Sir i am from India and I torned my acl a year back doctors recommended me for surgery but i didn't. now my leg muscles are much stronger is any problem occur if I go through surgery now because I don't want to live with torned ACL please reply sir
I think the reason why it’s harder to get over the fear is bc we realize how easy it actually is to tear it. If u break a bone, no biggie it heals and it’s stiff as a rock but acl tear, one wrong hit at a bad angle and boom it tears. I’m 8 months post op and I’m still terrified that one wrong move and I’m done for. I didn’t even tear it playing soccer it was during my pe class freshman year. But the fear is so much greater BC our knees are such a vital part of sports, and he does make a point that we remember the pain and the surgery and the PT that we don’t want to go through that again. I’m still trying to get over the fear but I know it’s going to take me a while even after I fully go back into soccer. Although I do think it’s funny how I’m scared I’ll re injure my left knee instead of maybe hurting my right knee, it would take a while to be confident in my left as I am with my right.
I wasn’t sure if this train of thought was common, I’m 8 years post ACL surgery, 24 now and still scared to tear it again. I weight lift but it’s important to stretch, mobility etc. pulled 405 deadlift yesterday and squat heavy, knee holds up just fine
Hey There!, I injured my left knee(ACL Tear) after a crash while cycling. My doctor is recommending Surgery but i am quite unsure(17 here), how has been Your experience after the Surgery. I mean can u do everyday stuff and workout without pain? thanks.
@@pushkarkaushik9610 it’s been over four years now since my surgery and I’m doing everything that I was before surgery. The only pain I get sometimes is in front of my knee where your tendon is since that’s the graft I chose. I wouldn’t even call it pain more like discomfort? it’s visible when I’m working out and bending my knee a lot but it’s really easy to ignore. A lot of times after soccer I would get a stiff knee but that goes away after some time. I also can’t kneel on hard surfaces I need some type of cushion since that area is still numb and hurts with pressure. Other than some small minor things everything is great and it’s worth it. For the first few months or years you won’t trust your knee while doing activities but eventually you kind of forget you even had surgery to begin with. You got this 👍🏻 this is just another bump in the road
Hello all! I had my ACL and meniscus reconstruction 28 days ago, and so far I am able to walk without crutches and walk easily up and down stairs! MY physio has helped a lot as I have physio 3 hours each day and I always ice a lot. If you believe in your self and work hard to recover, anything is possible. Remember, after 28 days I am able to walk up stairs without crutches and even swim and go to the beach smoothly, all the best to all!
Its not about going to the physio, its about recovering the knee yourself. If you wait until you have physio you are fucked. Just watch some videos and start as soon as it gets. I always here - yeah mein knee is bad, because the physio was bad. Its because you didnt do it yourself. I could also walk up and down stars after a month and had 30 min physio is total.
I tried that and I tore my ACL and meniscus again and now I have panic attacks every time I do sport and I don’t know what to do because sport is my life
@@DrDavidGeier i got locked inside my own Jean after arthroscopic surgery and it completely tensed muscles around the knee and changed my gait; any tips to getting over it?
The fear never goes away. I was never the same in soccer. Used to be fearless and just played never thought about injurying myself since I never broke or torn anything prior to my ACL/mencious. Now instead of just playing the game, I'm always thinking about re-injury and hesitating on moves or avoid play situations that prior to my knee injury I wouldn't have a single thought about. I would just go for it. Also, I have random flashbacks of my injury or thoughts of doing certain activities that could possibly tear my knee up. It's horrible. It literally fucked me up in the head. Its been three years post surgery and I never played soccer again. I used to also train in BJJ. I dont do that anymore either in fear of being twisted up and tearing something. I'm not sure how to get over it.. :/
mate, same here, i tore my acl and mencious and I can't put weight on my left knee for 8 weeks and that's just to start walking again. got surgery february 5
Try to get a hypnotist to alter your brain and get rid of that fear, also try chiropractor, and getting a strength coach to help build your muscles back up. I'm going to try all these now that im 15 months after surgery and want to get rid of the fear also.
Sorry, your knee's probably stronger than you think after reconstruction but after the pain and rehab I can understand the fear. Who the hell wants to do that twice
Man that was so spot on💯 it’s been 2 years since my ACL/medial and lateral meniscus surgery and the fear of even trying to get back to soccer is terrible. For me it’s the pain and I never want to experience this again that’s y I don’t even try and play. I really want to play but I always have this thought I’m going to hurt myself or doing something fun like paintball and thinking imma Fck my knee up. I can’t do anything without thinking imma hurt myself tbh. People would be like that injury is nothing but man it really does Fck with someone’s brain💯
@@claudiodortrait4839 Oh, for sure. I definitely have PTSD from the experience. I've played basketball, football, baseball, and soccer growing up. I never broke, or tore anything. The one year (first time) playing indoor soccer with an now ex gf of mine on a co-ed team, my acl was torn, and it wasn't by me. As I was winding up to kick this asshole was pissed off we were running up the score, and slid tackled me right into my planted knee, and I heard a snap, and a ton of pain. I walked off, and kept squatting up/down thinking I just hyperextended it really bad. Probably wasn't a good idea. It swell up like a watermelon. I have random thoughts when I close my eyes before going to bed of doing certain activities, and tearing it again. Awful shit.
I am planning to not go back to soccer for the rest 2019 and just focus on my body and work on my knee and do everything I possibly can to make it like I never tore it (it's possible). I want to make sure I Eliminate the idea of going back right away when the doctor clears me. I think it's good to take your time and not rush yourself back into action.

