"Exactly what the answer almost is" Lol
Thats his full name actually Andrew "Exactly what the answer almost is" Dotson
"All science is either physics or stamp collecting." It would be funny if stamp collectors use that exact same quote.
As a high school student, your continuous enthusiasm towards physics is really encouraging.
This is giving me daily Andrew uploads type vibes

I have to say, how honest, humble and passionate about physics you continue to be, is really awesome. There are a lot of toxic attitudes in physics (at least at the institutions I've been at). One can hope that videos like this will be a positive shift away from that :).
Thanks a lot!
What are the toxic attitudes like?
@@kylenetherwood8734 It can vary, but you can run into a lot of "this is easy" sort of people who seem to forget how hard things are after they learn them.
Or people who downplay how difficult other fields are.
I've been around physicists enough to agree that many have a strong sense of patriotism in their respective fields, which unfortunately sometimes leads to them thinking they're better than everyone else.

I'm not even a physics major. I'm an elementary school major but for some reason I like watching your videos even though I have no idea what your talking about😂
I think it's awesome when people from outside physics enjoy one of my videos!
Yeah, I'm a math guy but enjoy hearing about the problems you guys look into
Yessss Consistent uploads are AWESOME
I love that the soccer field / atom analogy never goes away
I can't imagine living a B.A.D life
Before Andrew Dotson
Love u as a freshman now I am enjoying Physics and also Mathematics
A prequel meme thrown in there for good measure. You're going to make a great lecturer one day.
This series has been super cool so far! Also, CVs >> resumés and it's good that talk was included in the summer school - applications are hard.
You may not see this, Andrew, but you've been a big inspiration for me. While I took AP Physics C in high school and did not enjoy the class, your videos have kept my interest in atomic physics going! Furthermore, you've helped inspire me to pursue a PhD of my own (though in econ). Thanks for always being so passionate and smart about your topic. Hope to see a Dr. Dotson in the next few years!
Thanks a lot! Don't worry, no one's ever particularly infatuated with what's covered in AP physics. Things definitely get more interesting.
Flammable maths
Please do not lock him in your basement
I used to ask a lot of questions during bachelor's but my spirit has dwindled these past couple of years. Thanks for bringing value back into it from other perspectives!
The physics side is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural
Physics is like as natural as it gets
@@maxwellsequation4887 I was joking. It is a meme from Star Wars
Congrats on 200k! That's awesome!
Congratulations on hitting 200,000 subscribers Andrew!! ~ Love you! Mom 💕💕
These vlogs make me glad that at least one other person in this world is getting stuff done ...while I've spent the past two days trying to complete a 2hr past exam :/ (though spent a lot of the days on trying to sort out my car after I got crashed into on Friday night which is not conducive to exam season)
so glad that covid means I get open book in person exams for accounting, but also I left myself with one day to make notes for the First exam so rip, fml lol.
congrats on 200k man!
I am so happy that my favorite physics youtuber is cultured enough to put a tf2 meme in the video
Congrats on 200k!!
These vlogs are quite exciting!
It is gratifying to be able to formulate an 'intelligent' question to ask during a talk and get an interesting answer.
congratulations on 200 thousand
200k! Congratulations man!
Knowledge has a beginning but no end! 💯💯💯
Thanks a lot.
It is very exciting to see these stuff
Don't even need to watch the vid , I already know it will be great content
"I think this video is getting long enough", video is 8 minutes
Lol yeah I said that when I thought I was still going to include a lot of rambling.
It may be hot where you are at, but the bane of my existence (largest hinderance to my education) are nice days. I live in Ohio, so spring and early summers are wonderful. After a long winter, it's almost like pulling teeth to get me to sit through online lectures instead of being outside. I manage, but it's rough. How can you comfortably sit indoors, during summer, through lecture after lecture? My advisor tried to get me to take a summer class. No. Instead i took 19 credit hours next semester. Would've killed me being indoors. Some places in the US may be miserable during summer, so maybe you're more inclined to want to stay indoors.
