Dawn dish soap is OK every now and then, but you should not regularly wash your dog's coat in any dish detergent as it changes the pH of their skin oil which can become harmful.

At least it's efficient. Certain substances in lemon peel have the ability to kill fleas in studies. However they require high concentrations to reach a meaningful percentage of dead fleas
Do it outside on a sunny day and if you have a crate leave them out there for and 1 or 2 and then give the dog a bath and check if they still have fleas repeat until all fleas gone or keep doing it weekly

I put vicks vaporub on the bites. It takes away the itchyness trust me. When you don't treat it those itch will last for days maybe 5 augh. Best to quarantine ur cats in a room so the fleas won't spread around the house. Actually we transfer the cat to the other house and it took 2 to 3 weeks to get rid of the fleas in the house. Cuz if there's no host (cat) the fleas will die. So best to treat the cat with flea vaccine or any treatment to keep the flea away from your cats, dogs or any animals.
Bathe in Irish Spring Soap. All bugs hate that scent, and it smells good on us as humans.