I did my ACL arthroscopy three weeks ago. i feel no pain, smoothly bending and your physiotherapy is more important than your surgery that what realize in these surgeries.
I had an ACL surgery from 14 days ago and iam being able to walk normally without crutches. I think that the psychological term is so important and its the most term that affects the recovery time. Once you have no fear and have a good self-confidence you will be able to pass over any difficulties you may face from this ingury.
Hello! I really hope you are doing amazing now thats 2 years since you comneted this! Im having my acl surgey in 1 week and im already procesing the fear or reinjurying it. I too think that the mental part is so important, i feel like if i keep fearing it, it will happend. Please tell me how you habe been
@@alizaidi5588 hi! So i had surgery 1 month and like 2 weeks ago. I was hable to walk without crutches since mi second week post op. I am not doing well at the full extension of the leg so dont walk normally, like I keep going up and down because of that. The doc said it's because I have lost much muscle in the leg so I dont have the strength to fully extend it normally. I recommend that you work on that since day two of post op! You will do amazing, trust the process
Friend of mine has a tibia facture, ATV crushed it, had multiple titanium pins and what not in it. He said that was much easier to recover from than the ACL. Goes to show where the fear comes from.
I tore my ACL in August of 2019, and got the surgery a month later. The button that was used for my graft failed, causing me massive pain that the Percocets wouldn’t even prevent. 10 days later, I got a second surgery where my surgeon put a screw on that button that was in my femur in the hole they drilled. I was perfectly fine after. Rehab went perfect and my mind was not in a state of fear at all and I would kick the ball and play with close friends softly. I relapsed in late May and partially tore it again. The feelings of the knee swelling and the pain and my anxiety sky rocketed and I now have a fear of re-injuring more. Even with my knee brace that protects my knee and training with a private trainer to strengthen the muscles in my leg to put less strain on the ligaments, I still feel fear and I don’t think I will be able to play like I used to. It sucks.

@@pushkarkaushik9610 Hey ! I am 17 also, it's been 270 days after surgery and I feel great. Starting sport in this week. I'd say it depends which sport you want to play again, for cycling 3 months after Surgery, I was able to cycle 30km non-stop. For sports like football and basketball surgery is must needed. So, It's your choice whether you want it or not.. Good luck!
I tore my ACL 4 years ago and when I have the slightest pain in my other knee I, without a doubt, convince myself I've torn my other ACL. I have a huge fear of reinjury that has stuck with me for too long.

