Just wanted to comment that it is nice knowing that the Cruise Controls are integrated into the turn signal stalk as not everyone who is selling their VW online bothers to mention if it has Cruise Control or not and being able to see in their pictures that the lever has a bunch of graphics on the it leads me to believe that in fact it does. Since my older Passat had the controls integrated into the steering wheel I expected all later models to do the same. But hey, why be consistant ...gotta change things to keep it fresh y'know.
Thank you so much Danny. My friends did not want to tell me how to activate cruise control in the car. This was very helpful, I appreciate the time you took to make this vid
Thank you so much. Around Halloween, after not having a car in Los Angeles for over 8 years, someone donated their 2006 Jetta, 5spd. to me. A treat! The catch though: she drove it from Toronto to LA and the manual is in French! Also, everything is in kms! So tooday, the CC light went on and I couldn't figure it out. I tried looking at all the symbols but believe it or not, that one isn't listed! It's not even in the diagram on a VW dealership. I called the previous mechanic and texted the former owner but then viola! I found that symbol. I literally thought it was an illuminated gas gage (that never went on before) and it was pointing to exactly how much gas I currently had. Thanks for the demo.
I just bought a golf 5 as my first car and noticed that it has cruise control. I haven't tested it yet, but I still don't understand how it works. It cannot change gear for you, right? So, if I have to really slow down, like from 100km/h to 30km/h when passing through a town, when I hit resume and the CC kicks in again, how does it get me back to 100km/h since that is not possible from 2nd gear
Jetta 2013 Standard, but there is no cruise control, and on the sites there is and it is sold. Can I buy it and install it or not? I hope you understand my words
Same issue same car as well lol I replaced all the fuses but still nothing. Definitely not important enough to take it in to a dealer who's gonna rip you off to "diagnose it" for me so I just live without it. I heard it could be the radar sensor but idk
I wish they coded for indicator stalk cruise control to add speed +10 and -10 km/h instead of just +1km/h, unless you can code that. They did that on Passat models like B6 (but it has seperate stalk) and onto steering wheel on later models of vw.
They can just relax, maybe tap along with whatever music you're listening to... Just don't give yourself a pedicure, or air them out by sticking them out the window. Thats bad.
Thanks for the video! We are researching buying a Golf Match and I'd assumed the buttons on the right of the wheel were for cruise. What to they do then?

Thank you :) i just bought a golf 5 and i wasn't sure how that works :)
Thanks for the video but that system seams overly complicated. The same buttons performing two different functions depending on how you hit them.
Go to Porsche :)
Seems pretty simple to me without 🤷 lots of buttons.
Not at all complicated.
Have to agree. My old Toyoya Supra's CC would disengage as soon as I hit the accelerator or brake, which seems a lot safer to me.

Thank you for sharing! I'm stoked it was a help.
Nicely/directly explained-TY!
Great video! It was a really helpful when my worship leader didn’t know how her own car worked! Much appreciated kind sir.
Do you still have the press the accelerator once activated ?
Should is stay at the same speed when you take your foot off ? My 2018 polo doesn’t stay at speed
Ya it should , only should change when u brake or press one of those buttons

At what point can you let your foot off the gas?
Hi when i press the command botton it's only mute the radio, hou can i change it so voice command?
Can you change the mph increments to 5ph instead of 1mph?
What happens if i don't have this and no buttons on the steering wheel
Very nice tutorial video. Thanks!
My glow plug light is flashing. What’s causing it ?
Am i correct in thinking a mk5 golf ccs does not operate in 5th gear ?

I cant get my cruise control to work on my vw Jetta 2011 ... will you now what's the problem
If it wont work at all, then you may need to have it checked out by your local dealer.
I'm having the shame issue with the same car. Did you ever figure it out?

You hold the button and it does that
One question. When you turn the ignition and your car is in idle (not driving), does cruise control lite appear on dashbord when you switch it on ?
2004 - 2006 yes, 2007 - 2008 it only illuminates when the cruise control is active (car needs to be going over 20Kmph)
What do I do with my feet?

Eat a burger
Get em sucked by your partner.
Is this the same on a Mk5 R32?
Mine is not working anyone know what could be the problem ???
never used it in my VW .... my cruise control is my right foot.
I tried this in my vr6 manual, it just stalled out the engine
My 2007 VW Caddy wont accept the VCDS coding for the retro fit cruise control. What does this mean ??
Honestly couldnt tell you. Need to check with your local dealer
A year later I know, but you probably don’t have the cruise control wire installed
Hey mine doesn’t turn on when I switch it to on, anyone know the problem?

What year is the car? Does the 2006 VW Passat have cruise control?
The 2006 does have it standard
Does it work on my Volkswagen Bora 2015?
Since its not a US model I cant say for sure.
Does it work like this in a golf mk4?
Nope. Any Mk4 wont have factory Bluetooth, so it will be an aftermarket system
@@socalvwguydotcom wtf are you talking about. this is the cruise control video.
@@andreiulR Mixed up my responses...
Yes it does
Mine is on but does not work
I drive VW beetle 2012 the blinkers don't make a clicking sound any more and my cruise control doesn't work
I didn't get a reply
Thank you
I didn’t know my 2014 vw caddy has this 😱
Thank You so much!
Very useful.
thanks, good video!
I been driving wit this on for months 😭
i thought it just didnt have it lmao
I never used it, it is too complicated for me
‘You don’t have to take your hand off the steering wheel to activate cruise control’…..then takes his hand off to switch it on!!…. 🥴
Makes no sense-canceling should be one single step!
Really awful design and functionality
Is there a way to display what the speed is set to exactly on the MFD?
Abit late 5 years later but u press on the dashboard the speed warning n it will tell u ur current speed
@@Luke385S is this just on the smaller display
@@TommyT_ i love that you still responded and probably still own the same car!
@@itssidx I do indeed. I've had other cars along side it in that time and company cars but I still have no plans to get rid of this one.
