying.
I absolutely loved this video. Your squeals of delight as you revealed your papers were delightful. I don't have a gelli plate - is there an alternative way? Thanks for all you do Luise 🌷
You can also apply paint directly to the paper with for example a brayer or brush, make marks etc. You could use stencils for pattern making.I'm sure that can look interesting as well!
Great video Luise! Lots of cool effects. The foam stamps you are using seem similar to Ranger /Simon Hurley majic stamping foams. Have you tried those? You heat them with a heat gun and take impressions. They keep the shape until you heat them again so they are reusable when or if you get bored with the impression.
Dot from UK This is the first time of watching your videos, I found it very interesting. The colours may not be what I would choose but nevertheless I really liked most of them. I would love to see how you would use these pieces of fodder. Do you have a video of you using these fodder pieces or are you going to make one? Thank you for sharing your skills and talent. I will watch out for the Dephemerember video what a great name and good luck with that collaboration. Best wishes from Dot x
Just a suggestion, after all layers are complete and dry, if you finish with white or a lighter color, you will realize fully everything that was applied previously.......
Absolutely Art Foamies are available now. Some of their new designs are fabulous. They are a small company in USA contact them Luise they work with artists to make designs. I bought some Robyn McClendon stamps so wonderful. Check them out. Thank you for sharing this project. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you for all of the great gelli plate fodder inspiration. And thanks in advance for doing Dephemerember again with Barbara. Last year was wonderful!!
Luise, I love this video watching you make gelli prints as much as a gorgeous tag or journal. You got some amazing pulls! I love the greens you used, I was shocked by that green and red one as well! I wasn't expecting that end result. Gorgeous! Having said that,,,someone mentioned not getting notified and low views. I didn't see this until today, 9 days later. 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😭 think maybe YT is having some issues? Just mentioning it, so you don't think it's the gelli print video, because so many of us Love to watch these and You! 😘😘
Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me. I just bought a gelli plate and it’s the first time I try it. Never done this before. Now to my problem. The color doesn’t stick so good to the plate. Why? And can I fix it somehow?
When using the art foamies, keep another paper next to you and stamp the paint off the art foamie before stamping on the gel plate. The places where your pattern did not show is either from paint being too thick on the gel plate or on the art foami.

This feeling……like a drumroll ……….Dephemerember!!!!!!! Then cymbals crashing together!!!

It is no surprise to me that you and Barbara are compatible friends as you are both creative and beautiful inside and out. We benefit!!!

Yoohoo, another round of Dephemerember 🥳🥳🥳. Can't wait. Fantastic that you are taking the time to do this again 😘.

💜💜💜 I think if you stamp-off your stamps every time you touch the gelli plate, you will get a clearer pattern.
Thank you! I'll try that!

When using art foam stamps l find you get a better impression if you stamp off the paint each time you move it onto another piece of paper x
Fun gelli plate play!
Love your process, especially the gold gilding wax! Laura ❤

I'm delighted that we get to enjoy and learn from another Dephemerember! Loved this collage fodder lesson.🤗🥰

Try lifting the brayer while you're applying it
@@luiseheinzl thank you! I will try that. I was wondering if I cleaned it with something and ruined it, I hope not!

with foamies print on plain paper after pressing on the plate to get rid of paint
Thank you for all of the great gelli plate fodder inspiration. And thanks in advance for doing Dephemerember again with Barbara. Last year was wonderful!!
I have the same issue with the first few pulls off the Gelli plate. Almost as of it takes a few to build it up???
Strange, isn't it?!
What great ideas! Now, where did I put my gelli plate?...
It's not clear because you need to clean your foaming Stamos after each press!!! I love your work and creations!!
How often do you condition your gel plate?
never! I'm lifting the rest of the ink with a piece of paper

There was a bug in my schedule, so sorry!!! That will not happen again for the future videos
Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me. I just bought a gelli plate and it’s the first time I try it. Never done this before. Now to my problem. The color doesn’t stick so good to the plate. Why? And can I fix it somehow?
That happens to me when the paint is too fluid, the cheaper paints for example from the dollar store also work not so well on the plate
@@luiseheinzl Thank you for answer. I have so much paint. I guess that I’ll have to just use it. It gives kind of interesting patterns anyway 😊
Artfoaamies still exist in Canada.
They are very expensive, it was a lucky find for you.
When using the art foamies, keep another paper next to you and stamp the paint off the art foamie before stamping on the gel plate. The places where your pattern did not show is either from paint being too thick on the gel plate or on the art foami.
The patterns didn't show up because you used transparent paint.