I am 4 weeks post operation hamstring tendon graft. I feel good I’m doing my Pt and exercises twice a day to strengthen my quad. I am able to walk up and down hills. And walk 2 miles a day even more sometimes. I am still working on getting my leg to go completely flat, but I’m only an inch or two from that. It’s all in time and confidence my PT said. Just trust yourself and understand your injury was a freak accident. And cruciate ligament injuries are no longer forever injuries like in the 70s people are able to play sports again and at a high level.
Im 9 months post surgery amateur soccer player. Yet i finished last week my first solo session on the field with the ball and can say that the hard work each month payed off. Its still something different if u play a game with opponents, but after i realized that step by step my fitness and abilities to handle jumps and changes of direction are coming back, i keep gaining more and more trust that ill end up fine. I guess in the end its all about continuity the will to come back and the step by step work to the comeback without pressure. I can also say, that the Injury itself changed my life and diet. Since im already 32 now and tore it when i was 31 i had to think how i can maximize my chances to comeback. So i decided to lose some bodyfat. Im at a very low bodyfat percentage now and in a way better shape, that i had when i tore it. I guess if your having doubts about going back, just try to give it your all, if it tears again in the end u cant at least say to yourself that u tried everything. And in my opinion thats essential, that u tried your very best. Its a metaphor for sport itself. If u give your all u are likely to suceed but in the end theres never a garantuee.
Returned to football today 8-1-18 after having my acl,mcl and meniscus surgery 11-9-17 . I tore it none contact and it really messed with me mentally. Through pt and my own time I trained like I was going to play but mentally I wasn’t sure if I was able to. My biggest suggestion to anyone coming back from a surgery is to understand your limits but forget about the chances of re injuring . If your scared about hurting it then chances are your gonna play scared which will not help you at all.

I ruptured my ACL while dancing in May... I just surgery using patellar tendon on June 11th. Recovery has been going super well physically, but mentally... I don’t know if I can ever do the tricks and jumps like I used to. I’m scared to re-injure or worse, tear my ACL on my good knee. Thank you for your videos. I’m more open with my PT about my concerns and we are working on a plan to ease my worry. Again, thank you.
I tore my acl and lateral meniscus October of 2021 playing soccer, 5 months later I was playing again but the knee just felt unstable and had no confident on it even though I did physical therapy for 5 months just because I thought I could play without an acl 🤦♂️🤷♂️ . 8 months later after i initially tore my acl I got the -acl surgery and lateral meniscus June 16th 2022. After that I did physical therapy for the next 6 months just to get another arthroscopic surgery to remove scar tissue on February 1st 2023 . did another 3-4 months of physical therapy and 4 months later I played soccer again in June 2023 . 🙏so it took me exactly 1 year to start playing sports . Now it’s been almost 2 months of playing soccer and the fear of reinjury is minimizing and I’m almost at the same level when I went down the first time with the acl injury. In my opinion anyone who returns to sports after a hard scary injury like a torn acl , 1. you need to do the physical therapy 2. You need to build strength and muscle back on your injured leg 3. Do more physical therapy and start doing drills , exercise to slowly get back into your sport . 4 Trust all your hard work you put in physical therapy and gym and You can slowly start playing sport again and feel and understand how your knee feels and go from there . Doctors say it takes up to 2 years to fully recover and feel almost like new again. So everyone that ever went through this Goodluck and work hard to come back stronger than before the injury . 💪
I tore my acl my sophmore year in football and it was devastating I had to go to therapy everyday after school I just wanted to get back into the game but I had to baby my knee and understand how long recovery was and I returned to football the 5th game of the season this year and it’s been fine ever since it just gets aggravated pretty often due to so much stress put on my knee
And after how months post surgery did you start playing again? If you could share your exercise routine pre sports return I’d be grateful.. I’m 7 and a half months done after surgery but I’m really afraid to go back and start playing even casually.. cause i want to give my best when playing! I play football/soccer...
I’m 2 months almost 3 months from ACL surgery I hurt my sophmore season this year during football and I’m even scared that I am gonna re injure it when I’m even do my workouts and excresises for it

