Finally got to see Men Without Hats recently at a block party here in Winnipeg, Canada with the Spoons, A Flock of Seagulls and Glass Tiger! It was a great evening with all those great bands! A big fan of MWH since Safety Dance and so great they are still going strong. Would love to hear an interviewer ask Ivan about the 90's and when they did the Sideways album which was a complete turnaround with guitars.
What a good interview!! Really good conversation, and not at all pandering or shallow. Thank you for not dwelling on Safety Dance, and for keeping it intelligent and interesting.
"The Adventures of Men and Women In the 21st Century" is one of my favorite Men Without Hats records. Ivan is a musical wizard. Great interview. They are SO MUCH MORE than The Safety Dance!
Id love to know the effect they used on Ivans voice on the song "pop goes the world". That took the song to another level. It was that effect that made it so good. It softened the rough edges. Song never gets old.
"Time has come for each of us to decide....to follow blindly or to.....step out of line. The party is over, it has been for years...lets use the water to wash up....not for tears" Men Without Hats I sing Last
One of those rare songs where you remember exactly where you were when you first heard it. And the video as good as the song. This dude smart as hell predicting what we are now experiencing full force: 14:10
Interviewer asked good questions, but one of the cardinal sins of interviewing is interrupting and talking over the interviewed. This guy needs lessons. Overall a good interview though, and I'm amazed at how Ivan Doroschuk is basically echoing my thoughts on society at large.
A lot of people have been waiting for the backlash for several years at 13:28, but I see no anger, there's no anger towards the corporate machine, and that has me concerned
. 🔴Ivan🔵 . 🔴The Satety Dance🔴 Um trabalho inteligente, honesto, e majestoso.
Great interview! But how Ivan can be so laid back now is beyond me? The biting wit he had for Rhythm Of Youth is so relevant today - Living In China, Ideas For Walls, and especially I Like. It didn't make sense to me at the time, but man - brilliant foresight! Folk Of The 80's seemed like a mess. Which most follow up albums should do. A bit of a nod to the old style, but try to squeeze a new direction in. But then things just got so cheesy with Pop Goes The World, and Sideways and all. I respected Ivan and the band for really going 'out there' with production and total reversal of guitars over synths. But was just lacking any of that 'bite' that was so focused on their debut album. And then Ivan's solo stuff - YUCK! But he seems so good natured about it all now and doesn't seem to regret any of it, and just enjoys people enjoying his efforts be it commentary or just slush, slop and silliness. He's definitely at a very graceful age now, I'll give him that! :)
I wrote Ivan a message about how their music changed my life... And he wrote the most amazing message back. Beautiful Guy, if i didnt love Them before i sure do Now.
Great seeing Ivan and listening to his interview. I love the Safety Dance since i first heard it. Ivan and the rest of Men Without Hats rule.😊

They always had guitars, but their music was dominated by synthesizers.
Glass Tiger gets forgotten. They were great!
Just started getting into Men Without Hats, and I already greatly approve of Ivan being a Devo fan! One of my all time favorite bands!!!
What a good interview!! Really good conversation, and not at all pandering or shallow. Thank you for not dwelling on Safety Dance, and for keeping it intelligent and interesting.
OMG❤️ the only thing that changed about Ivan is the haircolour and the glasses. He is stunning beautiful❤️

Great interview , great guy ivan
Love the shirt. Men without Hats and Devo will always be the two real cornerstones of New Wave.
Seems like a great dude. I love their first album.

Ivan is so cool.

Ivan Rocks!🤘
Men Without Hats frontman wearing a shirt of a band that wore hats.

IVAN IS WEARING A DEVO SHIRT!
Jenny Hatt It's funny, because I heard a recent song by MWH - before I saw this interview and his shirt - and I thought, "This sounds like Devo!"
But Ivan, We're ALL DEVO!
PretzelDude how true!
Yes..Devo. Incredible.
Every time I see Ivan, he reminds me of the Expanse with Thomas Jane (Miller). They are twins especially wearing hats.
Love MWH! Great seeing Ivan out there. DEVO!

I cried hysterical when i heard that song....
One of the most optimistic sights ever seen is watching my toddler music class dance to "Safety Dance!"
he look fantastic, even better !
He was so hot in the 80's and he looks even Better Now.
Love you, Ivan!
Still looks good for his age
amazing interview and.. one of my first CD's purchased was Rhythm of Youth (only 2nd to Howard Jones human's lib). after that.. a-ha, Mr. Mister :D

Ivan is a cool guy
LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Deep truth coming from Ivan at 13:00
UKISOCIETY Yeah, it sure is.
I'm curious where he was going with that "political correctness" stuff.

Survival of the fittest.
Sits too close
Q: Are we not "men without hats"? A: We are DEVO
Brilliant
Nice Devo shirt!

Men Without Hats are gods.
Why is there someone saying " yes" " mmhmm " after Ivan says something...everytime
Love them!

He sounds like he is from England when he sings

You can say what you want and if you can't say because you're PC, well you ain't no friend of mine.
The video is like a crossover between lord of the rings and the wicker man lol
Deeeevoooo shirt omg xDDD
The hair! Its gone! And he looks totally different. Great to see the interview.
If they joined with "Men at work", you would get "Men without work".
Funny because of Safety Dance I always thought that Men Without Hats was a British band, I guess Ivan's accent in the song was forced.
I always thought they were a UK band.
omg interviewer shut up and let him speak
What the heck? First Trans-X name drop I've ever heard. ha ha! I was starting to wonder if anyone but me had even heard of Trans-X.
Now I have to listen to Ich Liebe Dich.
FIRST COMMENT FIRST LIKE YAAAS
why is he getting an interview? he's a 1-hit wonder
How many hits have you had?
Pop Goes the World very popular song, two hit wonder.
@@westonstevens3239 Check out their song Sideways and note when it was released. Pre-Nirvana. I still listen to it every now and then.