Keep up the content Andrew ! 😎 keeps good company while studying matter physics :)
I like watching these videos even tho I don't know the first thing about Nuclear physics
Enjoyed this video.
I would love to see longer videos.
I love when you talk about physics related to your research. Maybe also something for "normal" Videos :)
Wow💖
Hey can you make a video on mathematics of time dilation near a blach hole
yes i would like to know about this BLACH HOLE too
Blach holes are cool
Please dont stop doing these
Awesome🔥
Hey, Andrew! Question: is academia the absolute goal for you, or would you also consider jobs in industry (after your doctorate)?
Could you do a video describing the differences between particle and nuclear physics and what other physics classes are relevant to each for someone who is about to start university
I just got accepted into a nuclear physics undergrad research program!!!!!!!
Yussss
You’re so near to 200k
Almost as near as physicists are to finding quantum gravity
Ily my brooo
BEST IN PHYSICS CONCEPTS BUT WORST IN MATH PLZZZ MAKE A VIDEO ON IT
T-T I AM STRUGGLING SOOOO MUCHHHHH
cheeky little star wars reference
Can you make a video on explaining and deriving the Dirac equation that unifies special relativity and quantum mechanics (I forgot the name of the equation in quantum mechanics that is been unified by Dirac equation)
He has made a couple videos about Dirac equation, see for example this: ruclips.net/video/jjG2Y_dMsbI/видео.html
He did
Is there any video of yours, where you explain your decision to do your phd in the field of nuclear physics? I would be very interested to hear your reason(s), but couldnt find a video..
Epic
Hey, Andrew can you make vedio on solving jee advance paper (2020) , physics part . I would like to see how phd senior react when they try to solve basic physics problem. I am also an undergrad student and I think even though their lots of complicated things in physics this basic level physics problems of jee advance always refreshes us. They help us to understand deep roots of a concept.
Hope you will take my request, it would amazing to see how people well Professsioned react when they solve such elementary physics problem
Note : JEE ADVANCE (JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION, it's a Indian entrance exam which students gives after their +2 )
I enjoyed the video even though I didn't understand those 'heavy words' you used
Don't you hate it when you only think of a good question after the lecture ends and your opportunity to ask is over.
bro when u gunna hop back on rs?
hey congrats on 200k subs keep going in (ps:-i know i am late :^)
Andrew Dotson 🙏🙏
Bro do video on sites or youtube channels to learn grad level physics like mit ocw
It is Monday???
I want to study nuclear physics and work on reactor designs or something like that. I'm still in highschool and so far I haven't encountered anything extremely challenging however the math from QCD makes me very anxious. Will I need to learn those equations from quantum physics if it's not directly related to what I want to do?
Nuclear physics and reactor designs aren't as closely related as you might think. I spent 7 years on reactor safety for power stations and there was some thermal physics plus I needed to know a bit about feedback and the difference between old and new fuel. Then there's a lot of simple chores such as unit conversions.
Wow, nice intro
tyty
Second, I think.
Hi I am in 8th class which book will be best for me on physics ? Btw your videos are amazing. I understood a little bit 🙂
What's the duration of your PhD mate?
i know jack shit about nuclear physics but i enjoy hugs anyway, especially from loved ones. do i qualify for this course?
I'm running to his videos to say this because this is where all the physics peeps are. There are a total of 7 physics majors in the group of incoming freshman(me included) at my college.... I feel lonely...
I've been the only physics student in my year (after the others dropped) and I'm jealous that you have people to bounce ideas off of!
@@unbiunium lollll, we are rare creatures for sure

Have you ever been balls deep in a problem and tried DMT? Next video?
Still 199k :(
201k :)))
Fugacity.
Seriously, I really don’t know what this means and at this point I’m afraid to ask, but it does not fail to crack me up.