Well... Fear of re-injury isn't in the back of my mind anymore because it's once again a very real reality today -sigh.... Had surgery about a year and some change ago followed by tons of PT and tons of gym training. Long story short I re-injured my knee this Saturday playing a VERY light game of basketball with my 13 yr old son, heck I was even being careful keeping conscious that my knee could possibly give out, and it did... FML!
I tore my ACL back in Dec. of 2020 while skiing and a little hesitant to go back to skiing full time in next season since I have read some articles saying you can be 6x more likely to tear your ACL on the non-injured knee. Like jeez, I really don't want to go through this process again on the opposing knee and let alone do it while skiing again. So definitely hesitant for next ski season to start but it is still Jan. 2021 so I have plenty of time to recovery and heal, hopefully getting over this fear by then. Thanks for this video though!!!!
I had surgery done in September of 2020, I can definitely relate to the hesitating and self-doubt process of returning to sports. Here's some perspective my coach told me, "You can hurt yourself doing anything, injuries are bound to happen, but if you're living your life not doing what you want to do, what's the point? Do the things that make you happy, don't let fear get in the way of coming back and working harder". My advice would be to start slow and slowly progress, don't fall into the 6-9 month mark timetable of returning to sports because its a marathon, not a sprint. In time you will be back to where you want to be, but don't worry about the future, focus in on the now and present of what you're able to control. Don't be so focused on the outcome, focus on the now, accept where you're at now, and chip away every day. Do your exercises, set other goals during the process and you will be just fine. It's easier said than done, but let go of the things you cant control, and focus on what you can. My dm's are always open for a conversation as I found too even talking about your fear sometimes doesn't make it all that scary.
I’m searching for answers everywhere. I feel like my flat feet is preventing me from properly healing my confidence in my ACL reconstruction…I’m so frustrated. It’s been several years
I got ACL injury last December 30th and i was operated on January 5th the pain really sucks but a day after the surgery we did some leg raise exercise and the doctor was amazed because i can lift my leg without his support so he asked me to try to wear a brace and try to walk with crutches and guess what i was able to walk with it (still a bit of pain but tolerable kind of pain) 2 days after surgery pain is totally gone
@@danb4382 I wrote this when I was at a really low point right after I'd hurt my knee for the second time. I went to the doctor a couple days later and turns out I I hadn't torn it again, just overextended it a bit. It's been a month since then and I'm at a better place recovery wise than I was before I overextended it. I'd say for you, try not to think about the long term right now because you're only a week out, just focus on getting a little bit better every single day. Also recognize that when they say "6 months to a year for full recovery" they really mean it lol. Oncd you get to that full year though, the chances of you hurting it again are pretty low. There will be some tough points during the process of recovery where you get depressed, but overall, if you stay consistent with going to physical therapy and actively trying to get better, you'll do great. Remember that the more you do of that kind of stuff, the more you're reinforcing your knee with extra strength and muscle, making it harder for any injuries to occur. Also, as soon as you feel up to it (probably around 3 - 4 months out) try to go to the gym and do some hamstring curls. Stronger hamstrings will really take a load off your knees and again, make them harder to tear again. Also just know that you'll get more and more comfortable using that leg, and more specifically that knee as time goes on. Initially I was so scared to do anything with my leg that it took me almost 3 weeks after surgery to start walking again.
I think the fear comes from the statistics found in the internet that vary from 10% to 30% of ACL being torn again, while 60% never came back to their sport. Imo crucial is first weeks where you need to get full straight knee position, otherwise it will tear itself after 2 years. Almost no one talks about it but it might be quite a bit of % there. The other thing is that once graft is torn it requires 2 surgeries, not 1 to get things done and its getting worse.
I partially tore my ACL about 10 months ago and the last 2-3 months I have felt recovered and can walk normal again. I had no concerns until I woke up this morning and I can’t walk on it. I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary to cause this. Now I’m terrified that the tearing has begun again. I don’t play any sports, I tore it skateboarding and haven’t been on a board since. I’m going crazy right now trying to figure out what to do. Any advice?
@@cheyennemathis8578 Maybe just swollen from some overload? I dunno man Im no doctor but I would do MRI asap. If you had full extension, there is no way you could tear it during the night.
Everyone should be aware that its a fear and a fear is irrational. If your ligament is fully restored and you have the same strenght as before (usually takes around 6 months to 18 months, depending on the athleticism) the chances for it to tear again are the same as before. So the fear is unfounded, because you didnt have the fear the first time you tore it. If its restored, its restored.
i don't think that's quite right. If you read personal accounts, you'll notice that many people live with side effects or even recurring illness in the knee due to the surgery. Some recover completely, some don't.
I am 15 days post operation after tearing my ACL and meniscus. My biggest fear right now is doing something wrong and hurting it all over again. I trust my physical therapist, but I am terrified to reinjure it when doing physical therapy and exercises. I am doing my best not to step on it since I am non-weight bearing.
Major mistake is not getting your knee straighten by week 6. Acl just tears after 2 years if u dont have full motion there. Fear of tearing new ACL is only in our heads, Im after surgery as well (3 days - only ACL) and is has double the strenght of your old acl. The problem are the screws that takes a year for them to be covered with bone structures. That may get damaged but you would have to fall or do something really stupid/unlucky that requires a lot of force. Thats why is important to excercise more but not taking huge leaps in excercises. Most dangerous excercises are one leg squats when you are not prepared for them imo.
I “sprained” my acl about 7 months ago and I was doing sprints on the turf and I felt the same pain again, I feel my doctor didn’t know what he saw in the mri and just told me to sit out 12 weeks. BecUse I feel the exact same, note I never got surgery. So I dotn want to go back just for them to tell me to sit out of the next football season

I had my first ACL tear when I was 13 and now I am 20 and I just found out that I tore my ACL a FOURTH time without even realizing it. I should just forget about playing sports right? Also they found arthritis in my knee as well. When should I expect to have a knee replacement done? In my 40s or 50s? EDIT: Thankfully I did not tear my ACL a fourth time. Hello Doc, I'm 28 yrs old male and quite active in sports. I experienced a partial ACL tear from a fall two years ago and underwent diagnostic arthroscopy where the surgeon confirmed that the ACL is not completely torn. I'm experiencing some laxity in Lachman's test and not able to fully recuperate from the injury. I'm managing it by using knee braces while running but having a tough time with the friction caused by it. Is it alright to continue using knee braces and if yes, please recommend a good product. Thanks.😀
Hey, I'm not a doctor or anything but when I tore mine I used a donjoy knee brace before my operation and I felt as if I had never torn my acl in the first place. So yeah, I am happy with Donjoy
Hey There!, I injured my left knee(ACL Tear) after a crash while cycling. My doctor is recommending Surgery but i am quite unsure(17 here), how has been Your experience after the Surgery. I mean can u do everyday stuff and workout without pain? thanks.
Hi Doc. I had my ACL torn in November 2018 and did my ssurgery in Feb 2019.. It was anatomical single button acl reconstruction.. Wanted to know why this surgery was done... Prior to the operation I thought they would use the traditional method of 2 screws but instead they used 1 screw and 1 button... Will this button remain for life in my leg.. Is it harmful
This button should be nothing but a titanium plate. Seems like the doctor has completed the surgery with a Hamstring autograft. Nothing to worry about.
The screw he used is probably biodegradable so your body absorbs it and the button does stay but it's real small. Its not a problem and from what I gather the titanium screws have a very small chance of working themselves out which the button can't do
Well I play volleyball for my highschool I have played since I was in 7th grade and this year I went to hit outside and as I came down my acl snapped I automatically knew something was wrong because I could get up the physical therapist for my school told me it was just my hamstring but I knew it was more serious and I ended up having surgery and my goal is to get back to playing volleyball but I’m so scared I’ll use my other leg more and then I’ll tear that acl in my other leg
im 15 months post surgery.... I know the pain i feel is mostly the scar area tissue but it scares me and i feel afraid to play soccer, mind you i dribble alot and i'm not confident to do that. it also cracks
Fit Life Therapy omg I am 15 months post surgery too... I have the same thoughts as you too. I feel pain too especially that now I do lot more shooting the football type of drills to test my knee. I have sharp type of pain on the outer side of my left knee. They keep telling me that it’s because I had work done on my meniscus so it shouldnt be serious but I still worry and get annoyed that I am feeling this pain. I really want to play fully again but I feel like this pain is holding me down. I wanted to ask did you have this at all at any time during rehab so I could figure out if it will go down the line with certain exercises.

@@pushkarkaushik9610 yeah I can’t tell if it’s the scar tissue itself. I can definitely feel something but it’s really not that bad at all! I’ve been able to play no issues however I would do a lot of leg works after to strengthen both legs not just that one side.

I had my surgery just over 6 months ago (complete tear of ACL and meniscus). Today I ran 10k in 50 minutes. Not confident enough to be playing football/Soccer again though. Still aches, swells and feels unstable. Aiming to play some football next month.
I dont think after 6 months the stability will be better a month later. The difference between running and playing football is insane. The twisting movements and jumps are way heavier. Better do weight training and football specific conditioning 6 months more.

@@pushkarkaushik9610 Hello! Yeah over 3 years on and it's mostly fine. I've run multiple marathons and can play football. Sometimes it does swell up slightly and give some pain, however it doesn't stops me exercising. If you can repair the tear through just physio then maybe try that before committing to surgery, however the doctor wouldn't do it unless it was necessary.
Hello respected doctor David, I am From India I was met the surgery on 12/3/18 in after noon, coming to the point is I had in knee 3 damages areas 1.tore completely Acl, & 2.medial meniscus and final one is lateral meniscus soon I'm requesting is when I chance to walk and run in future, ?? Can you any suggestions for me Iam in complete shock...
Hey Suman. I had ACL Tear, Medial Meniscus and a bone bruise on my right knee. Had my ACL torn on the left. Got both operated in 6 weeks gap. Right first and then the left, just 3 days back. I feel my leg is stronger now. Surgery is not the ultimate solution, it's the rehab. It took a year and a half to realize I had ACL tear because it was misdiagnosed by 3 different doctors and I went on injuring it again and again. If you want to go back to sports, it will be hard, but you can start playing light. And improve over time. I played badminton for a year without ACL and it didn't even bother me. It's just an ad on, not the only ligament. Good luck
Hi sir. My both knee acl was reconstruction. First was success but right knee acl was not recover by 2 yes. I can run normally but can not return to sport. Is their any knee brace to return sport or should I left sport. I am 34 yrs old. Please give ur opinion.
Sir, i had an ACL surgery on 2019, its been 29months . Can i do sprint running now. Should i do weight training first and then start running? When i normally run i feel little discomfort on my knee. What should i do sir?
I was unable to return to wrestling after one year of the surgery and just after returning on the very second day i tore my meniscus to grade 3 and just after one month during my physiotherapy while juming last week, i injure the same knee again would i ever go back to my sport
I had a knee injury a month ago....i feel no instability...i can jog..i can even run... I have no physical symptoms of Acl tear....nor do the physical tests such as pst, lachman test etc show any symptom of acl injury.... But i had an mri but i had little swelling around my knee when i had that mri... Mri showed high grade acl tear Can mri b wrong anytime?? What do i need to do ??? Plz suggest.
I had a similar experience to you. no feeling of instability. However my knee did give out, but I still managed half a match before my knee gave out. I went to the doctor and there was one test he did which determined I had torn my acl, I'm not sure what it was called though, however, if I hadn't gone to the doctor, I would never have thought it was my ACL. The MRI showed a complete tear and I am 1 week post-op. I recommend possibly getting another MRI if you are unsure of the results. When you injured your knee, did you hear any sounds like a pop or crack?
Hello Dr. David, I tore my acl grade 2, 10 months ago and it's been 6 and half months since my acl was reconstructed. I'm gradually back to football now but my knee cap area still swells after the game and I'm unable to get complete hyper extention and complete bending. Please suggest and help, thank you very much.
I torn my right Acl partially from the bone while dancing on a football field. It’s going to be a year this month and to this day I am afraid of dancing again and exercising. My left knee moves the same way as if that ones torn too. It shocked my doctors and physical therapists and we are worried this one can eventually tear. Is there any way I can dance and exercise again without the fears of tearing both?
Well I had the LCA reconstruction last week and I'm already with fear to train again and I'm not Even ready for It. I know I'll make it with baby steps, but I'm afraid to reach and overpass the Athletic point where I was when I injured.
Hey! So I just retire my acl yesterday and would be my third time... I haven’t gotten an MRI because it’s swollen and I asked my therapist how long I should wait and he said 4 days... Realistically do you think my career in sports or not even career but to actually be active is over?? Do you know any athletes who have overcome 3 acl injuries? Same knee by the way. I’m devastated because I worked hard in therapy and I would have to do it all over again.. I feel like it’s torn for sure just because it’s really painful and I can’t even bend my knee backwards but an MRI is my best option. Thank you for this video!
I'm 2 months out of surgery and there is a lot of pain I am a kicker at the college level and it's my kicking leg and I still have some fear of tearing even though Ik it's getting stronger and but this is where the graph gets weaker. Any tips?
That's the most uncommon tear. Grade 1 or 3 is normal. "Heal" meaning you might have stability and not need 100% of your acl (and maybe avoid surgery)... yes. "heal" meaning the torn part will regenerate and you will have a full acl again... no (sorry)
My surgery was on oct 2 2019.. BPTB but after that i was unable to follow exercises.. now i can walk but not smooth... Extension and flextion is very difficult... Which exercises are good at this stage

Hey, I would need some insight if you would be willing to help out. I'm 7 months post operation, been running for a month now taking it slow (this corona stuff came in handy) but everytime I run, my other knee is soo frickin painful next day.. Obviously Im feared that I tore my other knee too but after few days its back on normal.. What is up with that..
It means that you were not ready for running yet. If you had pain in the other knee that means that you were overcompensating with the healthy knee because bad one wasn't ready yet. You have to strengthen it more before you run or you could be on the way to injure your other knee too if it's overcompensating too much.
I had my acl reconstruction on 9th of jan-19. I am recovering well. I can walk slowly without the help of walker. Can you please tell me when may I get back to my gym classes??
SHRUTHI SALIAN they usually say 6 months after the surgery is when you can start working out, I had mine a month ago so that’s what my doctor recommended. A six month period is necessary before starting strenuous activities

@@sarangsingh7373 did you undergo surgery?
How's your prognosis?
I'd happily give up any sports if it meant keeping my well being
Were you able to do it now

Excellent this gives me hope . I'm going under the knife in a few weeks time.
Best thing is ... to not think too much! Just do it :)

Friend of mine has a tibia facture, ATV crushed it, had multiple titanium pins and what not in it. He said that was much easier to recover from than the ACL. Goes to show where the fear comes from.
Yeah bro, because the knee become so unstable, that you know how fragile a joint can be
I tore my ACL in August of 2019, and got the surgery a month later. It sucks.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Max!

David u r doing a great job i appreciate u man for that ur videos really helped me to get out of my fear after surgery

lol I retore my same knee not even two years post op. fear is real friends.
I'm sorry to know that but how? and how is the rehab going?
Well you tore it in the first place. I dont think you were scared before that. So the fear is actually not real.
Retore mine after 6 years. I am feeling helpless and dont want to go through the surgery/rehab again.

sir you can try to make the video brief
FML!
The Liverpool scarf on the shelf 👍🏽

That's great!
Decided to ignore my fear of reinjury and tore my acl again. Now I can't go to college because I need surgery.
I just got my surgery a week ago, and I’m deathly afraid of the idea of having to go through this again... how has everything gone for you?
@@lostinsauce4515 thank you for your advice. I just started my physical therapy today and so far so good.
@@danb4382 awesome bro. Good luck!
@@RM-el3gw That is true but the risk of a rupture is the same.

What are your recommendations for/ thoughts on snowboarding after an ACL reconstruction?
Generally I think it’s fine if the patient has regained full strength and range of motion.
I know a girl who had hamstring acl repair ten years ago when she was 16.. she jogs and snowboards all the time fyi
I have completed surgery fifty days. Can I return Sports field again. I am hoping and positive Like Zaltan Ibrahimovic.
There are custom ACL braces that might decrease the risk of re-injury but wouldn't prevent them 100%.

Its not a problem and from what I gather the titanium screws have a very small chance of working themselves out which the button can't do
Can we return back to sports after an ACL surgery? And if yes that after how much time?

I feel my leg is stronger now. Surgery is not the ultimate solution, it's the rehab.

Any tips?
i have 1 quistion can i bike 1 hour i am 6 weeks in
i was being injured in my knee ...MRI report shows ACL grade 2 injury can it heal without surgery
SURAJ KUMAR BEHERA sorry buddy but this ligament doesn’t get enough blood flow to heal on its own.
Lijo 183 I got my surgery at August and I started to walk 100% smoothly in the mid December. Don’t worry ab it champ
Hey There!, I injured my left knee(ACL Tear) after a crash while cycling. My doctor is recommending Surgery but i am quite unsure(17 here), how has been Your experience after the Surgery. I mean can u do everyday stuff and workout without pain?
thanks.
@@RheaShetty thank you for the reply 😊
